Spring Equinox 2009 horoscope

Spring Equinox 2009 over the White House, Washington DC, 7:43:34 am edt; Venus Rx rising, Pluto conjunct Midheaven.

Well, this isn’t exactly a Spring Has Sprung lighthearted chart as you see. With money planet Venus retrograde and in the spotlight as she rises, we’ll be hearing the ‘give back the money’ for the duration of the season.

This is a Spring EQ chart because the Sun clocks in at Aries Point (00Aries00) and the Moon, which can cause fluctuations wherever she goes, is in 10th house of Public Standing and Career for 2009.

’18Cap’ is the New World Order degree of 1993’s Uranus-Neptune conjunction. Uranus-Neptune = Moon: impressionability; sensitivity; a fit of weakness; delving into mysteries; emotional conviction; sense of being on the right track.

As always with midpoint pictures, it can be an ‘all, any, or none’ manifestation.

Basically, the wide square (90 degr) between Venus and Pluto (the dragon who guards the ultimate riches) has an immediate outlet here at two angles of the chart, the Ascendant (What?) and Midheaven (Mc), the Goal Point of any chart (Why?)

Pluto at Mc has secret connections with underworld political activities – so what else is new, right? Big surprise that global bankers have major outlets for action now – we hear of them everyday yet most of us don’t realize who’s up to what with their manufactured econo-crisis.

But active they are.

At the Foundation or How? Point (Ic) we ‘see’ America’s natal Venus, Jupiter, and Sun in Cancer (3 – 14Can) but please ignore the Venus I penned into the 4th house – US Venus is in 3rd house of this chart – my oops.

Critical degrees (29) are on the 5/11, the Will Axis, and 5th house = Gambling and Risk-Taking as well. SN is there indicating past behaviors that need to be directed into 11th house activities and goals.

And 11th house of Hopes, Wishes, and Group Associations is quite full of Aquarian placements: North Node 8:01, moneybags Jupiter 16:51, Chiron 23:49, and Neptune 25:14.

Aquarius’ natural house is said to be the 11th, so we may continue to expect much energy and action from this pile-up in egalitarian Aquarius concerning groups.

Jupiter is conjunct Ronald Reagan’s natal Sun, btw, at the “end of progress” degree, ’17AQ.’

Actually, America has some history with ’17AQ’: transiting Mars was there when the Shah was deposed in Iran; Mars was also there when the Pentagon Papers were released – and when Nixon began taping his White House conversations.

Now why did I draw a frowny face near the 8th cusp? Because the cusp has 19Sco18 upon it, traditionally known as the ‘accursed degree of the accursed sign’ though some say this isn’t too reliable. But there is a Fixed Star at 19Sco00 which possibly relates to the ‘cursedness’ of the degree: Alpha Serpentis…’tragedy and misfortune.’

Shared Resources, Credit, Insurance, Debt, Hidden Things – the 8th house is not one to take lightly but we already know some of the issues on our national menu, hard to swallow as they may be – such things will indeed get worse before they get better according to this chart.

Plus, there’s the difficult 11 South Solar Eclipse of July 22, 2009 to navigate into 2010 with its ‘any blocks may be tragically or violently removed – systems and methods fail’ vibe. (Brady’s ‘Predictive Astrology.’) This Eclipse will occur at ’29Cancer’ conjunct the 5th cusp of this chart, as you see.

This is the same Solar Eclipse Series in which the murder of writer Danny Casolaro occurred – he was doing research for a book on ‘the Octopus’, a nickname for the world crime syndicate now busy crashing the global economy. We should all ask Bush Sr about it, he’d know since he was president during 11 South’s last manifestation on July 11, 1991 at ’19Can’, another difficult, violence-prone degree…and it’s Casolaro’s natal degree of Mercury, planet of Writers.

But I digress (or do I?)

Saturn 17Vir28 Rx, is the handle of the ‘bucket’, and the old man is alone in 6th house of Health, Work, and Service. ’17Virgo’ is the trigger degree from the mid-60s conjunction/s of Uranus and Pluto, particularly their first conjunction of Oct 9, 1965 at 17Vir10.

The Uranus-Pluto pair is described by Ebertin as ‘revolution; collapse of the old order, construction of the new; transformation’ – the 60s, baby!

(But sometimes Uranus-Pluto simply stands for Rock’n’Roll…Uranus = electricity, Pluto = sex, drugs, and…well, sex and drugs.

Anyway, we may wish to consider the picture formed by 2009’s Saturn triggering this sensitive degree…

Uranus-Pluto = Saturn: egotism; autocratic leadership; ‘my way is the best way’; pressure from others; toppled from position (Geithner? Summers? some golden-parachuted CEO? Senator Chris Dodd?)

Another thing about the Foundation/Ic – it has Cancer, its natural sign upon it signifying more Domestic and Home/Homeless issues and fluctuations there.

Add in 5th house with crisis degree ’29Can’ on its cusp and we get more crises concerning home mortgages; plus, issues over products used in the home, including food. The FDA and unstable food supplies Spring to mind.

Therefore, Capricorn, sign of management, control, law, and government, is at Mc so Saturn rules Midheaven and the Goals and Aspirations for the 2009  Spring season. The plutocratic, corporate, fascist Pluto-Chiron midpoint continues to be conjunct US natal Pluto, planet of power and manipulation.

And April 7, 2009 will bring America’s Nodal Half-Return, when associations are broken or discontinued if they are weak, but are strengthened if viable. We’ll see who says ‘buh-bye’ round about then.

In the behind-the-scenes 12th house are Mercury, debilitated in confused, possibly deceptive Pisces (19:57), Uranus 23:02, Sun 00Ari00, and Venus as previously mentioned – rising to be dealt with immediately. Yet Venus conj ASC indicates one who is a charming conniver, a self-seeking ‘people collector.’

Planets in 12th house relate to politicians and politics, and you see that Mars 4Pis11 is there as well, conjunct America’s Secondary Progressed Sun. Mars in Pisces usually takes muddled actions although inspired action is possible if the energy is well-handled.

Chart-ruler Mars is involved in a midpoint…

Sun-NN= Mars: vigorous drives with others to gain personal importance; cooperation and teamwork.

Mars applies to a semi-square (45 degr) to Moon (0A16) which is a minor irritation possibly relating to health. The only other applying aspect of Mars is an opportunistic sextile with Mc. The sextile with Pluto is passing (separating; waning)  but a sextile between them indicates caution before action.

First to Rise:

President Obama’s first natal planet to rise in the Spring EQ 2009 chart is his Moon 3Gem21, in 2nd house of this chart. But Taurus, a money sign, is on 2nd cusp, so it’s all about money, and before long, he may be changing (Moon) his tune concerning money issues for Gemini indicates possible duplicity or double-talk – or two messages delivered simultaneously…perhaps one to the public and one to his plutonic, hidden bosses, or to some special interest group/s (one of whose name starts with Z and ends with -ionists.)

Or he could simply be writing and/or communicating information  (Gemini) concerning the monetary situation (2nd house)  for public consumption (Moon.)

Note: Mr. Obama is scheduled to speak on TV, Tuesday, March 24 at 8 pm edt in a “primetime address” to the nation.

But back to Spring Equinox 2009…

Uranus is the ‘oriental planet’ as noted on the chart which gives a flavor of adventure, danger, and innovation to the work environment, and a need for taking chances. As you may know, Uranus is oriental in the birth charts of Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Hoffa, Orville Wright, and Madonna.

With a Fire-Earth blend of Sun Aries-Moon Capricorn, there is strong ego-energy (Sun) which feeds the reigning need (Moon) to administrate progress and make things happen; ambition is heated yet there is a cool administrative detachment that intersects and defines success (Noel Tyl.)

This Sun-Moon blend is shared natally by Al Gore, David Letterman, Paloma Picasso, Sara Vaughn, and Otto von Bismarck. And if you think it describes Pres. Obama at this stage of life, we agree!

At the top of the chart, I’ve scribbled a midpoint formula involving Jupiter from which we get these powerful pictures…one involving Neptune, one with Pluto…

Sun-Pluto = Jupiter: successfully striving for power; expansion of power base; international opportunities.
