Jan 6, 2014: Robespierre and the US Senate

Where Are Five Republicans When You Need Them?

by Jude Cowell

Since the US Senate is scheduled to vote at 5:30 pm ET today on a 3-month extension of unemployment benefits, I had to snag a peek at certain astrological portents for that hour and found that with the Sun (leadership) in governing Capricorn, the Pisces Moon (We the People) moves into Mars-ruled Aries prior to the vote.

So what does Maximilien Robespierre of Reign of Terror fame have to do with the US Senate or with today’s vote? Has this reluctant astrologer finally gone round the bend? I’ll have to get back to you on that one yet the question may be answered by visiting my Political Astrology site, Stars Over Washington, and spending a few minutes of your time!

After all, some say we’re living amidst our own reign of terror–ever since the attacks of 9/11/01. Wouldn’t you?

Solar Eclipse Jan 4, 2011: Sun Cap-Moon Cap

After a few days respite for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, I’m back to the salt mines of freebie blogging and putting out a little Political Astrology info for those who may care for Astrology used as a lens through which to view upclose the squirmy varmints of Politics.

Today is my first day back online so I spent it researching and typing a fresh Stars Over Washington post which concerns all the Solar (4) and Lunar (2) Eclipses of 2011 which you may perhaps find interesting.

You’ll discover that an image of the January 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 13Cap38 is shown; images of other 2011 eclipse horoscopes will be added to SO’W as time permits.

Yet what I didn’t mention in my post is info on the Sun-Moon blend of the January 2011 Solar Eclipse and so I shall add its details here.

Obviously, the sign Capricorn is highlighted with its law-government-business vibes; Sun Cap-Moon Cap is an Earth-Earth blend indicating down-to-earth and matter-of-fact influences. Patience, self-discipline, and realism are in evidence with this double helping of the ancient sign of the Mer Goat.

Sun Cap-Moon Cap fears chaos and I think all but the power elite can be said to ‘resemble that remark’ these days – especially given societal and economic conditions and the fact that 2011 will usher in the mysterious and much-touted year ‘2012’.

This practical combo of Capricorn energies gives a steadfast, autocratic, self-absorbed, conscientious, ambitious and purposeful demeanor to the start of 2011. There’s a pathological need for authority and security with a deep desire to make oneself immune from attack (as if!); ruler Saturn brings in the fear; meanwhile, professional recognition is sought for one’s wisdom, accomplishments, and status in society.

(As you know, Saturn and Jupiter are our ‘societal planets’.)

The Jan 2011 Solar Eclipse opposes US natal Sun (‘the leader’) so President Obama is front and center, or possibly is ‘eclipsed’ in some way.

A heavy emphasis is placed on material gains/goals and self-advancement during a Capricorn eclipse season yet given the state of the US and global economy, it’s understandable, even necessary.

Well, perhaps the Cap-Cap tendency toward common sense, practicality, and dependability will improve economic matters for the collective since the power elite already have more money than they can waste and spend – other than buying US elections directly now instead of their old-fashioned indirect methods, thanks to SCOTUS’ Citizen’s United decision of January 2010.

“Image for Integration” of the Sun (conscious mind) and Moon (unconscious) energies for the Jan 4, 2011 Solar Eclipse:

“A hoary old grandfather sits in his chair with this grandson on his knee. He gives him a gift for his seventh birthday – a first-edition of Pilgrim’s Progress.”

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey.)

Carl Jung on spying and terror

“Whenever justice is uncertain and police spying and terror are at work, human beings fall into isolation, which, of course, is the aim and purpose of the dictator state, since it is based on the greatest possible accumulation of depotentiated social units.”

Carl Gustav Jung – (1875-1961) Source: The Undiscovered Self, 1957

Quote compliments of Information Clearing House:

Psychologist Carl Jung was born July 26, 1875 in Kesswil, Switzerland, 6:52 pm; Asc 00AQ54; Mc 28Sco47.

Sun 3Leo19, Moon 15Tau29 nearing conjunction with Pluto, planet of psychoanalysis. Sun is conjunct ‘dedicated’ asteroid Vesta.

Jung’s Fire-Earth blend of Sun Leo-Moon Taurus has these Images for Integration, a possibility he would have approved of, especially since the brilliant Dr. Jung studied the Astrology charts of his patience for better understanding!

In fact, integration of conscious Sun traits with unconscious Moon traits is the actualization he encouraged:

“Old King Cole was a merry old soul and a merry old soul was he; he called for his wife and he called for his bowl and he called for his fiddlers three…Pygmalion:  ‘My Fair Lady’: Eliza Doolittle is transformed into a duchess…A master potter turns dull clay into an exquisite vase.” (‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

And here’s a note on Old King Cole who was an early Celtic chieftan of the British Isles and from what I can find, was left in charge when the Romans appropriated the place. Actually, there seems to have been three of them – father, son, grandson, and all may have been rulers.

At least one of them (my guess would be the father) is thought by some historians to have been an astrologer – if so,  he lent his name to our modern Astrology charts by way of Medium Coeli/Immum Coeli. In Roman Britain his name was King Coelius or Coilius –  ‘Coel’ meaning ‘sky’ or ‘heaven.’

The current day Coil, Cole, Coel, Coal, Coile, Coyles, Kyle, Kile families may be descendants of his ancient clan. The above ditty uses ‘wife’ yet I’m more accustomed to ‘he called for his pipe and he called for his bowl’ .

In Britain there remain the towns of Coilsfield and Coylton which bear his ancient name and this particular ‘Cowell’ would like to visit there sometime!

Interestingly one of Old King Cole’s symbols of authority is the Caprington horn (photo below) which brings in the root word for Capricorn, the sign ruled by Old King Saturn.

And yes, I have four planets in Capricorn: Sun, Jupiter, Mercury, and Mars…and that’s plenty of Saturn for a Saturnian astrologer, don’t you think?!

Bankruptcy-bound America?

U.S. Headed Toward Bankruptcy, Says Top Budget Committee Republican

By Terence P. Jeffrey

The ranking Republican on the House Budget Committee said the U.S. government is
headed toward bankruptcy if it stays on its current fiscal course.

Well, how nice of him to let us know – so all is going just as planned. We’ll be accepting any “solutions” offered when the cupboard’s bareness can no longer be denied – and at long last the power elite – both “Republicans” and “Democrats” can break the New Deal into its last smithereens.

It’s Gingrich’s “Contract (on) America” being fulfilled. Seems the neocon “Prayer Breakfast” crowd took out a Family-style contract on our nation and her populace and America is going down in financial flames with “faith-based intitiatives” blazing. Not that these crooks were first in line for the job which has been in the works for decades.

Patience and timing are the keys which so often determine the ultimate success of any plan, aren’t they?

After the attacks of 9/11, I got myself told off roundly online many times by those who shouted in CAPS that “America is too rich to ever go bankrupt” yet now we can all see how these determined ideologues, who consider themselves above morality, can finagle our country’s demise at our dire cost for their obscene gain.

Politics! it’ll get your goat every time…which is semi-ironic considering Washington DC’s satanic ‘goat of Mendes’ symbol which links perfectly to the authoritative sign of Capricorn and its ‘business, law, and politics’  interests.

TV’s Craig Ferguson comedy clips link

A couple of routines by TV’s Craig Ferguson may be viewed uproariously here:

From his invisible sidekick Davis to his I KNOW~W~W! cry of the true Aquarian (who Knows), you can’t do better for your funnybone after midnight than to watch Craig Ferguson’s cheeky monkeys and other guests…although I must say he’s neglecting to use animal sound effects of late. Yes, The Late Late Show has been honored by his imaginative company of cats, kittens, dogs, monkeys, gorillas, lemurs and other furry friends.

Last evening I celebrated Madagascar Day with Craig. Hope you didn’t miss it!

The comedy smorgasbord of TV’s Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show (one too many Lates for my schedule, but sometimes only Craig will do) is for those still in withdrawal from lack of Monthy Python.

After all, one can only watch A Fish Called Wanda so many times before it becomes like white noise–which sadly goes double for The Holy Grail and The Life of Brian, one of the most underrated films of the genre since Neptune was discovered in 1846 and photography began. Could Hollywood be far behind?

Well, no. It wasn’t.

Objects Are Closer Than They Appear (warning: this post will now vere into ultimate regions, so be wary unless you’re very sure of yourself):

You know it won’t do to forget to consider asap your ultimate and true condition before our Creator who cares where each of us spends eternity. Now THAT’s the sort of fearmongering that might actually do you, and the world, some good. And happily this well-meant heads-up is of the longlasting kind, not a flash in the proverbial pan being marketed to us 24/7.

Pan…glad you wondered about where the little dickens is at this very moment…hold on a few while I go check him out in my Solar Fire software…this post will be published and I’ll endeavor to return to update with details of Pan’s current flutey location. You know he’s one of the oldest archetypal figures in any culture. You could say his myth or tale is older than the hills and you’d probably be right!

One of the trickster figures in an astrology chart (aka horoscope; map; roadmap; hologram; mandala; birth chart), Pan emcompasses the concept of the trickster element or “artful dodger,” an archetype which is strong in my own chart with Mercury as ASC and MC ruler, planets in Capricorn (the sign associated closely with Pan since Cap is the Mer-Goat, the joining of Earth and Water, the oldest elements creating the Potter’s clay of Genesis. Natally my Capr Jupiter is linked with the Fixed Star, Sualocin, another of the tricksters! This Star also relates to the playful dolphin. Perhaps he’s a bit like the playful yet invisible sidekick, Davis, for Ferguson the conedian is quite the Mercurial change artist within his skit comedy, a veritable Prometheus, it seems.

Whew! this post wandered off the path with the astrology and Scriptural stuff….or did it?

Back Down to Earth Please But With a Twist of Neptunian Dreaminess:

Finally! I’ve decided on who will be the CelebChart Queen (a featured CelebChart written upon by this reluctant astrologer) but life gets busy in summery hot Georgia, so Ms _____ will have to wait until perhaps tomorrow…day of the Sun, first day of the week. Btw: here at WordPress something stunned me yesterday. I don’t know why I had not noticed before but the Calendar in my sidebar here on Jude’s Threshold has Moon-Day MONday as if it’s the first day of the week.

Puh! Moon starts week ahead of Sunday’s Sun? East over West?  Hmm…m..m.m….the poles are in process of shifting, ’tis true, but isn’t this a bit of an obvious morph of import for WordPress to pass on to an unsuspecting astrologer-artist who only blogs for the fun of it?

Is this crazy calendar switch a young person’s interweb (thanks, Craig!) thingy? Is it a new ‘look’ for WordPress, or have I in the past assumed too much about this blog’s format? Or…is someone attempting to master time?

All I’m sayin’ is that it’s curious, that’s all. Just plain Curious with a capital C. Which is redundant if you capitalize the C…oops I did it again…as Craig says, I don’t have time to be muckin’ about here…soooo….

What Did We Learn on the Show Tonight, Craig? (meow)

Have We Got Time For An Email?

Well, combining the two, we learned that I have an email question for TV’s Craig Ferguson but will post it here since he’d never get it anyway…

Hi Craig,

After watching your show, an endless loop of your theme song plays round and round my brain.

Can you suggest an effective headache remedy without aspirin?

Just Kidding (or am I?),

Athens, Ga

ps: that’s You singing, isn’t it? Thought so.

Update 3:45 pm edt: current location of Pan 5Gem13 direct, less than 3 degrees from MIDAS 8Gem06 direct…Gemini’s trickster qualities along with its often termed ‘duplicity’ is hosting both asteroids with hoarding MIDAS being money and gold, and Pan helping to infuse markets and financial systems with more fraudulent tricks than most people imagine. These two are not the whole story but they sure are livin’ large and kickin’ butt!

Art 2008: Arachne’s Thread

Arachne’s Thread

Arachne’s Thread, paper collage by jude cowell (c) 2008 (with images from the 90s)

Usually Ariadne is the one following a thread in mythology, but here it’s Arachne. After all, Arachne’s type of spinning needs thread, too!

The asteroid Arachne’s heliocentric North Node is located at 25 Capricorn, yet this very night her transiting position is 10Libra18.

Traveling nearby (13Lib06) is the starry asteroid, Astraea, keywords: ‘justice’ and ‘law.’

As you may know, this is the same neighborhood of the zodiac as US natal Saturn from July 4, 1776–a planet which also is associated with law and with authority and control as ruler of Capricorn. (Wait a minute–is this a thread I see before me?)

Along with Uranus, Saturn, Urania, Chiron, and Mercury, Arachne may be used in charts as a very specific significator for the internet and the http://www. Her main keywords are: ‘web; network; entanglement’ and of course there is very much the spidery flavor to this lady.

Kind of like spiders crawling all over your blog and website, yes?

And if you’re fond of collages, paper or otherwise, mosey by http://collagemirage.gather.com and join the Group, whenever you darn well please!
