Virgo New Moon Sept 8, 2010 echoes LBJ

How can the Virgo New Moon of September 8, 2010 ‘echo’ President Lyndon B. Johnson? you might ask. Well, read on and I’ll tell ya.

LBJ was born with Sun and Moon in Virgo which is obviously the Sun-Moon blend of the ‘Rosh Hashanah New Moon’ this Sept 8th, the beginning of a new cycle of activity for the month.

Born in Johnson City, Texas on August 27, 1908 at 5:00 am (rating A: from memory), Mr. Johnson had a plethora of Virgo in his natal chart, all in 1st house of The Self: Mars, Sun, Moon, and Mercury, from 2 – 11 degrees of Virgo.

He was born within the 19 North Solar Eclipse Series with its ‘realism; a coming down to earth; becoming aware of an old situation and seeing it for what it is rather than what one thought it was; the eclipse brings a constructive time for tackling the truth.” (Paraphrasing Brady’s Predictive Astrology.)

‘Coming down to earth’ must make a very loud thud with so much earthy Virgo in you.

Interesting that NPR just today aired another part of their feature on the rescue of the South Vietnamese Navy by the USS Kirk which was sent back to Vietnam for them after US troops were evacuated from Saigon. Our country’s anti-war protests kept LBJ up at night and led to his refusal to seek another term – along with the horror of the killing fields, one assumes.

Though I was a whippersnapper when LBJ was walking the White House halls, I remember his famous announcement not to run or serve again and my feeling of relief over it (but little did I know what and who were coming on the scene.)

So what about Sun Virgo-Moon Virgo? The Sept 8 New Moon has a similar vibe as LBJ’s so should we investigate this double Earth, pragmatic combo?

First off, Sun Virgo-Moon Virgo identifies with work. Concerned and conscientious, this personality blend possesses excellent analytical skill, precision, and a desire to synthesize knowledge and use it in practical ways.

Attention to detail gives a major perfectionist streak to the personality which (unless corrupted by power or other forces) is the soul of honesty and kindness – a bit shy, actually. Here is both a thinker and a doer who doesn’t like interference when engaged in an important task.

‘Actions speak louder than words’ and ‘practical idealism’ are phrases that well describe this blend while a tendency toward allowing self-doubt and self-criticism to undermine self-confidence makes being in charge of large enterprises difficult.

Why, you may even give up the presidency of the United States over an ill-advised and difficult war!

Virgo is the sign of Health and Diet, as you know, and is an integral part of America’s natal chart with Neptune 22Vir25 and Fixed Star, Spica (‘potential for brilliance’) prominent.

Plus, Virgo is associated with the archetype of Ceres, a nurturing feminine symbol usually shown holding sheafs of grain in her hands apparently plucked from our ‘amber waves of grain’.

(Plus, there’s “Give us your tired, your poor,” etc which implies ‘we’ll give ’em jobs and feed ’em, too’…then, but no longer.)

So did you know this earthy combo is shared natally by actor David McCallum and author Count Leo Tolstoy? Neither did I. Now here is a quote from President Johnson which sounds just like him according to his Sun Virgo-Moon Virgo traits:

“I strive for the best and do the possible.”

Spoken like a quadruple Virgo with dedicated Vesta in Virgo, too!

Astrology of the Kent State Massacre May 4, 1970

If you’re familiar with the language of Astrology, and perhaps even if you’re not, you may wish to view the Horoscope of the Kent State Massacre of May 4, 1970 with today being its 40th anniversary.

As you know, in mundane charts an angular planet is a prime suspect in cases of death but at 12:34 pm on May 4, 1970, Kent Ohio, there isn’t one angular planet (Moon/Mc), there are two…Jupiter Rx in Libra at Ic, opposing Moon in early Taurus.

All discussion on governmental abuse of power, Richard Nixon (its poster child), Kent State, the chart itself, and other related topics will be warmly welcomed if you can manage to navigate Blogger’s commenting requirements and proffer your insights concerning the above-linked post.

(If you’re not signed up with Blogger already, you can ‘pretend’ sign up as if you’re starting a blog but not actually create one. Then you can say, suckas!)

We may as well face it for it’s just as true in 2010 as it was in 1970: Speakin’ Power to the Man can be dangerous for your health. And the crazy-makin’ part is that dissenting is one of the most “American” actions anyone can ever take, thanks to our country’s founding when freedom-loving Uranus was traversing thoughtful, communicative Gemini.

To me it seems the anti-war protests of the 1960s and 70s in the US held a Venusian values competition to prove who deserved to be ‘right’ – student protesters taking the higher ground of moral values now lost, or the establishment fighting to maintain its power structures and the status quo where it led and the masses meekly followed.

Add to that a backdrop of the titanic Pluto-to-natal-Neptune power struggle underway then for America and you have a combustible brew of dynamic energies too hot to readily handle.

The Kent State Massacre is the kind of old and still-open wound that youth-worshiping America prefers to look away from in horror as we rush to retreat into our national Sagittarian nature (ASC in the Sibly chart) which chants the Jupiter Mantra each day and imagines there’s always a new quest to seek and fulfill…just over the next horizon.

Only in this case, the ‘next horizon’ was merely a campus hilltop in Ohio where a cadre of National Guardsmen took aim and fired their weapons at unarmed students by authority passed through a chain of command that extended like a monster’s tentacle into the highest office of the nation.

And they called him Tricky Dick for good reason.

Proud to be an American

Soul-searching after Senator Edward Kennedy’s Passing…

One thing you may as well know: I had friends who served, and friends who dodged the draft, during the Vietnam War, an abomination on par with the Bush-Cheney ‘Cakewalk’ invasion of Iraq 2003 to __?__.

My belief is that President Obama’s expansion of US troops into Afghanistan, Pakistan (and wherever else the zionists take him) is a mistaken course. For one thing, true success doesn’t come when a vengeful spirit is indulged. Such ‘success’ is only temporary for it is not based on permanent values upon which the Universe hinges (Love is the Foundation.)

Senator Kennedy’s passing last evening has me thinking about how I was once prouder to be an American than I’ve been able to be in the last several years of ‘rule’ by the zealous emotional robots who bedevil us to this day and beyond.

And if I never get to feel proud of America again, so be it, I’ll just have to deal.

But do one favor for me please? If you haven’t yet, read this one article: Thugs of Fortune, posted by Jeff Huber.

Thank You.
