Wedding Day Astrology: Jenna Bush m. Henry Hager
On May 10, 2008, in the early evening at the Bush Family’s Crawford Ranch in Texas (aka White House2), Jenna Bush is to marry her young man, 29-year-old Henry Hager of Virginia.
Portents for their ‘early evening’ wedding and thus their marriage are shown most simply by considering the blend of Sun (male principle) and Moon (female principle) for the nuptial ceremony of May 10. They will be forging a lusty Taurus/showy Leo team–a Bull and a Lion yoked together for life. Romance blooms as Venus, ruler of Taurus, and Sun, ruler of Leo, are melded into one to their happy self-satisfaction.
Yet Venus is being squared by the Moon–young lady and Mom having a Wedding Day tiff? Is there to be miffdom in the kingdom? Moon/Venus squares aren’t the kind of aspect you’d like to see on a Wedding Day and can indicate timing delays. A Venus/Moon square is sentimental and emotional but can be careless with money.
And Sun is square Neptune, showing that someone has a nebulous hold on his/her identity along with a tendency toward self-deception–peculiar beliefs about romance are often the result of this square.
But Saturn trining Pluto should ease some of the negative potential, one hopes, although escapism is on the front burner here. (Is someone marrying to escape their rent’s marriage? Just a thought. Pass the champagne.)
You know the traits of Taurus the Bull, and Leo the Lion are everywhere you look: Leo’s show business, law practice, teaching, and whatever requires a shine to accomplish it; and Taurus: the Architect, builder, gardener, mason, artist. So see what you think of this general description of Jenna and Henry Hager’s coupledom:
Sun Tau/Moon Leo is an Earth-Fire blend which indicates a talent for having practical visions which can be implemented. Going for the main chance is instilled within on a deep level and is given a Leonine sheen to gloss over the lucrative instincts. Sun Earth-Moon Fire has a raucous, earthy sense of humor, and exhibits an ability to fully enjoy the good things in life. (Some overindulgent wallowing may occur!)
Underneath is a desire for power and freedom with perceptive intuition enhancing the presentation…bias + intuition.
This is a passionate combo full of loyalty and generosity. Somewhat demanding, this synthesis of stubborn bullishness with Leo’s pride can mean a lot of noggin-bashing because the 2nd zodiacal sign of the Bull and the 5th sign of the Lion are naturally square one another which represents obstacles and blockages between them. Earth and Fire can lead to scorched earth, if one is not careful!
These blockages show developmental tension which all relationships contain if they are to be sparkier than a wet noodle, so Henry and Jenna, who have dated for simply years, are starting out on a rather exciting path together as husband and wife on May 10–with a snort and a roar!
Yes, Tau/Leo can indicate a stubborn refusal to see another person’s viewpoint and a decided inability to laugh at oneself. However, there is much magnetic sociability here for this young couple who are seeking a private Wedding Day with family and friends, a small wedding at the Bush’s Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford.
And you know, there may even be a ‘ham’ somewhere within this relationship who loves to sing and dance so perhaps we’ll hear about some dance floor antics after the wedding party is over.
This is a regal and possibly snobbish blend so let’s not expect a personal invite, as they say!
What’s important to this combo is building and maintaining personal security and comfort, and being respected, honored, and loved. Perfect sentiments when entering a marriage, si?
This sometimes arrogant blend prefers to dominate its surroundings in order to get its way through a dramatic temperament which will, if necessary, be shown to others.
Plus, the Tau/Leo Conserve vs Flaunt dilemma may cause them some bumps in the marital road on down the trail, so I hope these pardners manage the static. There’s a classy, daredevil extrovert lurking within this relationship–or perhaps it’s the two of them together inspiring one another to see the world in a more exciting way–or, we may be discovering later on whether it’s Jenna or Henry who’s the livest wire!
And now the Images for Integration which seem to apply quite well:
“On a perfect summer’s evening, a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is held in the palace garden…Keeping up with the Joneses.”
Hmmm…an endeavor of social one-upmanship AND…someone has some waking to do? Do you think it’s one of them?
Or all of us?

The Hagers have a baby girl as of 4/13/13!
