Wedding Day Astrology: Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsky

with 8 comments

July 31, 2010: The place: Rhinebeck, NY; the couple: Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky; the hour? Unknown. “This evening” is the closest thing I’ve found to a time for the happy couple’s ceremony but for the purposes of this Wedding Day Astrology Report, the Moon remains in Aries with Sun in Leo, a Fire-Fire combination of energies.

Today’s Sun 8 Leo conjoins Chelsea’s natal Moon 9Leo45, a perfect description and timer of being joined in marriage! Here are some bio details and natal chart details for Chelsea Clinton, born Feb 27, 1980, along with mention of Marc’s birthdate, Dec 15, 1977 (mere weeks after Chiron was discovered.)

In Marc’s natal chart (‘noon’), Mars 11Leo30 Rx will be transited by the Sun in early August, a time of pride and of putting plans into action. This will be good energy for a honeymoon sojourn! And progressing his ‘noon’ chart to July 31, 2010 shows a classic marker for when it’s time for marriage to occur: Sun conjunct Venus.

Fire-Fire is a combo indicating intense passion and creativity, and lives lived from a very self-centered perspective because life is approached according to keenly felt beliefs and visions of what could be – based on subjective truth.

Yes, double Fire is very tuned in to its inner reality which may result in a lack of awareness of others. (This describes their partnership, not just the passing energies of their wedding day.) Enormous enthusiasm is shown, however, with an inspiring, childlike ability to enjoy life to the fullest, yet patience is not a strong suit of Fire-Fire.

Natural leadership abilities are embedded within the Clinton-Mezvinsky partnership, though pessimism may turn up when things go through a rough patch (as all relationships will do.)

Sun = male principle; Moon = feminine principle; Sun/Moon = marriage.

Sun Leo-Moon Aries: self-confidence, passionate and adventurous, reckless nobility, vanity, and a social consciousness in spite of its self-centeredness, this blend possess the idealistic dedication of a knight in shining armour or a Don Quixote.

(Interestingly, Chelsea’s natal chart has Hidalgo Rx exactly conjoining her natal Ascendant and thus, rising: both = 16Sco21! Hidalgo relates to the Spanish title ‘don’ and is one of the ‘power’ asteroids in Astrology.)

Leo-Aries has a warm-hearted, extroverted personality which is always eager to embrace life, love, and success in huge amounts and to the point of an assumption of ‘divine right’. Guile and pretence are completely lacking with this combo which is a gambling, daring blend of fiery energies. A dramatic spirit impels the combo forward toward making its own mark (so Bill & Hillary may soon have to stand aside for more than this evening’s ceremony!)

This blend (their patnership) does not indicate irresponsibility for all its self-cernteredness and impatience – lecturing, media, business, and theater are areas in which they will shine. Yet they first look to others as models and may tend twoard hero-worship as they learn through others how to be great. Obviously, they have several icons to look up to, though favorite professors may fill the bill as well.

Great powers of persuasion, courage, optimism, and a desire to leave the world a better place make this a noble combination under which to start their married lives together, and I send Best Wishes to the happy couple, Mr. and Mrs. Marc Mezvinsky!

Now check out the two word pictures for Sun Leo-Moon Aries – the first image describes Marc and the second one sounds like a bride-to-be waking upon her wedding day!

‘Images for Integration: A knight errant dedicates his next grand adventure to the mistress of his heart, and then rides off into the sunset in a cloud of dust…A young child wakes in the morning with wide eyes and great excitement, as a whole day of play lies ahead.’ (‘Sun Sign, Moon Sign, by Charles & Suzy Harvey.)

  2. So worried that there is no mention of the Saturn/Mars conjunction in Libra, squaring Pluto, opposing Jupiter/Uranus – too wide to hit the couple’s Leo planets? These are divisive and scary aspects for any event chart and portend volatile energies in this marriage…..yet all you are doing is focusing on the fire?

    • Susan, you’re aware of the ongoing Cardinal T-SQ and Grand Cross energies as am I. My Wedding Day Astrology Reports focus on the Sun-Moon/male-female principles that describe marriage. If I included a full analysis of each wedding day chart I’d probably despair that any marriage would last more than a week! And I never wish to predict a marriage’s failure – my intent is to describe the male-female aspects of it from a personality stand point.

And as you know, each partner’s motivation has much to do with a relationship’s success or failure in spite of planetary factors.

Yes, their partnership has the Cardinal difficulties we all are experiencing now. However, they have lots of resources which the average couple cannot call upon. That said, does the chart look strong in the longevity department? Not so much, i agree! Jude ;p

  3. For an official analysis, should we wait until we know the time of the ceremony? I’m sure we will find out soon. In the meantime, how about some general observations: Do you think it is okay to schedule a wedding with Jupiter retro? Also, to marry when Mars has just entered a new sign? Further, Mars is not well placed in Libra, opposing the Aries point, and Venus is not well placed in Virgo? Not to mention that there is that Saturn-Uranus opposition involving the Aries point.
Because this is such a high profile event, and such an expensive one, it is easier to offer criticism of this event from a mundane rather than astrological viewpoint:
At a time of economic distress, a Princess is being wed to an investment banker, Marc M, at the Astor mansion. It is hard to imagine that this would be ‘okay’ with anyone with political sensitivities, bride or groom. When I looked up Chelsea Clinton’s natal info, I saw that her middle name is “Victoria.”
So given all of this, my initial analysis is: Chelsea Victoria Clinton, Queen for a Day.

    • Hi Higgins, thanks for adding your insights. i agree with what you say astrologically and mundanely but wanted to give the couple the benefit of the doubt since i was writing the report ON their wedding day.

Yes, the splendor of the festivities and uppercrust location are completely out of tune with America’s condition these days (and the location caused me to sputter when i 1st heard of it – could hardly believe it!) so i can’t say i’ll keep to an easy view of the partnership – plus, as you note there are several astro-factors that will be difficult to overcome as the relationship goes forward. Marriage isn’t always easy but they have some…challenges, both natally and as a couple.

But as with all astrology and the lives it describes, everything will depend on what they choose to do with what they’ve been given. Jude

  4. With that prominent Leo emphasis (of course — this is a royal wedding, American style), I suppose much depends on how well they can embody the archetypes of king and queen. If so, creativity in the form of a resplendent “court” can be bountiful. If not, what a drama of prideful, “I’M in charge here!” behavior.
The Neptunian element is very prominent — his Sun-Venus-Neptune, her Neptune closely on his Sun. From a quick look at Wiki piece on his dad, former Congressman who later did prison time for fraud, Neptune seems to run in the family. (Dad Ed Mezvinsky 1/17/37 – Sun 180 Pluto, Venus in Pisces 180 Neptune!) Should be interesting.

    • Hi Pete, thanks for weighing in. i agree with what you note about Neptunian influences and if these were my relatives i’d have strongly cautioned them long ago! We must deceive ourselves before others can, don’t we?

They have been together for years so one assumes that both have made peace with the issues Neptune insidiously brings but that’s from my older p.o.v. (been there, done that) – and i bit my keyboard while typing the report so i wouldn’t mention Chelsea’s father-in-law’s ethics issues. He has paid for his crimes after all and it’s her choice of marriage partner. Whatever. ;p

Agreed on the king/queen archetype – and something tells me that for this couple, it won’t be just ‘For a Day’. Jude
