David Stockman, March 15, and the Debt Ceiling

With Congress set to vote March 15th on raising the US debt ceiling here are some unsettling words from former White House budget director under Ronald Reagan, David Stockman:

“There will not be Obamacare repeal and replace. There will be no tax cut. There will be no infrastructure stimulus. There will be just one giant fiscal bloodbath over a debt ceiling that has to be increased and no one wants to vote for.”

Mr. Stockman foresees a distinct potential for government shutdown on the near horizon, a Republican tactic I tend to assume is dress rehearsal for the real and final thing so that we’ll all say, oh please please set up global government, the chaos is way too big to handle by a government founded way back in 1776!

It’s the Hegelian Dialect in action. But this American is not saying, please please. Are you?

Even so, astrological Neptune often acts in insidious ways–like on March 12th, 3 days before the March 15th vote, when a culmination occurs under a Full Moon @22Vir13 – conjunct US natal Neptune (22Vir25) of 1776.

This trio forms an interesting midpoint picture – Sun-Moon = Neptune: ‘delusions about what you can do or how hard you will work to do it’ (Munkasey). The March 2017 Full Moon shines brightly upon America’s Neptune which squares our natal Mars in Gemini, a problematic square suggesting such issues as ‘the fog of war’ and misdirected or misguided energy. Plus, impulsively planned activities are a constant caution with a Mars-Neptune square along with confused perceptions that lead to mistakes.

And the Sun-Moon midpoint potentials of March 12th in relation to Politics and Business? ‘Taking the country into new directions, the international reputation of the country, and/or smears on the national reputation‘.

Sounds just like just what Republican politicians intend for America. Oh, and there’s another potential: reading the attitude of the people when making national policy.

Well, if that were the case (as it should be) we’d have a functioning republic that uses tax payer monies to fund the needs of the country we have instead of waging perpetual war on behalf of the futuristic Utopian global society the power elite is in process of forcing upon us.

Summer Solstice 2017: Sun Cancer-Moon Taurus

When Summer 2017 begins in June there will be a Sun Cancer-Moon Taurus vibe in the air, something of a Moon-Venus influence with Cancer ruled by the Moon and Taurus one of Venus’ favorite signs.

If you wish, view the horoscope of Summer Solstice 2017 with Trump’s natal planets penned around it. The chart is set for Washington DC as representative or symbol of our entire nation. Mr. Trump’s first natal planet to rise in the solstice chart is his quirky, radical Uranus in communicating (sometimes duplicitous) Gemini so we’ve got that going for us.

But what about the lovely Moon-Venus vibe we were talking about? This is a blend of energies that can result in excellent teaching abilities, shrewd perceptions, and subjective prejudices (not necessarily in that order!) along with a certain fussiness and values that are rooted in the past. I can think of a few neanderthal politicians who could be described by such rootedness but let’s not mention any names of the culprits.

Now in their masterful book, Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey give three ‘Images for Integration’ which refer to the conscious (Sun) and unconscious (Moon) minds and energies working together for best results. Under the influence of the practical Water-Earth combo of Sun Cancer-Moon Taurus they are:

“A family photo album…A flourishing family business…A painter captures the taste and smell of a landscape.”

Oh and did I mention that this combination relates to the concept of ‘smother mothering’?  Now maternalism we might have had to some degree with a Hillary Clinton presidency but instead the US government was taken in a different and well-worn direction–of “smug and strong-armed paternalism”  (18 Capricorn, Jones) with the wrong-headed goal of perpetual war now more set in stone than before by neocons, Vulcans, and war profiteers.

So as the warmongers have their way with the tax payers’ money, Summer will begin and zoom toward a disruptive Solar Eclipse coming in August (29 Leo), an eclipse that ‘hits’ the natal Ascendant (physical body; Self) of Mr. Trump and ruffles his rising Mars in Leo. Will the Jupiterian Mr. Trump act as “The Great American Eclipse” visible across the entire country from Oregon to South Carolina?

Can the effects of the August 2017 eclipse , the first repetition of the 1 North Saros Series since it manifested in August 1999 as the ‘King of Terror’ eclipse predicted by Nostradamus, be symbolized as a hidden meaning of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan? Sounds a bit too coincidental to me…but I’m the suspicious type!

A Summary and Analysis of the ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ Fairy Tale

Wonder if Trumpelthinskin should read this fascinating article?!!

Interesting Literature

A curious introduction to a classic fairy story

How old do you think the story of Rumpelstiltskin is? It was famously included in the 1812 volume Children’s and Household Tales by the Brothers Grimm (a book that’s better known as Grimms’ Fairy Tales), but many of the tales written down by the German siblings were of a considerable vintage by then. The surprising thing is that the story of Rumpelstiltskin – albeit under a different name – is thought to be some 4,000 years old. To put that in perspective, that’s over a thousand years before Homer, and roughly contemporaneous with the earliest surviving versions of the tales that comprise the Epic of Gilgamesh, widely regarded as the oldest epic. Rumpelstiltskin, it turns out, is one of the earliest known narratives in Western literature.

The plot of the fairy tale can be summarised in a couple…

Notice: on or about October 11 or 12, 2016, Jude’s Threshold will shutter for the last time. My thanks and warm regards to all who have followed, commented, and shared its content during the 8 years of its existence.

However, due to time constraints, I have not been able to migrate all the posts here over to my new Astrology blog Jude Cowell Astrology though I did try and hope you will mosey to JCAstro when you have a chance where Follows are much appreciated and No Politics or politicians will mar the cyber landscape. (I have Stars Over Washington for that!)

As for WordPress, I will especially miss the re-blog feature its format provides but with an abundance of blogs to manage elsewhere, my schedule and blog collection need an autumnal sweep!

DARK MATTER by Philip Kerr

Sounds like an intriguing novel!

ellisnelson

kerr

I know Philip Kerr from his children’s novels and didn’t realize he wrote stories for adults. While searching for another book, I came upon his Dark Matter, a novel written in 2002 and it immediately caught my attention. It’s 1696 and Christopher Ellis has just taken on a job assisting Sir Isaac Newton at the Royal Mint. As Warden, it’s Newton’s job to hunt down counterfeiters. A challenging enough job but when mysterious murders start happening, Ellis plays Watson to Newton as an earlier version of Sherlock Holmes. Clues and body counts rise as Ellis and Newton face personal danger in the politically volatile back streets of London. Throw in a mix of alchemy and codes and we’re off on a most puzzling case. Turns out that more than the economy of the realm is threatened. A century’s old massacre pits Huguenots against Catholics in a revenge plot only…

“There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings.” Teaching children values and giving them the opportunity to excel are essential to good parenting. However, I feel I must also provide my children (and myself) insight into the ones who came before us: our ancestors whose lives and stories have shaped us into who we are. This is my journey; these are their stories…
