Wedding Day Astrology: Joe and Jill Biden

with 2 comments

Joe and Jill Biden were wed on June 17, 1977 in New York City, and since the Moon sojourned in Cancer for the entire 24-hour period, we may be confident that the Bidens’ marriage and partnership has a Sun Gemini-Moon Cancer combination.

Cancer, as you know, is the sign of home, nurturing, and family, and quick-witted Gemini adds mental energy to the synergy.

Sun (male priniciple) and Moon (feminine principle) as a relationship indicator tells a tale for the Bidens of a kind and chatty duo, on the clannish side but with a great interest in other people.

This duo is insatiably curious and is first to welcome newcomers into the neighborhood. A private and cautious pair, thoughts (Gem) and feelings (Can) are closely intwined as the Bidens illuminate and reinforce one another nicely.

Family life is a top priority and I’m sure you’ve heard of Senator Biden’s journeys home each weekend from his Washington duties.

There is, however, a certain nervousness and a divine discontent within the Gem-Can blend for this warm and sociable couple – social welfare, mental health causes, and work with children are possible interests. (Jill Biden (born June 5, 1951, Hammonton, NJ; Ceres conj NN in Pisces) is listed on Wikipedia as “an educator.”)

Gem-Cancer is a ‘forever learning’ combo that needs to express its many impressions and intutiions much as a wide-eyed child would do. There’s a romantic falling-in-love-easily vibe here as well which needs lots of affection.

Emotional impressionability is added to mental capacities – knowing and communicating gives emotional significance to this combo;  rest, calm, and sureness about emotional matters are the objectives.

Domestic stability is a must to the point that there may be a fear of leaving the family domain; the snug safety of a family nest is needed in order to develop highest potentials.

Natally this Sun-Moon blend is shared by quite a varied bunch: Don Ameche, Boy George, Thomas Hardy, Bob Hope, Igor Stravinsky, Grant Lewi, Nancy Sinatra, and Earth Day founder, Sen. Gaylord Nelson.

Images for Integration:

‘A university student comes home for the summer…A brother and sister and other neighborhood friends play rounders in the garden until mother calls them home for lunch.’

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Chas & Suzy Harvey; some notes from Dr. Noel Tyl.)
