Solar Eclipse Jan 4, 2011: Sun Cap-Moon Cap

After a few days respite for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, I’m back to the salt mines of freebie blogging and putting out a little Political Astrology info for those who may care for Astrology used as a lens through which to view upclose the squirmy varmints of Politics.

Today is my first day back online so I spent it researching and typing a fresh Stars Over Washington post which concerns all the Solar (4) and Lunar (2) Eclipses of 2011 which you may perhaps find interesting.

You’ll discover that an image of the January 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 13Cap38 is shown; images of other 2011 eclipse horoscopes will be added to SO’W as time permits.

Yet what I didn’t mention in my post is info on the Sun-Moon blend of the January 2011 Solar Eclipse and so I shall add its details here.

Obviously, the sign Capricorn is highlighted with its law-government-business vibes; Sun Cap-Moon Cap is an Earth-Earth blend indicating down-to-earth and matter-of-fact influences. Patience, self-discipline, and realism are in evidence with this double helping of the ancient sign of the Mer Goat.

Sun Cap-Moon Cap fears chaos and I think all but the power elite can be said to ‘resemble that remark’ these days – especially given societal and economic conditions and the fact that 2011 will usher in the mysterious and much-touted year ‘2012’.

This practical combo of Capricorn energies gives a steadfast, autocratic, self-absorbed, conscientious, ambitious and purposeful demeanor to the start of 2011. There’s a pathological need for authority and security with a deep desire to make oneself immune from attack (as if!); ruler Saturn brings in the fear; meanwhile, professional recognition is sought for one’s wisdom, accomplishments, and status in society.

(As you know, Saturn and Jupiter are our ‘societal planets’.)

The Jan 2011 Solar Eclipse opposes US natal Sun (‘the leader’) so President Obama is front and center, or possibly is ‘eclipsed’ in some way.

A heavy emphasis is placed on material gains/goals and self-advancement during a Capricorn eclipse season yet given the state of the US and global economy, it’s understandable, even necessary.

Well, perhaps the Cap-Cap tendency toward common sense, practicality, and dependability will improve economic matters for the collective since the power elite already have more money than they can waste and spend – other than buying US elections directly now instead of their old-fashioned indirect methods, thanks to SCOTUS’ Citizen’s United decision of January 2010.

“Image for Integration” of the Sun (conscious mind) and Moon (unconscious) energies for the Jan 4, 2011 Solar Eclipse:

“A hoary old grandfather sits in his chair with this grandson on his knee. He gives him a gift for his seventh birthday – a first-edition of Pilgrim’s Progress.”

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey.)
