Posting on Bill Gwatney

Yesterday I searched for the birth data of Dem Party chairman Bill Gwatney who was shot Wednesday at the Little Rock Arkansas Dem headquarters and died some four hours later.

Finding his birth date rather quickly I chalked up a sunrise/solar natal chart, looked at transits for August 13, 2008, ‘shortly before noon’ in Little Rock, then this morning I published here an entry on the August 13 transits to Mr. Gwatney’s chart.

The date was incorrect, as I find today. Gwatney was born Aug 26, 1959, but now I don’t have time to go through the entire process again yet there are three transits I may mention:

Pluto, the assassin, now backed into Sagittarius, has been in contact with Gwatney’s natal Saturn, planet of responsibility and authority. His Saturn is at 00Cap32, a critical point in any chart.

Pluto-to-Saturn is a time when past actions come back around and become important to the present. Current circumstances may be completely transformed, and attitude adjustments must be made if one has not previously taken responsibility for one’s actions.

And what may be most telling to Wednesday’s miserable tale: abuse of authority brings confrontation and correction.

Being shot is a hard way to be presented with confrontation, plus, his recent Saturn-to-Pluto (3Vir53) transit may have added to the hardship. Saturn-to-Pluto involves one’s use of power when a loss of control may occur because circumstances are simply too large to handle.

No one seems to know yet why Timothy Dale Johnson committed this murder although his firing from a Target store earlier in the day certainly may have set him off. Bacchus conj Mars Wednesday, so drinking may have spurred his actions.

But why Gwatney?

Mars, the shooter, is just past Gwatney’s natal Mars 23Vir16, so he very recently had a Mars Return, a new 2-year cycle of activity.

And you know where revolutionary Uranus is – 21Pis49 on Wednesday morning – so Gwatney has been in process of having a Uranus-opposite-Mars transit, when there is danger in the environment and actions taken against him are completely unexpected.

The outcome of a hostile physical stand-off is unfavorable when Uranus opposes natal Mars (as I’ve previously fretted on behalf of Barack Obama who has near the same Mars degree.)

My sincere condolences go out to the Gwatney family and friends, and I hope my peek at his birth details isn’t too intrusive at such a sad and private time for it is intended to be a search for understanding of what seems, at this point, to be an inexplicable and highly regrettable tragedy for all the families involved.
