Wedding Day Astrology of the Obamas

Wedding Day Astrology of the Obamas: Oct 18, 1992

Update 1/22/13: the gist of the following post (originally published as a Page in this blog’s sidebar) went mysteriously missing, I found today, so I’m publishing it here as a post.

Original text begins here:

Since I sassily nosed into the Clinton’s Wedding Day planetary weather, it’s only fair to look at Barack and Michelle Obama’s Wedding Day, Oct 18, 1992, Chicago, Rev Jeremiah Wright presiding. (See this blog’s sidebar of Pages for more ‘Wedding Day Astrology’ reports including that of President Obama’s parents.)

From the year, 1992, you know immediately that their marriage began just prior to the Great Conjunction of Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn in 1993 (171-year-cycle):

Feb 2 (19Cap34); Aug 20 (18Cap48); and Oct 24 (18Cap33.) The last date is the one I use for the natal chart of the New World Order for the degree of Ura/Nep “18Cap” is key to understanding the beast (POLITICAL POWER.)

The pair met in 1989 at the law firm where she was employed when she was made advisor to Barack, a Harvard ‘summer associate’ who was apparently taken more with Michelle than with corporate law.

So what was going on overhead on the day of their nuptials? As above, so below!

Oct 18, 1992: Sun in Libra, Moon in Cancer, square (similar to Billary’s–Sun Lib–Moon Cap) so generally speaking, the difference between their marriages is the Moon’s positions–one in ambitious, politically minded Cap, the other in business and family oriented Cancer.

Both ladies are attorneys at law, with Michelle Obama perhaps the winner in the nurturing sweepstakes.

Again using ‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign,’ Chas & Suzi Harvey, here are some details on the Sun Lib-Moon Cancer pairing which describes, in part, their relationship:

adaptable; entertaining; sociable with a love of intimacy; domestic; musical; intuitive; devoted; nervous; intelligent curiosity; emotional; sensitive; quiet individualism and respect for others’ rights; artistic and communication power; adaptability in the face of obstacles.

Weaknesses: may over-romanticize people and places; sentimentality; emotional vulnerability; carping when others don’t look after you in the “right” way.

Relationships: close relationships bring out the best in you–eventually; tremendous need for love; childhood behavior scripts are deeply embedded and can turn the mate into mum or dad; a desire to comfort, amuse, and encourage the mate is mutual; pitfalls are being too accommodating, overly possessive, or manipulating.

~:~Image: A patriot rouses the masses to seek education, and then goes home to cook dinner for his friends.

(Well, that seems to well-describe their deal–he comes home from Washington or the campaign trail every weekend, last I heard!)

The Obamas’ I-Dos took place during the 12 South Solar Eclipse Series of June 30, 1992. Keyphrases for this Series are:

longterm worries or illness concerns; an issue will at first seem worse, then clear with sucessful outcomes. (‘Predictive Astrology,’ Bernadette Brady.)

The Eclipse was triggered during their nuptials by asteroid Juno, ‘the wife.’ Perhaps the marriage itself was a solution in some way for them–not unusual, if so.

Next manifestation of this Series: July 11, 2010 ’19Cancer.’

There’s much emotional energy in their Wedding Day chart with Moon (which remained in Cancer for the 24-hour period) dancing about with Mars 18Can04–opposite Uranus and Neptune.

Jupiter 1Lib40 trines Barack’s natal Jupiter, and is conj America’s natal Midheaven (Sibly: 5:10 pm lmt, July 4, 1776) which is a nice aspirational link, yet there are two midpoint pictures formed in the Sunrise chart (7:11:22 am cdt, Chicago, IL) which I shall mention, and which may or may not apply:

Mercury/Venus = Pluto: a sense of mission; the successful “hard sell.”

Venus/Neptune = NN: relationships are unclear in their value system; an unhappy union; disappointment in relationships.

Well, since the path of love is often strewn with disappointments of one kind or another, and since their marriage seems to suit them both, it’s time for me to bow out of their luv business and hope this thumbnail sketch has given you some small insight into the marriage of Barack and Michelle Obama.

Paul and Janna Ryan: Wedding Day Astrology

Republican Rep. Paul Ryan proposed marriage to tax attorney Janna Little in April 2000 and they were wed in Oklahoma City, OK on December 2, 2000 with approximately 400 guests attending. (Click link for more details.)

Now if the Ryans’ wedding ceremony took place at or after 9:23 pm CST, the Moon (feminine principle) had entered Pisces. If before, the Moon was in Aquarius; in both cases, the Sun (male principle) was in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius in the 10Sag21 to 11Sag22 degree range. (Dec 2, 2000 12 am CST to 11:59 pm CST.)

(Astro-Note: as a pair, the luminaries–Sun and Moon–indicate Marriage.)

And as you know, idealistic Jupiter’s natural abode is the 9th house of Philosophy, Religion, and Higher Education. Plus, the Sun (husband) conjoined Pluto on that day (Pluto @12Sag39 noon CST) and neared Chiron 19Sag09. Synchronistically, the Wedding Moon at noon (@25AQ20) conjoined and reflected asteroid Juno, the wife and met Cupido 00Pis25 (family; cupidity or love) soon after Luna entered Pisces.

So which Sun-Moon blend of this the happy couple to detail? First, some basic elements to consider:

Sun Sag-Moon AQ is a ‘live wire’ Fire-Air combo of bluster and bombast and denotes those who tend to become ‘carried away’ with their own ‘eloquent’ rhetoric. Zeal for innovative ideas is notable which are then persuasively expressed to others. This is a visionary combo which must guard against impracticality; in evidence may be a tendency to be out-of-touch with the emotional realm of feelings.

Sun Sag-Moon Pisc is a Fire-Water blend which may be described as a “bulldozer” for its tendency to push ahead in the preferred direction, no matter what. This combo denotes a more practical visionary with feet kept firmly on the ground but with an instinct for the ‘main chance’. There’s a love of the good life and a talent for pulling rabbits out of hats.

Hmmm…guess we’d better look at both Sun-Moon sign combinations!

Sun Sag-Moon AQ (Janna does look to me to have ‘Aquarian blue eyes’!): intellectual and friendly, this visionary blend denotes high ideals, a breezy outspokenness, and a seeker of truth (uh-oh! guess you can always seek it so you can hide it!) All types of viewpoints are accomodated with an easy-going adaptability, and its positive outlook is willing to take risks whenever necessary; a keen social awareness may be noted which identifies with the World View, or which seeks to justify its personal eccentricities.

With this blend, life’s mundane realities present challenges, and a high-minded crusading zeal shows insensitivity to more sentimental souls. There’s a tendency to over-generalize while living in the realm of abstract ideas, and in relationships, Sun Sag-Moon AQ isn’t automatically adept at intimacy. An intelligent, strong-egoed partner is a must to keep things interesting; plus, loyalty is much prized as long as independence is part of the marriage.

Is this a passionate and romantic combination? Yes, but even so there’s usually a brotherly-sisterly quality within the partnership.

Sun Sag-Moon Pisc describes more of an emotional, imaginative blend with deep convictions, generosity, and a moralistic streak. This is The Philosopher yet the logic is irrational, the dreams fantastical. An enormous sensitivity to the human condition is prominent (and not generally found within the objectivist hearts of Ayn-Randers) along with a trusting openness–the need to give to others is an endearing quality of this combo.

Lavish expenditures may occur for this blend contains a ‘wastrel’ sub-personality! Giving the ‘shirt off one’s back’ is described here and for that reason and others (and because odds are that the Ryan nuptials took place prior to 9:23 pm), I ‘vote’ for the Sun Sag-Moon AQ blend to more closely describe the relationship and the individual partners in the Paul and Janna Ryan union.

What do you think? If you wish to ‘vote’ for a blend or remark, please leave a comment with this post!

An Astro-Profile of Prince William and Kate

April 29, 2011 will soon arrive with a royal wedding in tow and having just read an excellent astro-profile of both Prince William and his fiance Kate Middleton, I thought you might be interested.

Written by Alex Miller of Daykeeper Journal, Wills and Kate is full of info on each of them along with links between their natal planets and Black Holes (which Alex specializes in.)

And in case you missed it, you may also wish to check out Prince William’s and Kate’s Wedding Day Astrology Report which uses the positions of Sun (male) and Moon (female) on April 29, 2011 to determine a few of the more prominent facets of their partnership.

A Royal Wedding Day Astrology Report: Prince William and Kate!

With April 29, 2011 the date of Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s wedding day, I have published as a Page in this blog’s sidebar a Wedding Day Astrology Report concerning the happy couple’s Spring nuptials which will describe some of the basic dynamics of their partnership.

For as you know, Sun and Moon in a horoscope are descriptive of the male (Sun) and female (Moon) principles and the midpoint between the two luminaries indicates ‘marriage.’ Well, it’s two luminaries for certain as their royal wedding day has been declared a public holiday in England with all the attendant trappings of publicity!

Their Wedding Day horoscope is shown on the Page for I thought you might wish to see royal Jupiter conjunct Midheaven, one of the signs of a ruling monarch with Saturn at Mc being the other sign (Queen Elizabeth has Saturn in Scorpio @ Mc.)

Plus, in case you missed it, do check out DarkStar Astrology’s column on the royal couple’s engagement horoscope (announced November 17, 2010) which links you to the natal charts of Prince William (June 21, 1982 9:03 pm BST London) and Kate Middleton (Jan 9, 1982 hour unknown.)

Both Prince William and Kate are 28 years old, the age of one’s Saturn Return when becoming more serious about the future is the required response.

So check the sidebar of Pages or click a direct link to the Wedding Day Astrology Report: Prince William and Kate Middleton and leave your on-topic comments with this post, if you wish.

Wedding Day Astrology: Russell Brand-Katy Perry

Update February 11, 2012: by now you’ve heard the sad news of the Perry-Brand divorce. For more details try this.

Original post begins here with no edits so that you may appreciate their marriage’s initial promise, their faith in true love which has not, it seems, carried their marital union up to a second anniversary:

By now you’ve heard the joyous news that pop star Katy Perry and her love, comedian and actor Russell Brand, tied the nuptial knot on Saturday, October 23, 2010, in beautiful and exotic India.

You’ll find a few wedding details here and here.

Yet all may not be sweetness and light since some local laws may have been violated and the couple’s wedding celebration could come under investigation (though one might imagine that a hefty fine could be assessed and paid.)

All congrats and best wishes to the happy couple!

Now I have decided not to publish on this blog a Wedding Day Astrology Report for the sidebar’s Pages list. This is because the Perry-Brand ceremony took place on Saturday October 23, 2010, and the Aries/Libra Full Moon perfected at 7:08 am IST in India!

It’s a fairly safe assumption that the two frisky entertainers did not arise early from bed to marry at the Full Moon so they could have a Sun Lib-Moon Aries blend for their partnership, even though Full Moons represent the balancing of two opposites…in a word, relationships.

So when did the Moon and Sun change signs on October 23 and how do the various combinations of energies change their Wedding Day Astrology synergy?

At 12:00 am IST on Oct 23, 2010, the Sun began @ 29Lib15 with the Moon 25Ari53.

The (feminine) Moon reached 00Tau00 at 8:00 am IST w/ Sun 29Lib35; the (masculine) Sun reached 00Sco00:00 at 6:00 pm IST. Therefore, their Sun-Moon blend may be Sun Lib-Moon Ari (unlikely – too early in the day), Sun Lib-Moon Tau, or Sun Sco-Moon Tau.

Sunset is a popular hour to wed and it occurred at 5:47:27 pm IST in Jaipur, India with Sun 29Lib59 (just before entering Scorpio, sign of sex and procreation – is a baby on the way?), and Moon 5Tau04. As you know, the Moon is exalted in Taurus indicating a very sensual nature that adores life’s creature comforts. (Think ‘Bill Clinton’s natal Moon’! Moon = the reigning need, and a Taurus Moon often gives a person the oomph for garnering many lovely possessions and..well, money.)

So here are the Images for Integration for the two combinations along with a smidgeon of extra details for each – and remembering that relationship-oriented Libra is an outgoing, action-oriented Cardinal sign while sexy Scorpio and Taurus are rigid and inflexible Fixed signs which may give stubbornness and/or longevity to their relationship:

Sun Lib-Moon Tau (Air-Earth = innovative, efficient, supportive, scientific, rational): “Newlyweds go on a gourmet tour of Italy for their honeymoon”… (India and the Maldives actually!)…”A lecture on ancient Greek architecture and town planning.”

Home and family are central to the happiness of the Sun Lib-Moon Tau blend for it shows a deep need for affection and harmony. Romantic escapades may abound until the perfect mate is found, then devoted and steadfast love is enjoyed. There is a refined aesthetic sense and an abiding faith in the power of love.

Sun Sco-Moon Tau (Water-Earth = a practical, supportive, and nourishing combo which may temd to view change as threatening; relationships bring out its devotional, domestic, and gentle nature): concern for others, sensuality and self-control; quiet strength and determination; cares deeply about loved ones and may be possessive with an all-or-nothing attitude.

“Images for Integration: Pluto takes Persephone into the Underworld…A celebrated surgeon amasses a fortune…A successful businessman probes the mysteries of life.”

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey.)

Also in Scorpio: Mercury (vows), Venus (love and affection – but Venus is Rx), and Mars (sex and desire); the Moon is across the horoscope from the Scorpio line-up in also-lusty Taurus.)

Well, to me it seems the Sun Sco-Moon Tau’s ‘Pluto and Persephone’ reference could be an accurate description for the Perry-Brand partnership yet I prefer the Sun Lib-Moon Tau blend for its “newlyweds” reference and its optimistic, romantic, and “abiding faith in the power of love”!

And yet…Mr. Brand does have those intense Scorpio eyes and seems quite a Pluto sort of fellow, doesn’t he? And wealthy Pluto rules the world’s riches which a lovely Taurean Moon can well appreciate.

So what do you think, lone reader? Naturally, if you should run across the actual time of their wedding ceremony – or a reference to ‘sunset’, that sort of thing – I hope you’ll let me know by leaving a comment here and I’ll update this post.

Chelsea Clinton weds today

Amongst the hub’n’bub of festive preparation, in the midst of a couple of decoy weddings (as noted by CBS this morning), Rhinebeck, NY will celebrate an illustrious wedding this evening, that of former first-daughter Chelsea Clinton to longtime beau and investment banker, Marc Mezvinsky.

At the moment, this Georgia blogger is nowhere near the nuptials in upstate New York yet from afar I am preparing a small celebration myself bwo a Wedding Day Astrology Report for the happy couple.

Their nuptials are being deemd a ‘royal wedding’ which actually fulfills the prediction from the January 15, 2010 Solar Eclipse of a ‘Ceremony Fit for a King’ (said Celeste Teal in her book Eclipses) even though we’ve moved on to the Solar Eclipse of July 11, 2010, the eclipse season we’re now in.

This may be an example of Solar Eclipses retaining their influence well past the next Solar Eclipse date for some are stronger than others, as we know.

So do stay tuned, or simply return and check the sidebar of Pages to your right under ‘Wedding Day Astrology’ and there will be Chelsea and Marc before this day is through!

Hint: a Wedding Day Astrology Report for Bill and Hillary Clinton is already in the sidebar of Pages!

1:40 pm edt: their Wedding Day Astrology Report is now published. jc

3:00 pm edt: you may wish to view a few additional details now published concerning both their natal charts which may well impact their relationship.

Wedding Day Astrology: Sandra Bullock and Jesse James

Blog Alert: it has come to my attention bwo a discriminating reader (see her comment below) that the marriage certificate for the Bullock-James wedding has been located and that their nuptials took place, not on July 16, 2005 as many sources state, but on July 14, 2005, in Texas and not in California.

If so, quite a number of news articles now online contain lovely fairytale details of a wedding that wasn’t there…at the reported hour, at least.

Therefore, I’ve just gone through the several articles I read or skimmed through when preparing the following post and am finding no updated mention of July 14, 2005, as of yet. Rather than deleting this post I shall let it stand for now, unreliable though the time/place may be, and see what develops.

Yes, the 2-day difference in wedding dates would, of course, change the sign of the Moon but not the Sun. Therefore, I leave it to you to decide whether you wish to read my original (apparently incorrect) article or not. JC

Original post begions here:

In a sunset ceremony on a ranch north of Santa Barbara, CA, Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were wed on July 16, 2005 under a circus-like tent full of family and friends.

The above paragraph begins my freshly published Page in the sidebar of ‘Wedding Day Astrology’ Reports. My Wedding Day Astrology list of couples has become semi-extensive (no such word, I guess, but there it is.)

So check out the sidebar to your left for info on the Bullock-James nuptials and marriage as seen through an astrological lens, or simply click directly, if you wish.

Wedding Day Astrology of the Osbournes

Just a brief heads-up: the Wedding Day Astrology Report concerning the marriage of Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne has just been published as a Page in this blog’s alphabetized sidebar column under “W’, or you may wish to click the link directly.

Sun Can/Moon Sag is a steamy Water-Fire blend of energies which can both purify and scald, so check out this emotionally passionate, poetic and musical combo, as you wish.

And if this is your own natal Sun/Moon blend, you may enjoy reading between the lines concerning your own personality which thrives on love and satisfying relationships!

Wedding Day Astrology of Tiger Woods

‘Under an Arch of Flowers @ Sunset’ and The Round-About Husband:

Well, I’m awfully late boarding the online Tiger train of comments, suppositions, and gossip but it occurred to me that if any couple in the news ever warranted one of my Wedding Day Astrology Reports (which publicly I do not offer any longer, please don’t ask!) it would be our wayward Woodses.

Yes, in America, we like ‘build ’em up heros’ that we can then watch fall, usually with much undermining from the press who often started the big idol build-up in the first place while we-the-public colludes.

But with Mr. Tiger Woods, talent is the architect along with Dad, Earl, who arrived at his son’s wedding in a silver Rolls Royce – a perfect ‘vehicle’ for a Svengali figure.

Yet it looks to be Mr. Woods the Younger who bears the lion’s share of the debit for the mess he’s in…we can’t blame dear old Dad (or Mum) for our mistakes forever, can we?

Therefore, since you know that Astrology teaches us that how something (or some person) begins is how it will end – the end is in the beginning but not necessarily in specifics, yet ends have elements of their starts within them which describe something intrinsic about their characters – then you won’t fuss overmuch if I say that ‘as fireworks over the water put the pretty bow on the wedding’ (a nuptial ceremony being the beginning of the official, legal, and spiritual partnership of Tiger and Elin) the dust-up Tiger’s philandering has caused can well be termed ‘fireworks.’

For ‘the water’ we have only to look at the horoscope chart with a wa-a-ay out-of-bounds (OOBs) Moon – +28:00 – in Cancer, sign of Home, Nurturing, Mother and Children. She is at the base (Ic/4th house cusp, not necessarily the same measurement) so blending the female Cancer with male Libra, I’ve titled the chart, “Children and Social Events.”

When Moon is the only OOBs planet we see deep emotional security; on another level this Moon OOBs may also represent Elin Nordegren being from another part of the world than Tiger.

She wanted family (which she now has for certain – lovely little children!) and he wanted a pleasureable, social, charming and calm relationship full of Aphrodite-Lilith and Bacchus-Eros-Cupido (see: marked in red are the main asteroids and points I work with when it comes to Romance, Sex, and Intimacy.)

He may have married a Mother archetype (Cancer Moon), not very good for future romantic propects within the marriage unless both partners are okay with it.

But diplomatic Libra can be a cool character quite detached even while desiring partnership, or the ease of partnership, for life’s balance.

‘Fairness’ is a constant concern for Libra whose favorite mantra may be, “That’s not fair!”

Well, here’s a CNN write-up of the Woods-Nordegren nuptials of Oct 5, 2004 on Barbados, West Indies. The article helpfully includes the time the pair said, “I Do” @ 5:40 pm (21:45 GMT) so I’ve set up a Wedding Day Astrology chart for Tiger and Elin Woods who are being represented astrologically by the Sun (male principle) and Moon (female principle.)

Also I shall include a few notes on their Wedding Day’s Solar Return chart of Oct 5, 2009 as transits in aspect to the Oct 5, 2004 chart.

Please pardon, but not knowing the ceremony’s exact location I couldn’t resist using ‘Holetown’ (golfing reference – naughty you!) as the wedding’s location – Queen Elizabeth of GB is head-of-state of Barbados and it’s quite a small island anyway.

Of course, the physical oomph level is represented by Mars in Libra (desire nature wanting union) and Venus (attraction principle, here in picky Virgo, sign of the pure, fertile virgin and dedicated server of the flame, or hearthstone.)

Sun Libra/Moon Cancer (Air-Water = ethereal mist; mind + emotions):

Sun Lib/Moon Can can tend towards pouting, self pity, and carping when others don’t ‘look after them’ in ‘the right way.’ And Cancerian energy is very self-protective, in fact, it can be emotionally (Water sign) touchy (Mars in Cancer is the touchiest – Saturn is also in Cancer, a difficult placement for the Father archetype – plus, their Wedding Day’s Solar Return for Oct 5, 2009 has Mars 24Can30 conjunct SR 2009 2nd cusp – $$ – near SR 2009’s South Node 26Can55. Past actions and behaviors (SN) are haunting the marriage, for SR 2009’s Sun/Moon midpoint is @ 24Can15 and being triggered by contentious, phallic-glyphed Mars.

Hot-to-Trot, My Honey

The testosterone-filled fellow (Mars) is troubling the waters of his marriage (Sun/Moon) in a veil-over-wife sort of way (Neptune’s deceptions.) A wife’s honor is seen to be at stake, her love cuckholded. No veil is large enough to cover such a round-a-about husband’s actions and behaviors now and I sincerely hope he gets professional aid for his addictions…a change of direction from their present direction on the public course would be if she is uncovered as duplicitous as well. Then all bets are off.

Yet as their Wedding Day chart shows, Romance was wafting through the air along with desires for stability and status in the world (Capricorn @ Mc), both factors indicating that the current embroilment may not have to be make-or-break as long as both partners can bend. But the SR 2009 chart (and more recent transit charts), when compared to the Wedding Day chart, show an uphill battle if reconciliation is wanted.

The beautiful ‘ethereal mist’ of this relationship has heated to ear steam temperature as domestic scene vows were discovered to be taken for granted, broken. With the SR 2009 chart at Full Moon (202 degr 33 mins) phase, Elin had probably moved on from Tiger by then so she must have been dissatisfied for some time before the scandal/s broke in the press and flooded our collective awareness.

SR 2009’s Sun/Moon 24Can15 = SR 2009 Mars 25:30 = marriage; urge for children; a sexual union; the need to impose one’s will on others; becoming more self-reliant; pushing others for quicker progress; anger; a focus on strength. (‘Any-all-or-none’ may apply; today using Ebertin and Munkasey.)

In tandem is the Wedding Day’s Sun/Moon midpoint at 25Leo08 which was triggered by the SR 2009’s Mars/Saturn midpoint, a harsh blend of frustrated stop-go energies, diffcult work, and possible loss for the relationship (Sun/Moon.)

Sun Lib/Moon Can is a blend in need of tremendous amounts of love; close relationships are important here (but as we know, too many ‘close relationships’ haunting the marriage can merit the Knell of a Closing Ding Dong.)

Lib/Can’s over-romantizing prevents clear assessments by either or both partners (pre- and during the time there is a union), and I suspect that this has occurred with Tiger and Elin who were so very romantically wed on a dreamy island. Having one’s rose-colored romantic glasses ripped off by Saturn’s realism is a common factor in many break-ups, isn’t it? And few partnerships can live forever upon such a romantic pedestal especially with extreme wealth and fame causing their own problems, delusions, and ravenous appetites.

Of course, a tendency to see oneself dimly rather than clearly may be the beginning of the problem for this couple for if we don’t know ourselves, how can others know us honestly? And having a dim view of oneself makes self-destructive sneakiness more possible to rationalize away as retaliation takes over while fluffing silken pillows so enticingly.

So it’s the disconnect between the two (mind + emotions = consciousness and unconsciousnesss) where a fizzle can end all communications – astrological Mercury’s many mental functions affect this (and everything else to boot.) And as noted, the Lib/Can combo describes a ‘mind + emotions’ blend of energies and the Wedding Day’s luminaries square (90 degr) one another indicating blockages and obstacles to overcome….hard work ahead, yet do-able.

He, remote. She, emotional. The more out of touch Tiger has been all along with his true feelings, the more hurt ensues for his home-loving wife.

If you can view the chart closely enough, you see that Jupiter, Mars, and Sun are snugged around Fixed Star, Vindemiatrix, keywords: loss of partner, widow/widower; sorrow in relationship; depression…and also: mysticism and the occult.

Now transit Saturn in Dec 2009 has come along to square Wedding Day Moon and oppose Wedding Day Sun, bringing loss, restrictions, and delay for both partners. This is a very depressing influence on the marriage particularly because a husband doesn’t seem to have taken his responsibilities as seriously as fathering small children – or a marriage vow – call for.

As I type (Dec 18, 2009) tr Saturn is between Wedding Day’s fortunate Mars/Jupiter conjunction…Mars/Jupiter = Saturn: difficult decisions; a termination of relationship. (Ebertin.) And when Saturn conjoins Jupiter, some part of what’s been gained through the auspices of generous Jupiter must be given back (Saturn.)

Tr Pluto affecting the Wedding Day chart shows violent tendencies and accidents, possibly injuries – Pluto opposing Moon, squaring 2004’s Mars/Jupiter conj (see chart above); plus, tr Pluto trining Venus (big money on the chopping block), and sextiling (60 degr = opportunity) Uranus, showing generational changes in society and a chance to morph one’s social and financial circumstances into totally new conditions. (Bye bye, Tiger?)

Sun Lib/Moon Can indicates a partnership that tends to play out childhood emotional scripts – never a good idea unless both partners are aware of it and into sussing it out; this relates to the Mars/SN behaviors already mentioned; the phrase ‘past sexual partners or unions’ comes to mind so perhaps a romantic straw has broken the sexy camel’s back; and the ‘old flames’ sparking the ‘straw’ has lighted the fireworks of an explosive break-up.

Now as you know, Sun Lib/Moon Can can be a moody blend and given their 24 vs 28 years’ of age at marriage – he at his ‘be more responsible’ Saturn Return (28 – 30), and she at or near a Jupiter Return cycle (12 yrs x 2 = 24), we have a Jup/Sat influence, a moody blend of planets in themselves relating to the liver, and thus to purification. An upset liver can bring unpredictable, upsetting moods, and of course, alcohol and other drugs can soon reach toxic proportions for the liver, sometimes sooner than we realize.

Purification is needed (a constant need for us all; thus, ‘the liver’ which relates in mythology to Uranus and ‘stealing fire’ which here may serve as a euphemism for stolen kisses.)

Sun Lib/Moon Can in relationships can show a proneness toward being overly accomodating which then purports to justify possessiveness and manipulation; feelings are vulnerable, so their ongoing public fiasco cannot be easy for the couple’s 10th house Chiron at a critical degree (’20Cap’), a place of blindspots and wounds – and posited right there in the most visible house of any chart, the 10th of Public Standing and Status.

Transiting NN (the path; destiny; fate; future; a joining quality) is now pointing toward their 10th house Chiron (‘impulsive pursuit of authority and status’ on the ‘road to fame and fortune’ – Nolle) which in Capricorn indicates the Father/Mother polarity of the 4/10 axis of Home vs Career and Fame and Tiger Woods’ ‘authority in his career’ which is suffering mightily because he’d climbed so high and had so far to fall. A Cap Chiron deeply values power and status and tends to measure self-esteem through the eyes of others; this Chiron’s aim is to prevail no matter the challenge yet there’s a fear of losing individuality and identity through the status quo – conquering time is the goal with Chiron in Capricorn, the sign ruled by timekeeper Saturn.

Well, since I’ve just paraphrased Richard Nolle from his excellent book, ‘Chiron’, I shall quote an excerpt from him now on a Cap Chiron because of one little word he includes – I know you can spot it:

“Somber of thought and disposition, (Chiron in Cap is) like the man who was chased by a tiger until he lost his foothold and fell off a cliff.”

Uh oh.

Mr. Nolle goes on to conclude that this man’s “tenacity stems from a full awareness that time and chance happen to us all even in this, the best of all possible worlds.” From which I tentatively conclude in Tiger’s case, So many lovelies, so little time…?

Still, Chiron in Cap is the ultimate survivor, so let’s hope the Woodses’ relationship benefits somehow from this stabilizing factor, painful as it is just now.

As you see in the chart shown, there’s Moon in Cancer near the home-loving Ic, making me believe that Elin Woods is the partner who doesn’t care much for the fame part of the deal being something of a homebody; Tiger loves to shine in the outer world, of course, or at least he did, in a more positive way than this blow-up may allow for at present.

(If either of you reading this post has a link to an analysis of Tiger’s natal chart, please supply in a comment – let’s discuss!)

Sentamentality is one of the tendencies of this particular Sun/Moon blend; positively there can be much concern for others, intellectual curiosity and abilities, and adaptability in the face of obstacles. But has Tiger used up all of Elin’s emotional adaptability? And perhaps it’s the other way round as well?

FYI, let’s consider a list of famed folk who share natally the Sun Lib/Moon Can blend and crescendo this post into an apt and tuneful quote written by one of them:

John Kenneth Galbraith, Graham Greene, Olivia Newton-John, Rona Barrett, Annie Besant, Eleanor Roosevelt, and the excellent Paul Simon, who wrote:

“Losing love is like a window in your heart, everybody sees you’re blown apart, everybody sees the wind blow.”

Well, there’s a lot more to the chart/s but this is gracious plenty peeking into a partnership that has met, after all, deep and private sorrows. And so my hopes are for the best to come about for the entire Woods and Nordegren families – but most especially for the loving children of this Sun Lib/Moon Can marriage gone astray.

“There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings.” Teaching children values and giving them the opportunity to excel is essential to good parenting. However, I feel I must also provide my children (and myself) insight into the ones who came before us: our ancestors whose lives and stories have shaped us into who we are. This is my journey; these are their stories…
