Astrology of the 2020 Election

Having just published a post on Stars Over Washington concerning
2020 Election Day (horoscope/s shown) here are a few astro-notes on Election Day 2020’s Sun Scorpio-Moon Gemini blend of energies with the day’s Moon ranging from 9Gem27 to 21Gem29 and Sun, as usual, in Scorpio. Note that a Gemini Moon suggests a changeable, unstable, or of-two-minds public mood of We The People.

This Water-Air blend is an ethereal mix of restlessness and volatility, and contains a sense of ‘splitness and division’. There’s a ‘quest for understanding’ though given how truth has fared in America of late under the-prevaricator-in-chief, this may indicate that the voting public’s need for facts will be, as is common, a wild goose chase. Emotional security is longed for along with the physical kind but this may be inconvenient for (cheating) leaders who use the ‘success at any cost’ and ‘ends justify means’ models of behavior. They pretend that cheating is winning! Continuing such pretense must take a psychic toll on their emotions though lack of a conscience or its neglect makes everything possible.

Anyway, I think the ‘Images for Integration’ for the Sun Scorpio-Moon Gemini combination on Election Day 2020 are revealing as given by Charles and Suzi Harvey in their book, Sun Sign-Moon Sign–see what you think while noting the Russian reference:

“Trivial Pursuits goes macabre…A virtuoso violinist touches the hearts of her audience…The mystery of life in a strip cartoon…Dostoyevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov…Rodin’s The Kiss, Hands.”

Well, on the ‘fun side’ the Sun-Moon blend of November 3, 2020 includes a ‘glorious sense of the ridiculous’ which may turn out to be a comedic balm for our wounded nation while it installs a clown into the Oval Office.

Donald Trump and Carelli’s 4 Virgo Symbol

On October 25, 2017 on Stars Over Washington I published a post concerning the 2017 and 2019 Secondary Progressed (SP) New Moons of Donald Trump (2019) and Adolf Hitler (2017).

That both SP New Moons fall upon 3Virgo+ seems significant to me due to the degree’s Sabian Symbol and the shared bigotry and eugenic-style views of both politicians. Follow the link for the entire picture but its gist is, “Black and White Children Play Together Happily…”. Also note that the post also contains the natal midpoint pictures of Trump and Hitler (for the sake of comparison).

As you know, Trump was ‘victor’ in 2016 and was inaugurated in 2017 while mired within his Balsamic phase of the Moon, the darkened phase full of endings and separations, a time when sneakiness abounds and things can ‘go bump in the night’. Symbolically, he remains within it now yet light will begin to dawn and a glimmer of a new phase of life will begin with his SP New Moon which perfects on September 19, 2019 in early Virgo- not that an instant difference will be felt or observed.

Here I shall add to the Sabian Symbol a partial quote concerning what *Adriano Carelli has to say about ‘4 Virgo’ to which I have added a few remarks in (italics):

“A steamroller”: A craze for planning and technology; a naive faith in purely mechanical progress; contempt for individual distinctions; love of the extreme and of the absolute. Some features of fatality in the existence, something inexorable in the character. A massive strength, an ability to lay out on broad lines work to be carried out by others and to give it the finishing touches after completion.

This same force, instead of preparing and perfecting usefully the work of others, can stay fruitless and can sponge upon its environment; or, even worse, instead of loveling (leveling? jc) and paving the way for the execution of the work planned, he can be employed to destroy and raze everything aimlessly to the ground.

{}

…where the stars point to fondness for the fruitless, artificial life usually led by the smartest set of society, a rush for pleasure will swallow up wealth laboriously built up by the ancestors. Plenty of well-meaning and helpful friends will be powerless to save the native from bankruptcy; once collapsed, neither his taste nor his artistic gifts (‘The Art of the Deal’? jc) will be of any avail. A third case is possible: an aggressive, destructive, brutal, and despotically leveling nature–in a word, a downright Vandalic or Hunnish character.

Undeniable in all cases is a profound sense of truth (he knows it but won’t tell it! jc), unaccountably coupled with fast living or ruthless destructiveness. (Or  both–jc.)

Example: in this degree is the Third Reich’s Mars as ruler of the Sun (Sun’s degree) and therefore lord of the MC, viz., indicative of the government and the army.”

Also note that a solar eclipse in Mr. Trump’s Prenatal Solar Eclipse (PE) Saros Series (2 Old North) perfects on July 12, 2018 with themes of ‘unfortunate news’ and ‘endings and separations’ yet ‘fast action can bring good results’ (Brady).

edit 13 July 2018: who exactly are the results good for? jc

‘4 Virgo’ quote from Carelli’s 360 Degrees of the Zodiac (1950).

James Dean’s Fatal Car Crash: an Eclipse Triggered

Teen icon and “genius” actor James Dean was obsessed with speed and with doing things his own way, it is always noted, and his new Porsche Spyder convertible had little chance to give him joy or the racing victories he sought since production of his third film, Giant, had wrapped up. Instead, the 24-year-old’s new Spyder very soon acted as a method of death during a road trip to auto races in Salinas, California on September 30, 1955. At 5:45 pm near Chalome, California the driver of a heavier Ford Tudor coupe driven by student Donald Turnupseed made a left turn across the Y-shaped intersection directly into Dean’s path.

The officially declared “Year of the Teenager”–1956–had not yet dawned in September 1955 and archetypal teenager James Dean had already left the world stage forever.

Astrologers who use the YOD planetary configuration with its ‘crossroads; crisis; turning point; special task’ implications may instantly recognize the road conditions and actions on that day reflected in a YOD-like situation in addition to a transit of dangerous proportions for accident-prone Uranus was triggering Dean’s natal Mars in Leo!

In the car crash chart, a YOD formed as the Moon (physical body) rose @27Pis41 (conjunct Dean’s progressed Ascendant–@28Pis43 if we progress the natal chart to Chalome, CA). Moon opposes SP Moon @25Vir29 (in SP 6th house of Health) with racing Mars @22Vir04 nearing conjunction with SP Moon. So transiting Moon and tr Mars are Angular in Dean’s progressed chart. MC/IC Angles are at critical 29th degrees (MC 29Sag/IC 29Gem).

The car crash is timed by the rising Moon in late Pisces (had he smoked marijuana? He was known to) for at 5:45 pm Luna reached the apex of a YOD with the Neptune-Pluto sextile at its base–all three at 27 degrees which adds to the karmic or fated quality of the tragic event. And if we include the 28th degree Mercury in a sextile with deathly Pluto, the YOD condition becomes more complex and indicative of a crossroads/turning point event of life-changing importance made even more likely his purchase of a race car.

The Neptune-Pluto pair also hints at drug use along with otherworldiness, mysticism, and perhaps more to the point–crooks, swindlers, and organized crime. Separately, both planets are linked with end-of-life conditions and events with one of Pluto’s roles the god of Hades. And with a 12th house apex Moon in a YOD pattern with them we think of 12th house realms such as karma, self-undoing, hospitals, and secret enemies. Chances are, Dean had made quite a few enemies in Hollywood and New York with his rude, use-them-while-they-benefit-you behavior.

And this troublesome teen icon as leader of a generation of rebellious American kids? Uh-oh! Perhaps the Solar Eclipse Series of Dean’s death is of importance? That would be the 11 South which manifested in Jimmy’s natal 3rd house of Short Trips on June 20, 1955 @28Gemini–conjunct his progressed IC (End of Life, Separations). 11 South themes include system failures, old ideas or methods die and need replacing with new ways of handling issues, sudden reforms, and “any blocks may be violently or tragically removed” (Brady, ‘Predictive Astrology’.)

Now if you’ve studied James Dean’s natal horoscope (February 8, 1931 9:00 am CST Marion, IN), you know that this disruptive, conflicted rebel was born with electrical planet Uranus rising at critical degree: ASC 12Ari13, Uranus 12Ari26, a picture of coping ability, sudden crises, individuality, originality, and yes, genius. And of course, an Aries Ascendant makes racing Mars his chart-ruler, here posited in the 5th house of Risk-Taking and Creative Endeavors (such as theater and film acting) in the self-dramatizing, entertaining sign of Leo the Lion (@2:24 Rx). Plus, his natal Uranus in Mars-ruled Aries identifies him among such characters as anarchists, Utopians, and those with a zealous, cantankerous streak.

That his testy Mars was retrograde added to Dean’s tendency to do the unexpected thing and to go against the grain, and he often received criticism from colleagues for being difficult to work with. They never knew what sort of performance he would give until he gave it and he was super-sensitive to any and all criticism or direction–a sense of self-determination is a must for eccentric Uranus rising folk. Plus, a natal 7th house Moon in sensitive Scorpio (early death of Mother) squared Mars making for an emotionally touchy nature and explosive temper for this abandoned child who ended most of his personal relationships before others could break off with him (relating Jupiter Rx and square separative Uranus). This habit applied to relationships with guys and gals and there is a hint of sexual lack of follow through shown in the natal chart (Venus inconjunct Mars). Apparently, personal relationships were either emotionally satisfying to some degree (Venus ruled by Saturn) or were sexually so (Mars in Sun-ruled Leo.)

Now there are many other factors worth considering in the natal horoscope and psyche of James Dean yet this post is actually meant more for notating a certain cosmic condition operating on the day of his death and detailed, below, under ‘Dean’s Pre-Natal Eclipse Triggered’.

That some people since 1955 have proposed deliberate assassination of this budding Hollywood star (said to be bisexual and thus privy to certain other stars’ romantic secrets which if blurted out by the unpredictable Dean would ruin careers and devastate studio bottom lines) is also beyond the scope of this post though a small mention of such may be necessary, below. (Donald ‘Turnupseed’…’Turn Up Speed’?? Weird!)

Dean’s many obsessions and psychological complexes may be viewed within the gestalt of his natal chart, made obvious by an excruciatingly tragic childhood: his beloved, creative Mother died of cancer when he was 9 (or, 8, he said in an interview, linked below). Then his rigid, cold Dad packed his grieving son off to live with relatives in Fairmount, Indiana. In the heavens on his day and hour of birth, we see difficult configurations across the Parental-Security axis–the 4/10 houses and Cancer-Capricorn, a sad, depressive, restrictive Moon-Saturn signature which was lightened somewhat by a Moon-Jupiter trine and an imaginative Moon-Neptune sextile of opportunity. (While alive, his Mom always lifted his spirits with play-acting and such–‘the actor’ able to easily display for an audience a myriad of emotions across his expressive face! See a telling note concerning their marriage blend of Sun and Moon, below.)

And consider Dean’s Cancer-Capricorn planets! Jupiter @11Can36 Rx and powerful manipulator Pluto @19Can12 Rx in 4th house opposite old man Saturn @18Cap09, its own sign, and little boy Mercury @26Cap01 in 10th house. Except for Mercury, all are significators for Father and the authority Dean constantly rebelled against (well demonstrated in his second film, Rebel Without a Cause)…yet there in 10th house is small, ‘speedy’ Mercury with its well-structured mind that naturally tends toward the depressive side in Saturn-ruled Capricorn (a harsh Saturn-Pluto opposition–1A03–ouch!)

With rave reviews of his inspired performance in ‘East of Eden’ now to his credit, James Dean was approaching the verge of finding his inner authority when his life was cut short–and directing was his eventual career goal. Yet psychological improvement may have been far in the future considering his natal Sun-Neptune quindecile (165 degrees), an aspect suggesting a hidden or unknown personal identity (Sun) and may also denote actors who must hide behind masks to win approval and must work hard to define themselves–to themselves, most of all. You see, Father disapproved of a son he considered ‘effeminate’, a son whose Mother had him taking violin and tap dancing lessons.

So on September 30, 1955, the Aquarian Sun actor and developing matinee idol was glad to be free for a while to pursue his longtime love of car racing once Giant had wrapped. Soon he was off to Salinas on a beautiful autumn day with a Porsche car mechanic riding by his side and other of his team following in a vehicle behind. But then Turnupseed turned up at the Mercurial crossroad and the rest is legend.

Dean’s Pre-Natal Solar Eclipse Triggered

James Dean was born into a difficult Solar Eclipse Saros Series, the 4 South. A South Node eclipse denotes an out rushing of energy and has a Saturnian, separative undertone. (Getting swiped by the Tail of the Dragon is seldom if ever fun.)

4 South themes involve fated happenings in financial and relationship matters which feel out of control; blocked or frustrated emotions cause trouble, and there may be a sudden desire to end a relationship (Dean’s forte). Avoiding rash actions until things settle down is the best advice when 4 South is influencing matters (Brady) yet it’s doubtful James Dean would have listened if an astrologer had counseled caution at any point in his brief life, much less on a liberating day just made for racing a new Porsche. Perhaps getting the hay out of town while enjoying new vistas was his way of avoidance.

Yes, 4 South is merely a background influence in his life unless activated by transit or progression so what triggered or stimulated its themes at his death? Actually, there are two: Mercury, planet of travel and vehicles, was Stationary Retrograde at that moment @28Lib37 conjunct transiting Neptune @27Lib12, both in 8th house of Transformation and Death, and both conjoining Dean’s PE degree of 27Lib46–an exact double ‘hit’ to 4 South. Transiting Neptune brings a veiling, deceptive influence with a higher plane possibly in the mix as well (ex: death) and when applicable, may also supply the potential for assassination or murder. Certainly, Neptune, planet of the Unconscious, contributed to a loss of direction, or to taking the wrong path which may describe the events of this accident, if indeed it was that.

Meanwhile, speedy Mercury, strengthened by its Station, rules such things as communications, thinking processes, perceptions and impressions, hand-eye coordination, and the physical senses–including eyesight (Dean’s was not good so he wore glasses). But was the collision really Dean’s mistake?

Perhaps his last words to his passenger yelled into the rushing wind (Neptune) are telling of the fatal crash’s planetary implications including the confused, out-of-sync Mercury-Neptune conjunction (a restless, often deluded pair of energies when blended) as they conjoined Dean’s PE and thus may have affected his ill-advised bolt toward freedom on that day as he separated himself from others:

Dean’s Porsche had the right-of-way as Turnupseed’s Ford unexpectedly crossed the road and smashed into the actor who said as he accelerated, “That guy’s gotta see us–he’ll stop,” an unfortunate, tragic misperception of the other driver’s intentions since, occurring at dusk, Turnupseed may not have seen the gray, low-slung convertible at all as Dean assumed (his progressions show an SP opposition between Mercury in confused yet creative Pisces and Neptune Rx in Virgo–across the 6/12 Vir-Pis axis (victim-savior). Perhaps the collision was only Dean’s mistake.

James Dean was pronounced dead shortly after with internal injuries and a broken neck, jaw, and arms. His passenger, the Porsche mechanic, felt guilty for the rest of life, it is said, yet he survived the 1955 accident with injuries but perished in a car crash in 1981. Mr. Turnupseed suffered minor injuries in 1955 but basically ‘walked away’ leaving Dean’s Porsche a tangled, crushed mess of metal–and millions of fans bereft. No charges were brought against 23-year-old Turnupseed.

As for James Dean’s natal 1st house Chiron, the Wounded Healer and Blindspot, its natal degree and sign, 14Tau07, is a placement indicating a crisis concerning values and one’s physical incarnation on Earth (Clow); plus, Chiron conjoins difficult Fixed Star, Menkar, in constellation Cetus, the Whale–‘a victim of the unconscious’ indicator which supports Dean’s untimely Mercury-Neptune misperception and his tragic misreading of environmental conditions which led to fatality.

Now a word about the ‘shotgun wedding’ of James Dean’s parents, Winton and Mildred (who was 2 months pregnant.) Their early afternoon ceremony on July 26, 1930 (Marion, IN) shows Sun (male; husband) and Moon (female; wife) in Leo with the Moon conjoining Mercury @15Leo, the Lion Point. Mercury may be seen as James, her unborn child and this is supported by the blend’s apt ‘Image for Integration’ given by Charles and Suzi Harvey in ‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’:

“A child in an Edenic paradise builds a beautiful sandcastle in the sunshine with all the creatures of nature in joyous attendance.”

Shades of play-acting with Mom, later with colleagues, and of the disruptive rebel whose unique, magnetic talent for acting stole the show in ‘East of Eden’!

As noted, James Dean’s natal horoscope is a fascinating study full of conflicted emotions and parental complexes if you haven’t checked it out and I recommend it to you, plus, there are many biographies of his life in print and now available on Kindle.

My primary source during preparation for this post is Donald Spoto’s ‘Rebel: The Life and Legend of James Dean’. Also recommended are the following related links, the first of which is an excellent article by master astrologer Tony Louis:

Mars and the Passion for Speed (includes interesting links to follow, plus, horoscopes.)

Here are a few notes from the History Channel: James Dean Dies in a Car Accident.

Plus, columnist Hedda Hopper’s famous interview with Dean published March 27, 1955: Keep Your Eye on James Dean, subtitled, “Indiana Farm Boy, 23, Scores a Smash Hit in His First Film” (‘East of Eden’, with its spun sandcastles upon a California beach.) The caption under his photo reads, “James Dean…wins “young genius” label” and reports that onscreen Dean has an “exciting tenseness and the gift for projecting ever-changing moods.”

Now is such a Scorpio Moon-drenched assessment of his talent Uranian enough for you?

Pisces New Moon forms Solar Eclipse from Space!

Celestial Path and Beyond

Well, I knew about today’s New Moon in Pisces, of course, but how cosmic and cool is this?

Space Weather News for Feb. 21, 2012

SOLAR ECLIPSE FROM SPACE: Earlier today the new Moon passed in front of the sun, producing a solar eclipse visible from space. High-resolution images of the event captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory are featured on the Feb. 21st edition of SpaceWeather News.

Check out a few astro-details I’ve posted concerning today’s New Moon @ 3Pis42, exact at 5:34 pm est with Regulus Rising in Washington DC. As you know, Regulus is one of the Royal Stars of Persia with one major caution: success if revenge is avoided–too bad over-reaching Washington and the Pentagon seldom if ever take such good advice.

Tweeting Bloomsday June 16 1904 – 2011 (Astrology)

Are you one of the participants today who is tweeting from James Joyce’s brilliant stream-of-consciousness novel Ulysses? Mega-kudos to you!

Then perhaps you caught this morning’s NPR interview with Stephen Cole, founder of the Ulysses Meets Twitter project where each tweet represents approximtely 8 pages from the book.

Nearly 800 pages long, Ulysses details a day in the life of Leopold Bloom, an epic novel describing an ‘epic day’ of 24 hours stretched over almost 800 pages – a wild concept for its time. Yes, I did try to plow through it in school and though I usually completed whatever book I began in those days, this one won the battle and was deserted for more interesting novels such as those by Hardy, Dickens, Burroughs, Dreiser, Wharton, Poe, and the like. Sorry Mr. Joyce!

But this Ulysses-Twitter project is a grand idea, isn’t it?

And the date ‘June 16, 1904’ falls within a very interesting historical period which I wrote about for Julie Demboski‘s Fall Issue of her Eclipse e-zine (now a subscription newsletter and worth every penny for Julie’s deep insights and masterful astrological overview!)

My Eclipse article (rather dry unless you appreciate Mundane-Political Astrology mixed with dusty History) is titled, “American Empire: When Jupiter Bowed to the Sun” and relates to the sea change in American government when our ideological (Jupiter) course was expanded and diverted and we ended up – as we now experience – as the world’s police force and imperial (Jupiter) occupier who overspends into oblivion. But I digress…

So what was going on in the heavens on June 16, 1904?

On Earth it was a busy year which began on January 1st with opium production and ended with the first-ever New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square NYC, then known as Longacre Square. Politically of note is November 8, 1904 when Freemason and Jupiterian Teddy Roosevelt won election as US President.

Check out other Events of 1904 as you wish and yes, you’ll find that Bloomsday made the list. And there’s Tennyson’s poem Ulysses about the restless hero.

Astrologically, the 24-hour period of June 16, 1904 began during a Hour of expansive Jupiter trine Uranus posited in Jupiter’s sign of Sagittarius (28:05 Rx); powerful transformer Pluto 20:17 passionately conjoins Venus @ 18Gem31, Sun 24Gem36, and nebulous, creative Neptune 5Can13.

You notice that 1904’s Neptune conjoined US natal Jupiter (‘6 Cancer’ = “Gamebirds Feathering Their Nests” (and they still do.) This transit to US n Jupiter indicates speculation – many get-rich-quick schemes were promoted to the unwary, illusion mixed disastrously with extravagance and exaggeration, and idealism was enhanced. We’re now seeing results from this long-ago influence along with other portents of corruption (Neptune) and bankruptcy and debt default issues.

Benefits came from writing, publishing, advertising, sales, marine pursuits, the justice system, the father, as other Jupiterian-Neptunian themes abounded in 1904 with the two planets being ruler and higher-octave ruler of mystical Pisces.

Jupiter’s position on June 16, 1904 @ ’25 Aries’ gives an interesting Sabian Symbol (word picture): “A Double Promise Reveals Its Inner and Outer Meanings.” (Marc Edmund Jones.)

Now I know not where-of I speak as far as Joyce’s novel goes, I’m only reading the horoscopes for 12:00 am, noon, and 11:59:59 pm EST, with Dublin Ireland as the location – for the 24-hour period detailed in Ulysses.

One factor of note since we may take the Sun as significator for Leopold Bloom, our hero: an opposition between Sun and quirky Uranus which was applying during the 24-hour period.

Sun opposite Uranus indicates a willful, erratic, and restless character, one who is independent, hypersensitive, tense, irritable, and high-strung. (Does this describe Mr. Bloom at all? You tell me, oh readers of Ulysses!)

At times, a Sun/Uranus opposition may deliberately flaunt convention just for the sake of causing controversy and excitement. Perhaps this denotes Mr. Joyce’s innovative writing and personality more than it does Mr. Bloom – or both. Impatience may block sustained effort though that’s hard to imagine with an 800-page novel which had to take a while to think up and write.

Mentally exceptional with unusual talents, a Sun/Uranus opposition shows an original genius but one whose quirky changeableness can be his own worst enemy for he is difficult for others to deal with and insists that all be done ‘his way’…a revolutionary and a rebel!

As TIME’s James Joyce bio states, “Ulysses revolutionized 20th century fiction” with June 16, 1904 Astrology as a testament to the genius of a Sun/Uranus opposition shining through this innovator’s literary tour de force (a forcefull Mars/Pluto conjunction, and Mercury the final dispositor in its own writers’ sign of Gemini; publishing Jupiter is the pioneering sign of Aries. Moon reaches creative, dramatic Leo during the day, too; Joyce’s Syzygy Moon – the last lunation prior to birth – @ 29Cap34 was transited by shaman, priest, and Wounded Healer Chiron (29:09 Rx) on Bloomsday 1904.

During the 24-hour period of Bloomsday 1904, there forms a notable midpoint picture which depends on timing since MC (Career; Aspirations; Public Status) is involved yet it may be significant to our topic:

Saturn/MC = Jupiter: simplicity; modesty; contentment; clinging to hopes. (Ebertin; any, all, or none may apply, as below.)

The study of a 24-hour period always intrigues me and this day no less for a midpoint picture which begins with Venus at its apex (focus) has sexy, psychological Pluto joining it prior to day’s end. Here are the word pictures they form…

Mercury/Neptune = Venus: rapturous imaginings; expecting too much from love.

Mercury/Neptune = Pluto: unusual actions originate in the subconscious mind (a stream of consciousness novel!); drawing highly upon nervous energy.

Bloom, Joyce, or both?

June 16, 1904’s Solar Eclipse Saros Series (14 South) provides an undertone of influences and it’s one I dread in 2011 because it manifests again on *May 20, 2012 @ ’00Gem’ (conjunct Fixed Star, Alcyone: ‘something to cry about‘); the initial eclipse in the Series on August 29, 984 OS has a load of Mercury-Pluto content which indicates obsession, spying, and propaganda:

Paraphrasing Brady’s Predictive Astrology, 14S = ‘long periods of hard work (writing Ulysses? jc) bring long-awaited breakthroughs and success; an obsessive idea is finally accepted (NWO in 2012? jc) which brings the promised success of Jupiter’.

James Joyce, the Man

Mr. Joyce was born near Dublin, Ireland on February 2, 1882 during the Great Conjunction/s of Neptune and Pluto, the Robber Baron duet of resource plunderers everywhere.

Using a ‘noon’ horoscope set for Dublin, we see an applying inconjunct (aka, quincunx) between Uranus and natal Sun 13AQ37 (AQ ruled by Saturn and co-ruled by quirky genius Uranus which makes the Sun/Uranus aspect more significant in his personality and hero’s journey of the Sun, all of which resonates with the Sun/Uranus opposition of June 16, 1904.)

A Sun/Uranus inconjunct gives a tendency toward self-sacrifice and others may impose within one’s career by making one feel guilty. Yet freeing the minds of others is an imperative for this inventor yet the actual aspect – 148 degrees – is second in importance to the fact that Sun and Uranus are in contact at all in both charts(Transpersonal meets Personal, an echo of the Ulysses Meets Twitter’s tweeters 2011.)

Of interest is that his natal Neptune 13Tau48 and Pluto 27Tau21 Rx have an idealistic Jupiter/Chiron conjunction snugged between them. Jupiter conjunct Chiron denotes a ‘rainbow chaser’ so his novel Finnegan’s Rainbow naturally comes to mind, another groundbreaking literary effort by Mr. Joyce.

His writers’ planet Mercury @ 00Pis51 is now – June 16, 2011 – being transited by creative if confusing Neptune (‘1 Pisces’ = “A Public Market”…Twitter?) Plus, Neptune rules nets, webs, and networks, so we see that in 2011, there’s a vibe of the Internet ‘web’ touching Joyce’s natal planet of writing and communication as his method of self-expression is spotlighted yet magically changed by the catalyst of watery Neptune.

Well, I suggest you take a peek at the charts for June 16, 1904 and at Joyce’s natal horoscope for more details since my blogging time this morning is at an end.

There’s a lot of obsession (Venus-Pluto-Mars trio) in the Bloomsday horoscope (plus, the 14S Solar Eclipse vibes) along with a very creative Sun/Neptune conjunction though it is out-of-sign (Gemini-Cancer); this planetary contact in 1904 focuses on Joyce’s natal Sun/Neptune square which indicates one who spins castles in the air, a perfectly desireable trait and aspect for an inventive genius of a writer who manages to control and use its creative energies productively in the real world.

Lunar Eclipse 14AQ Aug 5, 2009

There must be gracious plenty articles and posts available online just now concerning the August 5th (or Aug 6th, depending on your time zone) Lunar Eclipse at 14Aquarius, so I shall recommend them all for gaining an overview of opinions and insights.

But if you’d like to check out my own notes with chart image included, try this link, if you wish.

A Political Astrology flavor will be in evidence, however, with the chart set for the White House…just so you’re aware before you click.

And if you know where the 14AQ/14Leo axis falls within your own natal and progressed charts, you’ll know where to expect changes and/or revelations from the August 2009 Lunar Eclipse.

14AQ’s aspects to natal and progressed planets and house rulers’ influences should be taken into account for a more accurate picture.

Then there are correspondances: say your Sun or Moon are in Leo or AQ – you may be more influenced or affected by Eclipses in either of those signs than say one who has the luminaries in other signs natally, no matter at which degree/s.

~Update August 3, 1:35 am edt~

August 5 Eclipse info now ‘new and improved’ with the Lunar Elipse’s Mystic Rectangle pattern noted in the chart.

‘New President’ Eclipse Jan 2009

As you know, a Solar Eclipse will greet our new president barely 6 days into the new adminstration’s term, on Jan 26, 2009, at 6AQ30.

>Update Oct 20: Page with ‘New President Eclipse 1.26.09′ now in sidebar…original post continues here:

At the moment I’m working on an article with chart image concerning this important occurrence, for not many US presidents have a Solar Eclipse (of any description) plopped upon their desks so soon after taking the Oath of Office.

A few minutes ago I managed to post a bit on the Eclipse and on the Sabian Symbols involved especially since 6AQ30 happens to be conjunct America’s natal South Node degree.

Amazing coincidence or sassy synchronicity? Is the universe playing with us? We’ve certainly allowed certain of our worst natures to hold us hostage – with the result that  Washington and Wall Street are persona non grata on many nations’ lists. And we have only Bush-Cheney, the Clintons, a gaggle of other politicians, corporate hogs, bankers, investors, and military syncophants to…credit.

Talk about ‘isolationism’ – their crooked and devious behaviors have put America practically into quarantine! Don’t know about you, but this life long American was raised better than what our governmental and financial systems-gamers have displayed.

Replacing them is the “change we need.”

Well, look for my Stars Over Washington feed in the sidebar here…the new post should be showing up as “Leaving Iraq + the ‘New President’ Eclipse” any minute now, if all goes well with FeedBurner.
