Newt Gingrich: no lapdance a 2nd time

As a Georgia native, I am always quick to point out that Newt Gingrich isn’t ~really~ a Georgia native and with this jaw-dropper news tidbit, he’s done nothing but continue to live down to my usual expectations of him.

The affair may be completely innocent but it looks awfully odd to me. See what you think.

Palin in Hong Kong

With former governor and former VP candidate speaking in Hong Kong on US defense spending, we and the larger world have yet another example of her scintillating orating ability and indepth understanding of military issues.

May the specter of Palin’s finger on The Button be a caution to every US voter tempted to think she should run in 2012 or any other year.

Rep Louis Gohmert and the 3 branches of government

Returning from errands a while ago, I found Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) on C-SPAN speaking in the chamber on a resolution to teach the US Constitution to high school seniors.

Since I had Civics classes all through school, I heartily agree that this is a wonderful idea to re-install classes on government prior to an 18-year-old’s voting for the first time.

Rep. Gohmert said that many Americans cannot name the three branches of government, and I’ve read this somewhere recently myself – a result, I suspect, of taking Civics courses out of our public school system.

What made me chuckle was the lawmaker’s lament that more US citizens can name the Three Stooges than can name the three branches of government, so let me take the Civics test now:

Mo has to be the president of the Executive branch;

Larry must be the Judicial branch, SCOTUS;

which leaves crazy Curly as the Legislative branch, aka the US Congress.

Did I pass? Am I passing yet? Am I lying? And would you consider grading on the curve? ;p

Astrology of Reagan’s 1981 Inauguration

Have you ever looked at the Astrology chart of Ronald Reagan’s 1st Inauguration in January 1981?

Click link to read my notes and view the chart, if you wish.

Naturally, the Sun on Jan 20, 1981 is where US Inaugural Suns are positioned still; 00AQ34 in 1981.

But you may be interested in the Air-Fire Sun AQ-Moon Leo blend of that joyful day as Hollywood took over the White House…Moon 5Leo25 in 4th house, North Node 10Leo51 which indicates a US Nodal Return soon after Reagan’s Inauguration.

Nodal Returns are times when new associations are formed, a Jupiterian influence. And Moon (‘the people’) in Leo shows a happy lot of folks with great hopes for America with Reagan’s fatherly hand on the helm of state…Reagan was an idealistic Jupiterian par excellence, and as you know, the Republican Party is signified in Mundane Astrology by Jupiter (Dems = Saturn.)

That Mr. Reagan’s hand was also in the till can be demonstrated by an article link therein which leads to my “I knew it was You, Reagan’ post from June 30 which concerns Reagan signing the Garn-St Germain Act of 1982, the Deregulation Portal from which the American people – and the world – are now grievously suffering.

Financially speaking, the pertinent planetary configurations in Reagan’s natal chart – Moon/NN opposite Jupiter/SN are impossible to miss in the 1981 Inauguration chart, so check it out.

Traits of the 1981 presidential Sun AQ-Moon Leo combo: gentleness outside, strength within; fearless defender of principle; democrat and despot; exudes a strong sense of personal ideals to the world; a proud, regal demeanor; gregariousness; enthusiasm for new ideas; a social reformer.

This blend tends to glamorize other people so that their true colors are not seen; arrogant and stubborn; gets carried away by romance and adventure.

‘Image for Integration’:

“A modern actress takes a bow, then leads the audience to a political demonstration.”

Sounds like Reagan’s career path!

Natally this blend is shared by Frederick the Great who asserted quite ‘illuminatingly’ that, “My people and I have come to an agreement…they are to say what they please, and I am to do what I please.”

(‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Charles and Suzi Harvey.)

Now this is 1981’s Inaugural blend, not Reagan’s natal combo! His birth time has been disputed and rectified through the years, yet it’s safe to mention his natal Sun AQ-Moon Taurus, because the Moon remained in Taurus for the 24-hour period (assuming his birth date is correct – Feb 6, 1911, ‘4:16 am’ cst; Tampico, IL.)

Here are a few details on Reagan’s natal blend…

Air-Earth Sun AQ-Moon Taurus: eccentric entrepreneur; security vs independence; friendly humanitarian; peace-loving but strong-willed; idealistic; spectator of all time and existence; logical; tenacious.

‘Images for Integration’:

“The resident caretaker of a ‘New Age’ community sips his Beaujolais as he systematically does the year’s accounts…A country girl seeks a conventional life with an unconventional young man in the big city.”

Lots of comments to make on that one (‘New Age’ = ‘NWO’?, etc), but I’ll semi-resist the urge for now unless you want to discuss the Astrology of Ronald Reagan sometime – let me know on one of my blogs or the other.

Yet I will add quotes from two people who share the AQ-Tau blend natally…

“A hungry man is not a free man.”
Adlai E. Stevenson

“Only by transcending the everyday, by seeing human life in larger terms, can the individual escape the slow strangulation of ‘permanent errors’.”
E. G. Price

And that’s what a national leader must do: see human life in larger terms, whether 4 years or 8!

Plus, he did like to ponder and reflect, they say.

Palin’s Facebook post on Health Care Reform

Now in case you missed it, here’s a link to Sarah Palin’s Facebook page with her statement on Health Care Reform which has all the ‘earmarks’ of mouth-foaming neo-conservative power politics meant to undermine the ‘opposition’ while protecting obscenely high industry profits, just so ya know.

She uses her son Trigg’s condition as a basis for her emotionally infused argument.

I emphasize the word ‘opposition’ because Rs and Ds are basically the same animal with only their ego games and power plays to identify them one from another.

Palin knocks Alaska snow off boots 7.26.09

If you care a wit about Sarah Palin leaving office today, click to read an eye witness account published by The Washington Independent.

And here’s a Republican view that Sarah Palin is another Huckabee, a reference to her political prospects, one may assume.

Cindy Sheehan calls out Obama

Obama, More Polished Than the Last Puppet

By Cindy Sheehan

Okay, so the United States of America has had a new puppet regime for six months now. I was never so much into giving Obama a “chance” and I think it’s way past time to call Obama and his supporters out, like we called Bush and his supporters out. Our Presidents are merely puppets for the Robber Class and Obama is no exception. #

You know that’s basically what I’ve been saying: Barack Obama is in the pocket of the monied class otherwise, he’d never have scored a term in the Oval Office!

Wonder if she means, Robber ‘Baron’ class?

Well, it’s all political theater, after all, and I tend to call them ‘political thespians’ – it’s the invisible government’s aims and plans that run the show.

Huckabee on Palin’s cut and run

Is it even possible to be “hounded from an opportunity”?

I’ve heard of losing them, or of having them pass by, fall through, or lead to nought, but “hounded from”??

There is a hound barking in this bizarre story but it isn’t Palin’s opportunity.

And I think this is where President Harry Truman sits up and says, “If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.”

Palin steps down July 26

Is Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s rambling announcement today that she’s stepping down from the governor’s post on July 26 a brilliant strategy to concentrate on preparing for a presidential run in 2012?

Given recent political scandals in the news, one hopes her resignation isn’t an attempt to dodge a scandalous bullet of some sort! But even if it is, the 2012 election may still be the GOP’s primary concern amongst their thinning ranks of possible candidates.

Somehow she’s framing her stay in office as a waste of state money and time. Hmm. In her press conference being played on NPR right now, she sounds breathless and more than a little odd.

Astrology notes on Governor Sanford

Here’s an excellently informative post with Astrology details on Gov. Mark Sanford if you’d like a wider view of the fellow who was a big Impeachment Freak against President Clinton for much the same sort of shenanigans he’s indulged in himself, as it awkwardly turns out.

~:~

Update July 3, 2009:

i have received a message asking if i’ll be posting on Sanford’s chart myself and the short answer is: not if i can help it.

Others subjects are higher on my posting agenda but that’s only part of the reason, the other being that whenever Washington politicians make a big deal out of a sex scandal – as with Clinton – i always ask myself what they’re diverting attention from in another direction for there must be Something important we Should Be Paying Attention To that they may be actively veiling from our gazes. (Timing is often a clue.)

So j’refuse to rubberneck their hypocrisies in the ‘hot romance’ department – how very very boring. jc
