Spring Equinox 2010: Sun Aries-Moon Taurus

On March 20, 2010 at 1:32 pm edt in Washington, DC, Sun reaches 00Ari00, the Aries Point, and Spring begins. Also known as the Aries Ingress, this is a time of new beginnings, green shoots, and little birdies singing.

At that moment the Moon 26Tau13 will be in 11th house of Groups, Asscociations, Hopes and Wishes in DC. However, this position puts Luna atop a rather difficult Fixed Star, yet in a sensual mood so you may wish to read my recent post at Stars Over Washington where you’ll find an image of the Spring EQ 2010 chart, if you wish to snag a peek.

And yes, for now, the Cardinal T-Square is completed by Sun 00Ari00 opposing Saturn in Libra and pointing to apex Pluto in Capricorn.

But for here and now, let’s consider Spring EQ 2010’s Sun Ari-Moon Taurus blend, a Fire-Earth combo of energies which together evoke images of molten lava and bulldozers! Do these images remind you of the disaster in Haiti, quake though it was? Earth-Fire is the ‘scorched earth’ blend and yet it espresses positively, too. Read on…

Earth-Fire decribes a practical visionary, one who keeps his feet on the ground while instinctively trying for his main chance. Lucrative enterprises can be successfully begun under this influence with its entrepreneurial talents but its shadow hides a dictatorial insensitivity toward others and a powerful ego determined to dominate.

Sun in fiery Aries, Moon in earthy Taurus narrows the combo to one of tactlessness mixed with diplomacy, possessiveness, confidence, and ambition. Tough vs tender, Ari-Tau knows how to enjoy life, loves good food and comforts, and has a natural flair for finances which highlights the stock market for Spring 2010.

Some folk who share the Sun Ari-Moon Tau combo in their natal charts are: Hans Christian Andersen, Pierre Boulez, Elton John, Dianna Ross, Marcel Marceau, Gregory Peck, Wernher von Braun, Rene Descartes, beloved astrologer Howard Sasportas, and Washington Irving who helpfully advised us all that:

“A tart temper never mellows with age, and a sharp tongue is the only edged tool that grows keener with constant use.”

Hmm…to me this sounds like a perfect spur of encouragement for dissenting bloggers everywhere!

Now here are the ‘Images for Integration’ for Sun Ari-Moon Tau which will somehow ‘color’ the Spring of 2010:

“An explorer practices the violin in a jungle clearing…Having won an arduous race, the champion sits down to a gourmet meal.”

(‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Charles and Suzi Harvey.)

Wishing for All a Happy and Prosperous Spring 2010!

Update March 16, 2010: Things are about to go Live for the first annual Astrology Day Blogathon the weekend of Spring Equinox! If you’re concerned about the difficult energies of the Cardinal T-Square (or are perhaps already feeling its effects) you may wish to grab a sneak peek at the Cosmic Art Gallery which has been set up for the Blogathon at Secret Moon Art.

There you’ll find the links you’ll need to plug in to the Blogathon’s articles on handling Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto energies as they square off against one another and things heat up – from Spring 2010 into 2014.

The Astrology Day Blogathon goes Live on Friday March 19 featuring Donna Cunningham’s ‘Pluto Problems Got You Perplexed? Here’s What Helps’, then on Saturday March 20, Mandi Lockley’s ‘Look After Saturn and Saturn Will Look After You’ debuts.

Sunday March 21 brings us C. J. Wright (‘Aunti Moon’) and her article, ‘Uranus in Aries: Claiming a Self-Reliant Future’ so do drop in and stay awhile for a bunch of good reads and beneficial insights.

Plus, many other astrologers will be providing helpful articles on similar themes as well so I hope to see you at Astrology Day Blogathon 2010 – I’ll be the one showing the Cosmic Art!

  1. Is this like fiddling while Rome burns? Is our reward a revolution?
Maybe that’s just how I feel. My itchy feet are tappin’ a tune, in place.

    • Donna, it seems to be headed that way with certain gov types and media types egging on a revolution, a good excuse (they think) to declare martial law.

But we know the pen is mightier – at least until they take away all our pens (and internet?)

Thanks for commenting, my friend, Jude
