Romney like Reagan: an armer of rebels?
Styling himself as Reaganesque, candidate Mitt Romney is spouting off about wanting to arm Syrian rebels ‘who share our values’ which reminds me of the hot water President Ronald Reagan got himself into for arming Iranian rebels (arms-for-hostages, aka, Irangate) and then repeatedly lying about it from TV screens across America.
Both Romney and Reagan were born with Jupiter (how we relate to others) in Scorpio, a money sign of Big Business, Secrets, and Betrayals, and we know that having expansive Jupiter in the Mars-Pluto-ruled sign makes for a materialistic viewpoint, over-optimism, and a ruthless striving for possessions.
Plus, Jupiter in Scorpio craves pleasure and tends to overrate its abilities but hopefully if Mitt is placed into the Oval Office, he won’t follow Reagan’s example when it comes to shady arms-dealing.

Paul and Janna Ryan: Wedding Day Astrology
Republican Rep. Paul Ryan proposed marriage to tax attorney Janna Little in April 2000 and they were wed in Oklahoma City, OK on December 2, 2000 with approximately 400 guests attending. (Click link for more details.)
Now if the Ryans’ wedding ceremony took place at or after 9:23 pm CST, the Moon (feminine principle) had entered Pisces. If before, the Moon was in Aquarius; in both cases, the Sun (male principle) was in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius in the 10Sag21 to 11Sag22 degree range. (Dec 2, 2000 12 am CST to 11:59 pm CST.)

And as you know, idealistic Jupiter’s natural abode is the 9th house of Philosophy, Religion, and Higher Education. Plus, the Sun (husband) conjoined Pluto on that day (Pluto @12Sag39 noon CST) and neared Chiron 19Sag09. Synchronistically, the Wedding Moon at noon (@25AQ20) conjoined and reflected asteroid Juno, the wife and met Cupido 00Pis25 (family; cupidity or love) soon after Luna entered Pisces.
So which Sun-Moon blend of this the happy couple to detail? First, some basic elements to consider:
Sun Sag-Moon AQ is a ‘live wire’ Fire-Air combo of bluster and bombast and denotes those who tend to become ‘carried away’ with their own ‘eloquent’ rhetoric. Zeal for innovative ideas is notable which are then persuasively expressed to others. This is a visionary combo which must guard against impracticality; in evidence may be a tendency to be out-of-touch with the emotional realm of feelings.
Sun Sag-Moon Pisc is a Fire-Water blend which may be described as a “bulldozer” for its tendency to push ahead in the preferred direction, no matter what. This combo denotes a more practical visionary with feet kept firmly on the ground but with an instinct for the ‘main chance’. There’s a love of the good life and a talent for pulling rabbits out of hats.
Hmmm…guess we’d better look at both Sun-Moon sign combinations!
Sun Sag-Moon AQ (Janna does look to me to have ‘Aquarian blue eyes’!): intellectual and friendly, this visionary blend denotes high ideals, a breezy outspokenness, and a seeker of truth (uh-oh! guess you can always seek it so you can hide it!) All types of viewpoints are accomodated with an easy-going adaptability, and its positive outlook is willing to take risks whenever necessary; a keen social awareness may be noted which identifies with the World View, or which seeks to justify its personal eccentricities.
With this blend, life’s mundane realities present challenges, and a high-minded crusading zeal shows insensitivity to more sentimental souls. There’s a tendency to over-generalize while living in the realm of abstract ideas, and in relationships, Sun Sag-Moon AQ isn’t automatically adept at intimacy. An intelligent, strong-egoed partner is a must to keep things interesting; plus, loyalty is much prized as long as independence is part of the marriage.
Is this a passionate and romantic combination? Yes, but even so there’s usually a brotherly-sisterly quality within the partnership.
Sun Sag-Moon Pisc describes more of an emotional, imaginative blend with deep convictions, generosity, and a moralistic streak. This is The Philosopher yet the logic is irrational, the dreams fantastical. An enormous sensitivity to the human condition is prominent (and not generally found within the objectivist hearts of Ayn-Randers) along with a trusting openness–the need to give to others is an endearing quality of this combo.
Lavish expenditures may occur for this blend contains a ‘wastrel’ sub-personality! Giving the ‘shirt off one’s back’ is described here and for that reason and others (and because odds are that the Ryan nuptials took place prior to 9:23 pm), I ‘vote’ for the Sun Sag-Moon AQ blend to more closely describe the relationship and the individual partners in the Paul and Janna Ryan union.

After posting some astro-details concerning Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, deliverer of the Republican rebuttal to President Obama’s SOTU 2011 Address of last evening, I discovered that Who Runs Gov? has a bio on the congressman and Why He Matters.

An astro-peek at Nevada’s Sharron Angle – Leo Leo Leo!
Update July 6, 2010: Harry Reid and Sharron Angle are having themselves quite a heated tussle.

Born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on July 26, 1949, November 2010 Republican nominee for Nevada’s US Senate seat, Sharron Angle, has quite a controversial political record.
But that’s not the purpose of this post. Its purpose is to take a brief astro-peek at an up-and-coming Republican lady of note and see what can be seen – and in Angle’s case, it’s Leo, Leo, Leo, and more Leo.
Proud, entertaining, and possessed of a deep need for approval, applause, and affection, Sharron Angle was born with Sun 3Leo+, Moon 9 – 24 Leo (birth hour unknown), Mercury 2 – 5 Leo, Pluto in mid-degrees of Leo.
Her Mars and Uranus are closely conjoined around 2Can+ which places two of her midpoints conjunct natal Sun and Mercury (which are
‘cazimi’ with Mercury so near the Sun, a condition said in olden days to strengthen the planet, here, Mercury, her thinking and communicating planet.)
The two midpoints are hard working Mars/Saturn and brittle Saturn/Uranus so we may wish to consider the midpoint pictures influencing Angle’s adult personality, essence, and life purpose (Sun) and her thinking processes, communicating abilities, and other mercurial associations:
Mars/Saturn = Sun: eking it out; a sense of loss; the inability to meet all demands or to master all situations; possible health threat.

That last interests me since Angle’s website has recently been updated morphing some of her more radical positions on certain issues into more moderate stances. Her state record is chocked full of No votes, as you may remember, since she’s well known for it.
(Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, voting No on every issue can seem….well, truculent rather than constructive. Perhaps this pile-up of planetary energies concentrated around 2 – 5 Leo explains some of Angle’s one-sidedness since Leo is the sign of ego, stubborness, with its first 5 degrees marking the most Leonine area of the zodiac.)
Both Mars and Uranus are out-of-bounds so they may not ‘play nice’ with the other kids and their very close conjunction makes for an unrestrained, forceful, and energetic pursuer of goals and a risk-taker; hopefully her Saturn provides enough stability to make playing by the rules more of a possibility. Mars/Uranus conjoined indicates one who challenges powerful governmental officials, and threats may be used against them when public support backs her up (which helps to dramatize her point.)
Also conjunct Sun and Mercury is asteroid Atlantis, which has associations with America, the Atlantic Ocean, and well…the myth of Atlantis; the asteroid has these keyphrases: a sense of doom and/or abuse of power.
Now you know that natal Moon in Leo often has a bossy streak with its ‘reigning need’ (Tyl) for applause and such, as noted above. And with Jupiter 26Cap26 Rx, she’s got that mavericky thing goin’ on, supported by a quirky, unpredictable Mars/Uranus conjunction which can also have a ‘maverick’ vibe.
Plus, 26 – 27Cap puts natal Jupiter at the Midheaven of our nation’s inaugural charts each year (Jan 20, noon, DC) so perhaps dreams of a White House run taunt Sharron Angle as they’ve done Sarah Palin.

Of quakes, earth wobbles, shorter days, and Rangel
Here’s an article that explains what’s going on with last weekend’s massive 8.8 Chilean quake and its effect on earth’s wobble.
Shorter days are said to be a result of the quake in Chile and one may suppose that ethics-challenged Charlie Rangel’s stepping down from the Chairmanship of the Tax-Writing panel in Washington DC may result in shorter days for him as well.
This morning at 10:03 am est, I happened to have C-SPAN tuned in when Rangel’s brief resignation letter was read on the floor and immediately accepted.
A 29th ‘critical’ or ‘crisis’ degree was rising: 29Taurus18, making Venus, who loves to deal with valuable things, the letter’s chart-ruler.

Massive bailouts then transferred wealth to those who were already wealthy – a neat hat trick courtesy of our ‘Halloween Jesters’ unless you’re one of their many victims. And who isn’t?)

This would include the memorial service now underway for Rep John Murtha, the first Vietnam veteran elected to serve in the US Congress, and himself fallen in recent years under his own challenged-ethics cloud. Yet Rep Murtha was a champion on behalf of our troops and I thank him sincerely for that. May he RIP.

Well, I don’t know if it took a ‘team of writers’ to compose Rep Rangel’s letter of resignation (a step-down which is said to be “temporary”) since it was too brief to glean its brilliance readily but it’s a dance step that had to be taken by Mr. Rangel.
I hear Tom Delay’s former spot in the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ line-up of hoofers may be available. All parading peacocks with Taurean hoofs may wish to apply.
Sarah Palin’s correct birth time may be found
Political Astrology Blog says a correct birth time for Sarah Palin is now discovered.
The time being reported is ‘6:00 pm’ but as astrologers know, that’s most often a rounded-off time since very few babies ‘clock in’ at so precisely the top of an hour.
So have fun if you haven’t seen this new version of her natal chart before–and don’t be fooled if there’s any foolin’ to be done!
