James Dean’s Fatal Car Crash: an Eclipse Triggered

Teen icon and “genius” actor James Dean was obsessed with speed and with doing things his own way, it is always noted, and his new Porsche Spyder convertible had little chance to give him joy or the racing victories he sought since production of his third film, Giant, had wrapped up. Instead, the 24-year-old’s new Spyder very soon acted as a method of death during a road trip to auto races in Salinas, California on September 30, 1955. At 5:45 pm near Chalome, California the driver of a heavier Ford Tudor coupe driven by student Donald Turnupseed made a left turn across the Y-shaped intersection directly into Dean’s path.

The officially declared “Year of the Teenager”–1956–had not yet dawned in September 1955 and archetypal teenager James Dean had already left the world stage forever.

Astrologers who use the YOD planetary configuration with its ‘crossroads; crisis; turning point; special task’ implications may instantly recognize the road conditions and actions on that day reflected in a YOD-like situation in addition to a transit of dangerous proportions for accident-prone Uranus was triggering Dean’s natal Mars in Leo!

In the car crash chart, a YOD formed as the Moon (physical body) rose @27Pis41 (conjunct Dean’s progressed Ascendant–@28Pis43 if we progress the natal chart to Chalome, CA). Moon opposes SP Moon @25Vir29 (in SP 6th house of Health) with racing Mars @22Vir04 nearing conjunction with SP Moon. So transiting Moon and tr Mars are Angular in Dean’s progressed chart. MC/IC Angles are at critical 29th degrees (MC 29Sag/IC 29Gem).

The car crash is timed by the rising Moon in late Pisces (had he smoked marijuana? He was known to) for at 5:45 pm Luna reached the apex of a YOD with the Neptune-Pluto sextile at its base–all three at 27 degrees which adds to the karmic or fated quality of the tragic event. And if we include the 28th degree Mercury in a sextile with deathly Pluto, the YOD condition becomes more complex and indicative of a crossroads/turning point event of life-changing importance made even more likely his purchase of a race car.

The Neptune-Pluto pair also hints at drug use along with otherworldiness, mysticism, and perhaps more to the point–crooks, swindlers, and organized crime. Separately, both planets are linked with end-of-life conditions and events with one of Pluto’s roles the god of Hades. And with a 12th house apex Moon in a YOD pattern with them we think of 12th house realms such as karma, self-undoing, hospitals, and secret enemies. Chances are, Dean had made quite a few enemies in Hollywood and New York with his rude, use-them-while-they-benefit-you behavior.

And this troublesome teen icon as leader of a generation of rebellious American kids? Uh-oh! Perhaps the Solar Eclipse Series of Dean’s death is of importance? That would be the 11 South which manifested in Jimmy’s natal 3rd house of Short Trips on June 20, 1955 @28Gemini–conjunct his progressed IC (End of Life, Separations). 11 South themes include system failures, old ideas or methods die and need replacing with new ways of handling issues, sudden reforms, and “any blocks may be violently or tragically removed” (Brady, ‘Predictive Astrology’.)

Now if you’ve studied James Dean’s natal horoscope (February 8, 1931 9:00 am CST Marion, IN), you know that this disruptive, conflicted rebel was born with electrical planet Uranus rising at critical degree: ASC 12Ari13, Uranus 12Ari26, a picture of coping ability, sudden crises, individuality, originality, and yes, genius. And of course, an Aries Ascendant makes racing Mars his chart-ruler, here posited in the 5th house of Risk-Taking and Creative Endeavors (such as theater and film acting) in the self-dramatizing, entertaining sign of Leo the Lion (@2:24 Rx). Plus, his natal Uranus in Mars-ruled Aries identifies him among such characters as anarchists, Utopians, and those with a zealous, cantankerous streak.

That his testy Mars was retrograde added to Dean’s tendency to do the unexpected thing and to go against the grain, and he often received criticism from colleagues for being difficult to work with. They never knew what sort of performance he would give until he gave it and he was super-sensitive to any and all criticism or direction–a sense of self-determination is a must for eccentric Uranus rising folk. Plus, a natal 7th house Moon in sensitive Scorpio (early death of Mother) squared Mars making for an emotionally touchy nature and explosive temper for this abandoned child who ended most of his personal relationships before others could break off with him (relating Jupiter Rx and square separative Uranus). This habit applied to relationships with guys and gals and there is a hint of sexual lack of follow through shown in the natal chart (Venus inconjunct Mars). Apparently, personal relationships were either emotionally satisfying to some degree (Venus ruled by Saturn) or were sexually so (Mars in Sun-ruled Leo.)

Now there are many other factors worth considering in the natal horoscope and psyche of James Dean yet this post is actually meant more for notating a certain cosmic condition operating on the day of his death and detailed, below, under ‘Dean’s Pre-Natal Eclipse Triggered’.

That some people since 1955 have proposed deliberate assassination of this budding Hollywood star (said to be bisexual and thus privy to certain other stars’ romantic secrets which if blurted out by the unpredictable Dean would ruin careers and devastate studio bottom lines) is also beyond the scope of this post though a small mention of such may be necessary, below. (Donald ‘Turnupseed’…’Turn Up Speed’?? Weird!)

Dean’s many obsessions and psychological complexes may be viewed within the gestalt of his natal chart, made obvious by an excruciatingly tragic childhood: his beloved, creative Mother died of cancer when he was 9 (or, 8, he said in an interview, linked below). Then his rigid, cold Dad packed his grieving son off to live with relatives in Fairmount, Indiana. In the heavens on his day and hour of birth, we see difficult configurations across the Parental-Security axis–the 4/10 houses and Cancer-Capricorn, a sad, depressive, restrictive Moon-Saturn signature which was lightened somewhat by a Moon-Jupiter trine and an imaginative Moon-Neptune sextile of opportunity. (While alive, his Mom always lifted his spirits with play-acting and such–‘the actor’ able to easily display for an audience a myriad of emotions across his expressive face! See a telling note concerning their marriage blend of Sun and Moon, below.)

And consider Dean’s Cancer-Capricorn planets! Jupiter @11Can36 Rx and powerful manipulator Pluto @19Can12 Rx in 4th house opposite old man Saturn @18Cap09, its own sign, and little boy Mercury @26Cap01 in 10th house. Except for Mercury, all are significators for Father and the authority Dean constantly rebelled against (well demonstrated in his second film, Rebel Without a Cause)…yet there in 10th house is small, ‘speedy’ Mercury with its well-structured mind that naturally tends toward the depressive side in Saturn-ruled Capricorn (a harsh Saturn-Pluto opposition–1A03–ouch!)

With rave reviews of his inspired performance in ‘East of Eden’ now to his credit, James Dean was approaching the verge of finding his inner authority when his life was cut short–and directing was his eventual career goal. Yet psychological improvement may have been far in the future considering his natal Sun-Neptune quindecile (165 degrees), an aspect suggesting a hidden or unknown personal identity (Sun) and may also denote actors who must hide behind masks to win approval and must work hard to define themselves–to themselves, most of all. You see, Father disapproved of a son he considered ‘effeminate’, a son whose Mother had him taking violin and tap dancing lessons.

So on September 30, 1955, the Aquarian Sun actor and developing matinee idol was glad to be free for a while to pursue his longtime love of car racing once Giant had wrapped. Soon he was off to Salinas on a beautiful autumn day with a Porsche car mechanic riding by his side and other of his team following in a vehicle behind. But then Turnupseed turned up at the Mercurial crossroad and the rest is legend.

Dean’s Pre-Natal Solar Eclipse Triggered

James Dean was born into a difficult Solar Eclipse Saros Series, the 4 South. A South Node eclipse denotes an out rushing of energy and has a Saturnian, separative undertone. (Getting swiped by the Tail of the Dragon is seldom if ever fun.)

4 South themes involve fated happenings in financial and relationship matters which feel out of control; blocked or frustrated emotions cause trouble, and there may be a sudden desire to end a relationship (Dean’s forte). Avoiding rash actions until things settle down is the best advice when 4 South is influencing matters (Brady) yet it’s doubtful James Dean would have listened if an astrologer had counseled caution at any point in his brief life, much less on a liberating day just made for racing a new Porsche. Perhaps getting the hay out of town while enjoying new vistas was his way of avoidance.

Yes, 4 South is merely a background influence in his life unless activated by transit or progression so what triggered or stimulated its themes at his death? Actually, there are two: Mercury, planet of travel and vehicles, was Stationary Retrograde at that moment @28Lib37 conjunct transiting Neptune @27Lib12, both in 8th house of Transformation and Death, and both conjoining Dean’s PE degree of 27Lib46–an exact double ‘hit’ to 4 South. Transiting Neptune brings a veiling, deceptive influence with a higher plane possibly in the mix as well (ex: death) and when applicable, may also supply the potential for assassination or murder. Certainly, Neptune, planet of the Unconscious, contributed to a loss of direction, or to taking the wrong path which may describe the events of this accident, if indeed it was that.

Meanwhile, speedy Mercury, strengthened by its Station, rules such things as communications, thinking processes, perceptions and impressions, hand-eye coordination, and the physical senses–including eyesight (Dean’s was not good so he wore glasses). But was the collision really Dean’s mistake?

Perhaps his last words to his passenger yelled into the rushing wind (Neptune) are telling of the fatal crash’s planetary implications including the confused, out-of-sync Mercury-Neptune conjunction (a restless, often deluded pair of energies when blended) as they conjoined Dean’s PE and thus may have affected his ill-advised bolt toward freedom on that day as he separated himself from others:

Dean’s Porsche had the right-of-way as Turnupseed’s Ford unexpectedly crossed the road and smashed into the actor who said as he accelerated, “That guy’s gotta see us–he’ll stop,” an unfortunate, tragic misperception of the other driver’s intentions since, occurring at dusk, Turnupseed may not have seen the gray, low-slung convertible at all as Dean assumed (his progressions show an SP opposition between Mercury in confused yet creative Pisces and Neptune Rx in Virgo–across the 6/12 Vir-Pis axis (victim-savior). Perhaps the collision was only Dean’s mistake.

James Dean was pronounced dead shortly after with internal injuries and a broken neck, jaw, and arms. His passenger, the Porsche mechanic, felt guilty for the rest of life, it is said, yet he survived the 1955 accident with injuries but perished in a car crash in 1981. Mr. Turnupseed suffered minor injuries in 1955 but basically ‘walked away’ leaving Dean’s Porsche a tangled, crushed mess of metal–and millions of fans bereft. No charges were brought against 23-year-old Turnupseed.

As for James Dean’s natal 1st house Chiron, the Wounded Healer and Blindspot, its natal degree and sign, 14Tau07, is a placement indicating a crisis concerning values and one’s physical incarnation on Earth (Clow); plus, Chiron conjoins difficult Fixed Star, Menkar, in constellation Cetus, the Whale–‘a victim of the unconscious’ indicator which supports Dean’s untimely Mercury-Neptune misperception and his tragic misreading of environmental conditions which led to fatality.

Now a word about the ‘shotgun wedding’ of James Dean’s parents, Winton and Mildred (who was 2 months pregnant.) Their early afternoon ceremony on July 26, 1930 (Marion, IN) shows Sun (male; husband) and Moon (female; wife) in Leo with the Moon conjoining Mercury @15Leo, the Lion Point. Mercury may be seen as James, her unborn child and this is supported by the blend’s apt ‘Image for Integration’ given by Charles and Suzi Harvey in ‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’:

“A child in an Edenic paradise builds a beautiful sandcastle in the sunshine with all the creatures of nature in joyous attendance.”

Shades of play-acting with Mom, later with colleagues, and of the disruptive rebel whose unique, magnetic talent for acting stole the show in ‘East of Eden’!

As noted, James Dean’s natal horoscope is a fascinating study full of conflicted emotions and parental complexes if you haven’t checked it out and I recommend it to you, plus, there are many biographies of his life in print and now available on Kindle.

My primary source during preparation for this post is Donald Spoto’s ‘Rebel: The Life and Legend of James Dean’. Also recommended are the following related links, the first of which is an excellent article by master astrologer Tony Louis:

Mars and the Passion for Speed (includes interesting links to follow, plus, horoscopes.)

Here are a few notes from the History Channel: James Dean Dies in a Car Accident.

Plus, columnist Hedda Hopper’s famous interview with Dean published March 27, 1955: Keep Your Eye on James Dean, subtitled, “Indiana Farm Boy, 23, Scores a Smash Hit in His First Film” (‘East of Eden’, with its spun sandcastles upon a California beach.) The caption under his photo reads, “James Dean…wins “young genius” label” and reports that onscreen Dean has an “exciting tenseness and the gift for projecting ever-changing moods.”

Now is such a Scorpio Moon-drenched assessment of his talent Uranian enough for you?

Is Sara Palin a fraud?

Now that the latest McCain ad is out, the lies of and about Sara Palin (she said, No Thanks to the Bridge to Nowhere, etc, etc) are on record and being disputed by mainstream media.

On this blog you may have seen a post or two on the natal chart of Sara Palin and a thread of comments concerning Neptune’s transit to Palin’s natal Sun and Mars in Aquarius. And although the veiling effect of Neptune to Sun makes it difficult to see her clearly while it glamorizes her image, the word ‘fraud’ is now being used concerning the McCain campaign’s claims about Palin’s actions and motives. Fraud is another of Neptune’s words.

That a glowing picture (Neptune) has been painted of her essence and purpose (Sun) is a given and you don’t have to speak astrologese to witness it – any media outlet these last two weeks or so has told you repeatedly what a great and conservative gal she is – and ‘hot,’ too.

But astrologically, as Neptune lumbers on toward Palin’s Mars (action; energy principle) I stand by my previous doubts that this lady will be what America thinks she is. That her actions will continue to be veiled in confusion, doubt, and even – fraud – may be born out in the coming months.

Dissatisfaction is another possibility either on her part or on the part of others as Neptune approaches her natal Mars. Some of the dissatisfaction may be on the part of a male (Mars) and the fraud could be against her as well as coming from her. Also the Neptune-to-Mars transit interferes with physical energy as well as causing a lot of misunderstandings in relationships (including marriage.)

Deception or confusion can undermine efforts even though some actions may be inspired, for Neptune usually brings elements of inspiration and intuition along – which may or may not be correct. Receiving recognition for these efforts may be another story. And actions taken during this transit may not have the long-lasting effects as expected.

With the Neptune to Sun transit going on for Palin now, illusions are encouraging fanciful ideas about her and fantacism is at hand. Her personal integrity is under fire along with her leadership style, and we’re seeing what may be primarily a Neptunian preacher before us.

Without separation of church and state, America won’t be America anymore and blurring (Neptune) this line is not the good idea some folk seem to think it is.

So with America at risk in this difficult time, my concern is for my country and its new leadership so if there is any shaking out of the truth to be done concerning this candidate, my hope is that the mainstream media will do the job which has always been expected of it – to get to the bottom of the truth about Sara Palin and others who wish to lead our nation and stop dazzling the masses with Neptune’s rosy glow around Gov. Palin’s halo.

Perhaps the tide of truth has turned:

Symbol of 8 = Saturn

Having a plethora of Capricorn planets natally certainly helps me resonate with the number 8 even though in Numerology, I am considered a 9.

Whether 8-ish or 9-ish, I had a little time just now to snoop ’round the interweb and I found an interesting article concerning the Olympics and Saturn’s 8 vibration. You may wish to check it out at BrightStarLights, a blog of “Astrology, Fashion, and Celebrities”…where you can also read astrological info about your favorite celebrities – stars of the stars:

http://brightstarlights.wordpress.com/2008/08/08/8-8-2008-numerology-and-the-olympics/

While it’s true that Saturn, as the ancient ruler of Astrology, is in touch with the occult number 8, still  we tend to think of the old Lesson-bringer as being connected to the number 10 because of Saturn’s natural house in modern horoscopes. Which may go to show that all is connected underneath – or that ‘modern’ Astrology isn’t always completely in tune with traditional, ancient teachings, teachings which were certainly culturally sound in their time.

Then you may as well add 8 + 10 = 18 = 9.

And there you go, 9 = the number of Completion!

Mama Your-a

Although, I’ve always enjoyed the thespianisms of Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Mr. Darcy Firth,  the following is my less than glowing pre-review written in defence of my tender eardrums which are admittedly hypersensitive but are capable of some discrimination left over from my musical childhood plus my life long habit of the rock’n’roll:

Having spent the last several days viewing and listening to clips from the new film, Mama Mia, I can honestly say that avoiding the pain of this movie will be my mission as long as there are those on TV and radio, in print or online review, telling me that this is a watchable celluloid spree, a veritable barrel of musical monkeys that I will absolutely love to swooning distraction.

From the glowing hype on TV, it seems my life will heretofore be timed by Prior M-M and Post M-M and glory be! An epiphany will be reached for the mere price of a movie ticket.

Yet I must say, NO and Non!! Fuggedabowdit.

I’ll pass on this High School Musically inspired frothiness of Broadway-to-Silver-Screen as my fond salute to bygone days of actually liking ABBA music…otherwise my decibel-addled restlessness will overtake me and I’ll run out of the theater like a madwoman, Snickers flying and with a decided chip on my shoulder on behalf of the lost-forever ten bucks I so carelessly tossed away.

And what makes matters worse – this movie ticket would be worth 2 gallons of gas, y’know. Or four bottles of refreshing Sobe Energy Drink (Citrus only please.)

‘Shake the Lizard,’ Sobe says, but my moneymaker? That’s an entirely different activity and I don’t shake it for just any actor-turned-singer being paid big bucks to warble my dwindling time away.

Is it legal to knowingly pummel Terpsichore to a mushy pulp like this? Okay, but is it morally just?

~:~ Disclosure: Whether it’s meant to be teen-targeted  or baby-boomer-targeted (please NO!) this movie pre-review is fraught with my totally unsolicited personal opinions. So you go ahead and shake whatever you want to the music you prefer, Dahlink. Then a refreshing Sobe will hit the spot, I promise.

CelebChart: Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie natal chart

UPDATE on the Jolie-Pitt Twins (born July 12, 2008 6:27 pm Nice, France) from astrologer Lynn Hayes who gives a wonderful write-up on the sweet little babies’ natal charts here:

http://blog.beliefnet.com/astrologicalmusings/2008/07/introducing-the-jolie-pitt-twi.html

~My original post begins here:

Angelina Jolie, June 4, 1975, 9:09 am PDT (Rodden rating: AA for accurate), Los Angeles, CA.

Born during a Saturn Hour, Angelina Jolie possesses a ‘Watery’ Saturn in a Watery house, the 12th house, along with Venus 28Can09 rising.

Known for her difficult relationship with her father, actor Jon Voight, her 12th house Saturn is in emotionally protective Cancer, sign of family and home, so we know that a father complex has made relating to authority an uneasy task for this Hollywood darling.

Thankfully, these daddy issues seem to have been successfully dealt with even though her separating Sun/Neptune opposition has made understanding daddy quite difficult along with the aspect’s defiant attitude.

With rebellious Uranus squaring Venus and Ascendant (ASC = a point describing the mask or persona which which we face the world), there is an underlying eccentricity concerning relationships–Ms. Jolie is attracted to unusual people and has a fear of ‘belonging’ to anyone. Venus SQ Uranus is the aspect of the “free spirit” who tends to flaunt her convention-defying relationships. And despite the past dismay of Hollywood’s power structure, this openess has worked fine for her career so far!

Well, what can be said of this beautiful actress?

Jolie (“pretty”) IS Venus-Aphrodite, the glamorous woman, and none would deny her the credit for her charming goddess-esque form. Yet there is more to her than the obvious Venus conj ASC implies for Venus/ASC conjunctions give more than charm and the approval of others. They may also indicate one who is fond of life’s finer things and an innate ability to exploit one’s best qualities.

Plus, Venus/ASC is prone to aggression when what is desired is not forthcoming–she provokes people into taking advantage of her then becomes annoyed at their presumption, and all is brought to a stop until she gets her way. There is a ‘conniver’ underneath a Venus/ASC conj, one who weighs the advantages and disadvantages of each alliance for its benefits to her…self-involved is Venus/ASC.

And sexy Sappho is at IC, which is perhaps an inheritance from a glamorous mother (4th house.)

Then there’s Jolie’s Moon/Mars conj: impatient, jealous, and extremely sensitive to others’ opinions–it’s the “sore loser” aspect. Slights might be only imaginary, but retaliation may still follow as people are “put in their place”–this aspect tends to cloud reasoning ability when overheated, but usually only when feeling threatened. Tisiphone, an asteroid whose keyword is ‘retaliation’ is rising with Venus, which underscores a vengeful nature when opposed or feeling put upon.

A hidden imperfection? Oh surely not! Then perhaps she’s only human after all…

Click chart to read my listing of Elements and Modes–you’ll see that there are no Fixed planets and no Earth in her natal chart.

Lack of Earth: realism lacking–grounding must come from other factors but her Watery Saturn in 12th (father) has not given this to her…Saturn is, however, Direct, which has probably helped Mr. Voight in his quest for a relationship with his daughter after their earlier problems. Good eating habits, plenty of sleep, and daily exercise are musts for Ms. Jolie’s lack of Earth.

Lack of Fixed energy: difficult to follow through on what’s begun–sticking with an exercise program helps develop commitment and willpower; sales or promo work are talents.

Abundant Fire: spontaneous, overactive, and restless; self-restraint must be learned for efficiency’s sake; wild behavior, exaggeration, and ego exaltation is usual with a creative, Fiery nature.

Abundant Cardinal energy: impatient; driven toward worldly experiences and doesn’t like anyone getting in the way; Saturn’s lessons come from all areas of life and they must be closely examined in order not to repeat mistakes (Billy Bob?); head to head competition is beneficial (Lara Croft!)

Yet papa Voight (no angel–who is?) must have been stung more than once by his daughter’s emotional touchiness and moodiness (Moon/Mars = temper tantrums), her rule-breaker leanings (Sun semi-sq Uranus), and the Sun/Neptune opposition which indicates difficulty in telling who’s right and who’s wrong in arguments.

Angie was misunderstood as a child, by her father (and perhaps by mother, too) and the insecurity the Sun/Neptune aspect engenders gives a suspicious nature about other people’s motives…not so good for love relationships. Yet maturity and self-knowledge are the antidotes for this confusion about the personal ego (Sun, a father significator) which then leads to adult relationships where one tends to bring out either the best–or the worst–in the partner.

This best/worst tendency is shown between her natal chart and that of Brad Pitt with their NN-SN ‘flip’…his Gem North Node conjoins her South Node 00Gem53…which is another way of saying that they bring out either the best in each other, or the worst. So far, it seems to be ‘the best’ for them both.

Plus, Pitt’s natal DESC, cusp of the Partnership house, is conjunct Jolie’s natal Sun 13Gem25!

The third primary link between their natal charts: his Cap Mars opposes her Cancerian Venus/ASC. As Paris Hilton once said, ‘that’s hot.’

As you see, Jolie’s Arian Jupiter is closely conj natal Midheaven, the Aspiration/Career Point, which gives her a desire for Jupiterian things such as money, spiritual growth, ideals, travel, and expansion of many kinds. Social work and child foster/adoptive care are also shown in her chart (Moon/Jup), so having jolly Jupiter at MC helps her tremendously in fulfilling her worldly desires including having many (Jupiter) children (Moon.)

Yes, Jupiter at Career Point indicates the Acting Profession and mega-bucks for performing.

The Mars/Chiron midpoint is at MC as well–Mars/Chiron is the ‘sacred warrior’ archetype which I could not help but remember recently as I re-watched her as Lara Croft in ‘Tomb Raider.’

The film’s adventurous fight scenes and its plotline involving the Illuminati and treasure-seeking, along with the physical training necessary for such acting chops by its lady star, reminded me of her natal chart to a “T” for there is a need here (abundant Cardinal and Fire, lack of Fixed planets) for a dedicated physical program. Martial Arts training is perfect! And hand-to-hand competition is good for the nervous irritability so usual with a Venus/Uranus square.

Sun and Moon are in a lovely sextile (60 degr) which softens the previously mentioned Moon/Mars disturbances, and helps her with the difficult Moon/Saturn square, an aspect of melancholy and gloom.

Moon/Saturn in difficult aspect makes letting go of the past difficult, but a Sun/Moon sextile indicates eventual success at this necessary task if one wants to move into the future without heavy emotional baggage. Another aid for her is her Moon/Jupiter conjunction, good for long-distance travel (and in 9th house!), social work such as being spokeperson for large organizations, spiritual insights, and an intellectual understanding of other people.

Moon/Jupiter conjs indicate one who wants to contribute to society and to give asylum to those who are in need of it. This is the “faith that can move mountains” aspect (shared natally by mountain-mover and terminal optimist, George Bush, in Libra.)

With Moon as chart-ruler and lady Venus rising, it’s no surprise that Angelina Jolie embodies the Aphrodite archetype for many people as her image is projected upon large silver screens the world over. And her dramatic Moon trine Neptune makes the stereotype even more potent for Neptune IS the silver screen–and one of the Moon’s archetypal goddesses is Isis. In fact, Lara Croft’s exploits inside the polar ICE cap was fulfilled beautifully by this lovely Hollywood “Isis.”

But ‘Mother’ is there, too, in her child adoptions and humanitarian social work; and as you see, I’ve marked the Aries Point (fame; prominence) because of natal Pallas, the Daughter, 00Ari28. So Jolie is famous in her own right, she’s famous for adopting children, and may eventually have a famous daughter.

In fact, her Sun/Moon (male/female = relationships, esp marriage) midpoint is conj natal Ceres, the Mother. This is a blessing for her, because Moon/Saturn’s melancholia may be greatly eased or mitigated by the joys of motherhood and the frivolities of raising happy children. She’s a good teacher to her kids, esp in their creative pursuits.

So there we have it: a starry portrait of a glamorous woman who lives out the Venusian archetype for the Collective–and is expert at doing so, isn’t she?

Perhaps we should include her Sun Gem/Moon Aries personality blend’s Iamges for Integration–which may remind us again of her Lara Croft role…

Sun Gem/Moon Aries: “A nimble-footed streetfighter dodges (her) way to victory over all comers…The eternal freshness of a Constable landscape.” (Chas & Suzi Harvey, ‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign.’)

Well, that’s all I have time for at the moment concerning this paragon of feminine goddesslike beauty–and I now officially dub her “CelebChart Queen”…until the next CelebChart usurper comes along and the Queen’s sceptor must be passed!

TV’s Craig Ferguson comedy clips link

A couple of routines by TV’s Craig Ferguson may be viewed uproariously here:

http://www.cbs.com/latenight/latelate/

From his invisible sidekick Davis to his I KNOW~W~W! cry of the true Aquarian (who Knows), you can’t do better for your funnybone after midnight than to watch Craig Ferguson’s cheeky monkeys and other guests…although I must say he’s neglecting to use animal sound effects of late. Yes, The Late Late Show has been honored by his imaginative company of cats, kittens, dogs, monkeys, gorillas, lemurs and other furry friends.

Last evening I celebrated Madagascar Day with Craig. Hope you didn’t miss it!

The comedy smorgasbord of TV’s Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show (one too many Lates for my schedule, but sometimes only Craig will do) is for those still in withdrawal from lack of Monthy Python.

After all, one can only watch A Fish Called Wanda so many times before it becomes like white noise–which sadly goes double for The Holy Grail and The Life of Brian, one of the most underrated films of the genre since Neptune was discovered in 1846 and photography began. Could Hollywood be far behind?

Well, no. It wasn’t.

Objects Are Closer Than They Appear (warning: this post will now vere into ultimate regions, so be wary unless you’re very sure of yourself):

You know it won’t do to forget to consider asap your ultimate and true condition before our Creator who cares where each of us spends eternity. Now THAT’s the sort of fearmongering that might actually do you, and the world, some good. And happily this well-meant heads-up is of the longlasting kind, not a flash in the proverbial pan being marketed to us 24/7.

Pan…glad you wondered about where the little dickens is at this very moment…hold on a few while I go check him out in my Solar Fire software…this post will be published and I’ll endeavor to return to update with details of Pan’s current flutey location. You know he’s one of the oldest archetypal figures in any culture. You could say his myth or tale is older than the hills and you’d probably be right!

One of the trickster figures in an astrology chart (aka horoscope; map; roadmap; hologram; mandala; birth chart), Pan emcompasses the concept of the trickster element or “artful dodger,” an archetype which is strong in my own chart with Mercury as ASC and MC ruler, planets in Capricorn (the sign associated closely with Pan since Cap is the Mer-Goat, the joining of Earth and Water, the oldest elements creating the Potter’s clay of Genesis. Natally my Capr Jupiter is linked with the Fixed Star, Sualocin, another of the tricksters! This Star also relates to the playful dolphin. Perhaps he’s a bit like the playful yet invisible sidekick, Davis, for Ferguson the conedian is quite the Mercurial change artist within his skit comedy, a veritable Prometheus, it seems.

Whew! this post wandered off the path with the astrology and Scriptural stuff….or did it?

Back Down to Earth Please But With a Twist of Neptunian Dreaminess:

Finally! I’ve decided on who will be the CelebChart Queen (a featured CelebChart written upon by this reluctant astrologer) but life gets busy in summery hot Georgia, so Ms _____ will have to wait until perhaps tomorrow…day of the Sun, first day of the week. Btw: here at WordPress something stunned me yesterday. I don’t know why I had not noticed before but the Calendar in my sidebar here on Jude’s Threshold has Moon-Day MONday as if it’s the first day of the week.

Puh! Moon starts week ahead of Sunday’s Sun? East over West?  Hmm…m..m.m….the poles are in process of shifting, ’tis true, but isn’t this a bit of an obvious morph of import for WordPress to pass on to an unsuspecting astrologer-artist who only blogs for the fun of it?

Is this crazy calendar switch a young person’s interweb (thanks, Craig!) thingy? Is it a new ‘look’ for WordPress, or have I in the past assumed too much about this blog’s format? Or…is someone attempting to master time?

All I’m sayin’ is that it’s curious, that’s all. Just plain Curious with a capital C. Which is redundant if you capitalize the C…oops I did it again…as Craig says, I don’t have time to be muckin’ about here…soooo….

What Did We Learn on the Show Tonight, Craig? (meow)

Have We Got Time For An Email?

Well, combining the two, we learned that I have an email question for TV’s Craig Ferguson but will post it here since he’d never get it anyway…

Hi Craig,

After watching your show, an endless loop of your theme song plays round and round my brain.

Can you suggest an effective headache remedy without aspirin?

Just Kidding (or am I?),

ps: that’s You singing, isn’t it? Thought so.

Update 3:45 pm edt: current location of Pan 5Gem13 direct, less than 3 degrees from MIDAS 8Gem06 direct…Gemini’s trickster qualities along with its often termed ‘duplicity’ is hosting both asteroids with hoarding MIDAS being money and gold, and Pan helping to infuse markets and financial systems with more fraudulent tricks than most people imagine. These two are not the whole story but they sure are livin’ large and kickin’ butt!

Frisky Friday Art: late than never

Dora\'s Pink Shoe Envy

Yes, the friskiness has left the building in many time zones…translation: this drawing is being published quite late for Frisky Friday Art.

And it’s not as if I splash up one of my archetypal Chiffonery Art images every Friday, Venus’ day though it may be.

Still, I hope Dora (titled prior to my hearing of the children’s character, Dora)–I hope that this Dora and her primal emotions of material envy are of some small entertainment for you, Lone Viewer, because with the way the world is going, you could definitely use a smidge of mindless visual fluff.

~!~ no decision yet on which two celebrities will be this blog’s Celeb Chart Queen and Celeb Chart King…wheels turning slowly but the Summer Solstice is approaching…any suggestions? ;p

an astrologer has Celeb Chart crisis!

Yes, I’ve been trying to zero in on the identity of a new celebrity candidate for Natal Chart investigation here at Jude’s Threshold  but can’t seem to decide who shall be put squirming under Astrology’s microscope, or telescope, as the case may be.

There’s something about reading details of a celebrity’s Natal Chart and I don’t mind telling you that using horoscopes of famous people is a good way to study Astrology because larger-than-life persons and grand events may be large-scale enough that their start times are duly noted in private, and perhaps in public news sources, etc.

So if I plan to post on two celebrities, one lady, one gentleman, then who should it be?

My list of nominees includes: John Cusack, Alec Baldwin, Jon Stewart, Alex O’Loughlin, David Letterman…..Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, Nora Jones, Jodie Foster…you see what I’m up against….how to decide?

Now this won’t work for me unless I have some interest in the King or Queen’s chart; still, If you have an idea for nominees please leave a message here with your original suggestion (or a name or two from my nominee list) for King Celeb Chart and Queen Celeb Chart–if only because it’s been a while since I posted on the Natal Charts of TV’s Craig Ferguson and chanteuse-in-denial Amy Winehouse.

I wish Craig could help Amy…I wish somebody could.
