Threat level up as Jupiter returns to 9/11/01 chart

August 2013: An Astro-Peek at Activations of the 9/11/01 Horoscope

by Jude Cowell

As you’ve heard, the US government is reporting an increase in terrorist “chatter” as the 12th anniversary of the WTC attacks of 9/11/01 approaches. This year marks the first Jupiter Return to the 9/11 horoscope for Jupiter’s cycle is 12 years in duration.

See Threats Against Embassies Very Reminiscent of Pre-9/11 Chatter.

On the morning of September 11, 2001 at 8:46 am edt NYC, monied Jupiter was posited in 9th house of Foreign Lands and Philosophy @11Can35 and carried the Sabian Symbol, “A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby with a Message”, a word picture I attempted to illustrate a few moons ago. View the image here if you wish.

Naturally the symbol’s reference to our creditor China and to a ‘message’ is intriguing especially since it attaches to 9/11’s position of Jupiter the Banker–in the 9th house of foreigners. This is not to leave out Middle Eastern or other actors on 9/11/01 but to focus on Jupiter since the Great Benefactor now returns to the natal position he held on that game-changing morning.

Actually, Jupiter’s retrograde in Cancer later this year creates a “three-fer” of returns to the 9/11 natal degree with the first return occurring on August 18, 2013, the second on February 7, 2014 (Rx), and the last return on April 2, 2014. This extended return period indicates a prolonged season of concerns involving terrorism with increased threat levels on into 2014, and it has Jupiterian financial implications as well though effects may be of a stop-go nature.

Raising the threat level makes sense and yet…will the “more chatter” situation be used in an attempt to justify intrusive NSA surveillance programs and leave them as they stand–even those used against the privacy of the American (and other) people who have nothing at all to do with terrorism? If we begin to hear politicians and pundits spouting such equivocations, perhaps we’ll be pardoned for having our suspicions if any attack/s occur–or are thwarted–by America’s total surveillance prowess.

Well, it’s somewhat confusing to hope (a Jupiter word!) that this is or isn’t the case since our
distrust of the US government
is also at high levels (or depths!) and this may cause any violent attacks relating to 9/11/01 or otherwise appear as much like a false flag op as the original event still seems to many who doubt the ‘official version’ of 9/11/01.

(And tell me again: exactly why was NORAD shut down the morning of 9/11/01?)

Another consideration with astrological Jupiter is that he expands and increases whatever he contacts or is involved with–positively or negatively–and the added challenge of transit Pluto in Capricorn opposing 9/11’s Jupiter (and the two planets combined = big bankers, influential politicians, those who mount large-scale projects, and/or powerful religious leaders)–and US natal Jupiter (5Can56)–denotes limiting conditions, commercial and/or trading difficulties, and a potential for travel interruptions occurring off and on.

Also, Jupiter loves freedom as does Uranus and right now, transit Uranus @12Ari07 Rx (a critical-crisis degree) squares (90 degr) 9/11’s Jupiter denoting rebelliousness against restrictions (one signature of Gitmo and other prison breaks, plus, political cat-herding in Washington), dissatisfaction with political views in or of society, and a distinct potential for erratic or misplaced generosity.

Add in the fact that transit Saturn now in early Scorpio (sign of Big Business, debt, surveillance, the occult, death and regeneration, transformation, betrayal, etc) will soon enter the 2nd house of Earning Ability and the National Treasury in the 9/11/01 horoscope–and eventually visit 9/11’s Pluto (@12Sag38, America’s natal Ascendant in the ‘Sibly’ chart) which happens to conjoin 9/11’s 3rd cusp of Communications and Short Trips. This transit denotes a time of power issues and the loss of control over situations which were just too big to begin with.

To me, Saturn-to-Pluto conjunct US natal ASC sounds rather like the gargantuan and rights-abusing US surveillance system with its frilly underpants recently yanked down a mite by former NSA employee Edward Snowden…that, and our corrupt-to-the-core financial system of Too Big To Fail banks, plus, the highly rigged casino we call, Wall Street.

Now isn’t wearing saggy pants now illegal in some states?

Oh, and one more thing: 9/11’s 2nd cusp mentioned above has an appropriate Sabian Symbol when its degree (11Sco28) is rounded up to ’12Sco”: “An Embassy Ball”.

Julie Demboski on Sept 8’s Virgo New Moon

Well, I didn’t get around to noting the Sabian Symbol for today’s New Moon 15Vir40 on this blog or that, so I am happy to find that expert astrologer Julie Demboski did.

If you’ve yet to check out Julie’s insightful approach to astrological writing, this could be your chance!

New Moon 24Sag39 on Dec 16, 2009

In this blog’s sidebar you’ll find a feed to Julie Demboski’s excellent blog with her insightful details on the New Moon of Dec, 2009 @ 24Sag39.

The Sabian Symbol for this new cycle of activity, which Julie terms a Fantasy New Moon (oooh!) is for ’25Sag’…”A Chubby Boy on a Hobby Horse” which Marc Edmund Jones gives as EMULATION.

Positive expression: an indomitable determination to give the lesser potentialities of existence a more effective dimension;

Negative/Unconscious/Shadow Side: idle self-indulgence and ingenuous claims of merit.

Got hobbies? Perhaps you may begin a new cycle of activity where you showcase them! And with December holidays coming up perhaps we’ll be inspired to play and have fun before the Blue Moon Eclipse of Dec 31 ends our year.

News reports say that sales are up for retailers so that’s good for the economy and for your Aunt Granny Fanny who’s pining for a gift from you that doesn’t involve checkered socks! (Surely you can do better than that.)

The New Moon’s Sun Sag/Moon Sag combo of Fire-Fire energies is an interesting blend for its optimism and faith in the future. The essential benevolence of life found in this blend is perfect for the celebration of our Savior’s birth (if you believe that way, as I do.)

Sun Sag/Moon Sag is a blend shared natally by Max Born, Joan Didion, Randy Newman, and Ludwig von Beethoven, composer of ‘Ode to Joy’ who said:

“Give happiness and joy to many other people. There is nothing better or greater than that.”

I’m guessing Beethoven’s music does that even when his personality didn’t.

Happy Holiday New Moon!

Chiron and Sun/Venus

Master astrologer Zane Stein, an early watcher of and author on Chiron, has written an informative article which reveals the importance of the Sun/Venus cycle and Chiron which you will find intriguing for the Mars/Venus relationship is also involved.

Mr. Stein predicts that much more about Chiron will soon come to light…that what we think we know of the Wounded Healer archetype in an Astrology chart is only the mere tip of a vast iceberg.

You remember the Sabian Symbol of Chiron’s Nov 1, 1977 discovery degree, right?

From Dane Rudhyar’s ‘An Astrological Mandala’…

‘4 Taurus’: “The Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow”…Keynote: Riches that come from linking the celestial and the earthly natures.

This refers to “the bridge used by divine beings to communicate with mortals.”

Rudhyar goes on to note that the rainbow is symbol of universally valid wealth: “All wealth, in a very real sense, comes from “commerce”; i.e. from the commingling of minds and from contracts, and thus is based on faith in the validity of a promise.”

Now if we can find some residual faith in commerce and the Fed – our faith now in tatters since today’s revelation of the Fed’s lying to us last Fall about banks being sound – we should be able to move on with new commercial pursuits and ‘bridge’ this economy back together for us mere mortals in spite of a deceptive upper class who imagine themselves to be ‘immortal beings’ deserving of all the world’s wealth because they know how to work the system they invented to enrich themselves while keeping the lower classes enslaved in debt and penury.

Saturn-Uranus opposition exact Sep 15, 2009

Update April 26, 2010: yes, Saturn and Uranus are facing off this very day @ 28Vir46 Rx (Sat) vs 28Pis46 Direct (Uranus)…in fact, at the moment of this typing!

(You may notice a smidge of repetition from my original post in this Update…sorry, but some things bear repeating!) Now back to Saturn opposing Uranus:

Their next exact (partile) opposition will be on or about July 26, 2010 @ 00Lib25 Direct (Saturn, conjunct US natal Midheaven in the Sibly chart) and 00Ari25 Rx (Uranus); Uranus to US natal Ic/4th house indicates unstable home conditions (including in the ‘homeland’) and longterm cycles of activity begin or end while Uranus in in 4th house.

Plus, new, progressive or disruptive elements suddenly enter the environment, both in our personal lives, and on the national scene.

Of course, the other end of the brittle Saturn-Uranus duo is Saturn to US natal Mc, as mentioned above, and we experience the restrictions, accountability issues, and extra responsibilities which accrue when Mr. Realism visits his favorite abode, the 10th house of Career and Public Status, where the Lesson-Bringer naturally rules.

Besides the angularity and thus the importance of this transit to the US natal chart, America will soon be starting another new cycle of Saturnian things as described by her Saturn Return which will be a three-fer this time, @ 14Lib48, on or about:

1. Dec 3, 2010;
2. Mar 22, 2011 Rx;
3. Aug 28, 2011

Honor Saturn’s teachings and Saturn will honor you!

My original post begins here:

What a find! Not having much Astrology blogging time recently due to Art stuff, I was thrilled to find that the wonderful Donna Cunningham has published an article by Lynda Hill on today’s exact (partile) opposition of the two antithetical planets, status quo Saturn and progressive rebel Uranus.

Oppositions are always about relationships and, unlike squares which can blind side us, leave room for adaptations and adjustments. Yet this pair of planets can be quite brittle if their lessons are resisted. And both are of a cold quality.

Lynda’s specialty, as you know, is the Sabian Symbols, so you’ll want to check out her analysis of Saturn-Uranus’ opposition degrees at Donna’s blog, SkyWriter.

Saturn opposite Uranus is telling us to Let Go! says Lynda, of all the things that hold us back. They will be partile again in January, April, May, and July 2010, when Saturn will be @ 1 Libra, Uranus @ 1 Aries.

‘1 Libra/Aries’ puts their opposition upon America’s natal Mc/IC axis, the Career and Public Status polarity in our Sibly chart (00:53 Lib/Ari) and will occur during our US Saturn Return.

Accountability, anyone?

Saturn to Mc is a time of increased status since in western Astrology we say the 10th house is Saturn’s natural abode (Capricorn is the 10th sign); responsibilities increase as well. Not blaming others for past mistakes is a must, however, for best outcomes.

Yes, America’s natal Saturn is in its sign of exaltation (Libra) so perhaps with current attempts by government to straighten out the mess our previous slackness has plopped us in, perhaps more improvement will be obvious by July 2010. Saturn to Mc is a great time to correct one’s direction, if need be.

Our legal system may be involved as well (Libra’s ‘Scales of Justice’), and relationships may become stronger in the wider world (00Ari/00Libra are World Points of prominence where global events may occur – also 00Can/00Cap, points which make up the Cardinal Cross everyone is blogging about these days.)

As a nation, we have abused our position of authority in the past (Saturn), so facing our culpabilities and bucking up to difficult tasks more realistically are our only chances for real change with Saturn at Mc.

Yet the fly in the ointment may be Uranus to natal Ic, the Foundation of the country and natal chart, with the 4th house of Domestic Scene, Roots and Heritage. Mars rules there for America.

This transit in any chart relates to disruptive, unstable situations concerning the Home (Ic = cusp of the 4th house.) In a national chart this points to the domestic scenes of indivduals, and to the ‘homeland’ in general.

Long-term cycles of endeavor may be altered abruptly or ended entirely; the number of refugees from loss of homes or other catastrophes may increase, sorry to say.

My hope is that with stable Saturn at Midheaven, Uranian disruptions at Ic may be balanced at least in part by Saturnian control by government – hey, wait a minute – all my grousings about a ‘new world order’ make that a fretful proposition!

Yet more control (regulation = Saturn) of the markets on Wall Street would be a good thing. Still, if the Saturn-Uranus opposition on US natal Mc-Ic leads to a NWO take-over, I’m going to be really po’d. Aren’t you?

Okay, I’ll hush about it for now.

Please don’t let my NWO grousings here dissuade you from checking out Lynda’s insightful analysis with info from her marvelous book, ‘360 Degrees of Wisdom’ which I highly recommend and use myself.

Jupiter Direct Station in AQ 10.13.09

Update Oct 13 2009: a post on this morning’s Senate Finance Committee’s vote on Health Insurance legislation has been published where I’ve linked today’s <a href="http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2009/10/senate-finance-votes-on-health-reform.html
Jupiter Direct Station and its implications for today’s vote @10:00 am edt.

You may not be surprised to see which of America’s natal planets arose at 10 am in Washington DC!

Original post begins here:

With Jupiter’s Direct Station becoming exact on Oct 13, 2009 @ 17AQ10, I thought a peek might be of interest, a peek at the first minute/second that the Jolly Giant, that Guru of All Good Things, clocks in as ‘direct’ – in Washington DC @ 12:34:18 am edt, Hour of Mars 28Can15; chart-ruler Moon 13Leo54 (conjunct Pres. Obama’s natal Sun) is in 1st house of the Direct Station of Jupiter chart, and thus rising.

In the chart you can see Jupiter 17AQ10 has just left 8th house and lumbered into 7th house of Partnerships, with US natal Pluto setting (conj Desc.)

Mars opposing natal Pluto isn’t a comforting time (especially when meeting upon the Nodal Axis) yet it occurs approximately every two years or so (sans Nodes most often), thanks to Mars’ orbit in relation to a fixed position – US Pluto of July 4, 1776, 27Cap33 Rx in the ‘Sibly’ chart (5:10 pm LMT, Philadelphia.)

Click the above link to view the Direct Station chart where you’ll see Mars/South Node ascending, opposite US natal Pluto 27Cap33 Rx conjunct transiting NN 26Cap26 – and conjunct US Inaugural Mc 2009 26Cap.

The Pluto/Chiron midpoint appeared at Mc on Inauguration Day (Jan 20, 2009; noon in DC), along with other transiting midpoints of power: Jupiter/Pluto, and Neptune/Pluto, a circumstance ongoing.

This late Capricorn pile-up I have groused about previously – several times here and elsewhere – so I won’t re-bore you repeating myself except to say that government and its backers are very busy consolidating power now. The presidency is where the energy manifests in the larger world.

And Mars in Cancer, ruled by the Moon, is always touchy and busy instigating on the home front.

Jupiter Direct Station degree:

Rounding up to ’18AQ’ we have the ‘End of Progress’ degree, Sabian Symbol: “A Man Unmasked”, yet I’m optimistically using ’17AQ’ because 10 minutes in less than half a degree (30 mins) – I’ll ’round down’…

’17AQ’: “A Watchdog Standing Guard”…PROBITY…

pos: unswerving faithfulness to ideals and a real determination to achieve them;

neg: unfriendly instincts and groundless suspicion.

(From “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology’ by Dr. Marc Edmund Jones.)

This word picture reminds me of Sirius, the Dog Star, who barks/announces that the mundane has become sacred as small actions symbolize the collective and the common yet uplifting rituals in our daily lives.

Tremendous success is possible when Sirius contacts planets in our charts, yet this success may ‘burn’ us. One of Sirius’ nicknames is The Scorcher; ex: US natal Sun ’14Cancer’ conjuncts the zodiacal position of Sirius. Ouch. “I’ve got blistas on ma fingas.”

Is it possible that for America, it’s always been a question of: scorch, or be scorched…?

Be that as it may, be sure to read the comments under the post from a reader, Jed, who gives us a pertinent analysis of the Jupiter Direct Station chart, okay?

Full Moon in Scorpio May 9, 2009

In Washington, DC at 1 minute 22 seconds after Midnight edt, May 9, 2009 will perfect a Scorpio Full Moon 18Sco41 in 10th house.

Since images of charts display more clearly at my Stars Over Washington blog, I’ve placed it and quite a few notes there if you wish to peruse.

May 9’s Sun Taurus-Moon Scorpio blend details have been plopped sassily upon my new blog Two Hours You’ll Never Get Back if you’d like to check it out (sassiness appreciated but not required.)

And what of the Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol? I hear you say rather crossly.

Let’s consider ’19Sco’ and the Sun’s position opposite ’19Tau’ which is the Illumination Point.

Usually I check out the opposite degree, the Illumination Point, to gather unconscious information, but since the Sun is considered conscious and the Moon unconscious, we’ll simply check them both as illuminators of one another, if it’s okay by you.

It’s part of the highlighting a Full Moon is famous for when hidden things, often begun at the previous New Moon and the dark (Balsamic) phase for the 3 days prior, may come to full light.

The following will be a blend of Sabian Symbol interpretations from Marc Edmund Jones and Dane Rudhyar.

Moon ’19Sco’ (MEJ): “A Parrot Listening and Then Talking.’ CONVENTIONALITY.

positive expression: exceptional skill in bring the whole tenor of transient circumstances to the service of a personal aspiration;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: idle mimicry and self-gratifying pretense.

’19Sco’ (DR): ‘A Parrot Repeats the Conversation He Has Overheard.’

Keynote: The capacity to transmit transcendental knowledge.

Sun ’19Tau’ (MEJ): ‘A Newly Formed Continent.’ ORIGINALITY.

pos: a revolutionary potentiality by which each individual is enabled to remodel the entire face of the universe;

neg/unconscious/shadow side: a genius for futile turmoil and persistent upset.

’19Tau’ (DR): ‘A New Continent Rising Out of the Ocean.’

Keynote: The surge of new potentiality after a crisis. SPONTANEITY. #

The DR version above for ’19Tau’ describes reaching ‘a state in which the conscious, rational ego is no longer a controlling factor’ but for me it conjures the power elite’s striving for world domination. Ex: America as Francis Bacon’s ‘New Atlantis’ and Thomas More’s ‘Utopia.’

(Perhaps it’s simply a case of too much Political Astrology on my brain. Tiresome? Yes, I KNOW.)

Considering that the unconscous mind is always stronger than the conscious mind, it sounds to me as if the Scorpio Full Moon is in control here especially since Rudhyar explains the Moon’s ’19Sco’ degree as ‘a hint as to man’s capacity to attune himself to sources of higher wisdom if he can be sufficiently attentive and careful in channeling a “Higher Voice.”

The Symbol’s stress on unintelligent repetition in its word picture ‘is to use only one’s intellect. All birds in symbolism suggest spiritual faculties or forces. What is evoked is the possibility of learning from higher Intelligences.”

Well, to me it seems that higher thoughts and information from On High would improve this troubled world, yet I doubt Mr. Rudhar was speaking of going to see the new Star Trek film for “higher Intelligences.”

Or was he? ;p

Update May 19: just got a much-needed heads-up from Crystal Pomeroy at Daykeeper Journal concerning the lunation of May 9 and its esoteric clues to the current flu pandemic so you may wish to check out Crystal’s clear writing and her thoughts on the subject!

Axis of Sleaze: Washington and Wall Street

Yes, I’m highlighting “axis of sleaze'” from Eric Margolis’ article:

Wall St. Ticks Off the World

By Eric Margolis

Financial crisis, not armed terrorists, greatest threat to U.S. security.

Resist or Become Serfs

By Chris Hedges

America is devolving into a third-world nation. And if we do not immediately halt our elite’s rapacious looting of the public treasurywe will be left with trillions in debts, which can never be repaid, and widespread human misery which we will be helpless to ameliorate. Our anemic democracy will be replaced with a robust national police state.

“Anemic democracy” yes, and we know where to look for the culprits these last few decades – since Day One of ‘the republic’ actually – because nest-featherers tend to flock together…

US natal Jupiter, planet of expansion, largess, and money; *Sabian Symbol ‘6 Cancer’…”Gamebirds Feathering Their Nests.”

The unconscious or shadow side of  ‘6 Cancer’ is ‘6 Capricorn,’ aka the Illumination Point:

“A Dark Archway and Ten Logs at the Bottom”…what the power elite’s greed for money and totalitarian power has meant for America and the world. They aren’t improving on or overturning the Bretton Woods agreement – Bretton Woods was a stepping stone along the current path.

So thanks, Washington and Wall Street for the Crap your plans have made for the rest of us. And as some people would agree – your undermining and ruination of America was done on purpose so please update your TV-ready scripts to reflect the truth for a ‘change’ we can recognize for what it truly is.

Horoscope of the New Millennium 2001

New Millennium, Jan 1, 2001, 12:00 am est, Washington, DC.

With Venus (values; money; relationships) as chart-ruler, the world entered the New Millennium of the 21st century. My usual emphasis is on America and Washington, DC as representative for our nation, so this chart is set to show Washington’s ‘world leadership’ such as it may be as we go forward into this new century.

On a personal level, if you have natal placements within a 2 degree orb of these planets or points, you may find clues within the chart concerning new successes you may gain through development of the talents signified by the aspected planet’s energy as it relates to your nature.

Venus as chart-ruler is posited in the 5th house of Risk-Taking, Gambling, and Creative Pursuits and has only one applying aspect: a square to Jupiter (2Gem10 Rx in 8th house of Shared Resources – 4A59.)

A Venus-Jupiter square indicates deception to gain attention, indulgence and inattention to responsibilities, defensiveness, and exaggerated plans for the future.

Venus-Jupiter from 5th house to 8th house we may infer that this is one of the chart’s indicators of financial greed, taking stupid chances, and fiscal irresponsibility. Venus also rules the 8th house of Debt, Credit, Insurance, and Corporate monies of the Taurean (greedy) kind.

But the closest aspect in the chart is the Mars-Neptune square (0A16), an aspect that echoes the Mars-Neptune square in America’s natal chart (July 4, 1776) so the following relates natally to the US.

With Mars SQ Neptune, it’s difficult to be assertive without causing turmoil. There is fluctuation between intense desire for action (Mars) and complete apathy (Neptune.) When things go badly there’s a tendency to blame others in order to deflect criticism; a proneness toward lowering relationship standards attracts negativity; plans toward control of others should leave nothing to chance.

With this difficult square of energies, it’s hard to accept the reality of our own motives or to even ‘see’ them – disappointments cause bitterness and resentment but others are not the to blame…the fault is in ourselves and our confused motivations which cause others to mistrust us.

Mars-Neptune (with deceptive, dissolving Neptune in 4th house of Home) shows the mortgage and housing crises ongoing with Mars (loan officers making mega-bucks off unstable mortgages and the bosses who encouraged them.)

As you see, Venus 27AQ12 is conjunct US natal Moon (the people) which indicates an amiable and sociable time (New Millennnium celebrations galore!), yet we know the 21st century has brought many difficult events and circumstances into everyone’s lives (except for the select few who pull the strings and live high on the hog.)

Negatively (as it turns out), the Venus-to-Moon transit does indicate a tendency to rely on intuition and inspiration rather than on the cold, hard facts.

Around the chart I have added natal positions from the US chart but with an exception – I neglected to add US natal Mercury Rx ’25Can’ a degree whose SabianSymbol fascinates me…”A Man Wrapped in an Invisible Mantle of Power” which I tend to  believe relates to our secret or shadow government and to America’s Great Seal which some think was brought to us by Illuminati founder Adam Weishaupt with its obverse ‘All-Seeing Eye’ of surveillance.

In any case, US natal Mercury is the very visible 10th house of Public Standing/Career in the New Millennium. Perhaps our nation’s much-touted ‘Manifest Destiny’ is leading the way through natal Mercury’s influence – and the satellites surveilling us all as I type.

North Node 15Can31 is in 10th house as well opposite the New Millennium’s Mercury 14Cap367 conjunct South Node showing humanity’s already developed mental abilities ready to be directed into the 10th house of the Wider World.

Mercury conj SN = ideas either ahead or behind the times and one may have difficulty gaining support for them. Positively, it shows much originality of thought. Yet feeling mentally alone is a pitfall of the new era, a problem which many people experience as we pseudo-connect online in an attempt to offset the loneliness of modern life.

Venus square Saturn supports alienation and relating difficulties.

Sun in Capricorn likes to manage and be in charge…Sun = adult personality, Capricorn = the father archetype. Perhaps a father complex is closer to the truth. This Sun makes no applying aspects which strengthens its sign and house position with Domestic Concerns (4th house) of our ‘Ownership Society’ (as George Bush put it) being highlighted (Sun) along with 4/10 Security Issues and Secret (Ic) Control (Capricorn.)

Money sign Taurus on the 8th cusp opposite Mars 5Sco03 in 2nd house (and Scorpio’s traditional ruler)  indicates motivation toward financial activities with societal planets Jupiter 2Gem10 Rx and Saturn 24Tau35 Rx (8thhouse)  fairly fresh from their Great Conjunction of May 28, 2000 (’23Tau’ = “A Jewelry Shop Filled with the Most Magificent Gems”) and affecting 8th house money matters particularly by way of our political parties (Jup = Rs; Sat = Ds. The 20-year cycle of Jupiter-Saturn relates to money and stock market cycles, as you know. Their clock ‘started over’ on May 28, 2000.)

Jupiter and Saturn are the only planets above the horizon and in 8thhouse, they show that corporations will continue to exist but with restructuring transformations.

And now that Pluto has moved into Capricorn, sign of Saturnian structures, this has become imperative. (Breaking up giant monopolies would be okay by me – and we’ve been down this anti-social path before…how soon we forget!)

Asteroid Persephone (‘transition’) conjuncts Midheaven(Aspirations) opposite Icarus (‘risk-taking; flight; assassination’) at Ic, the Foundation or Drain of the chart.

This may be one picture of the attacks of 9.11.01 against US authority and financial businesses (Cancer), and/or with the aspiration of transitioning our nation into what it’s become under the Bush-Cheney administration.  (As mentioned, Pluto was conjunct US natal Ascendant on 9.11.01 = permanent transformation, a long time coming due to Pluto’s slow-pokiness.)

Neptune 5AQ20 is conjunct US natal SN, a conjunction indicating America’s lack of popularity through being out of tune with the environment.

Mercury conj SN plays into this unpopularity along with the Venus-Saturn square which is separating, therefore unconscious. (Not that America is the only one – we just brag a lot, overcompensate, and project…looking-for-enemies-r-us.)

(And with Mercury out-of-bounds, I suspect the original, futuristic ideas come from we know not where but from people not within our usual orbits.)

Intrigue and unfortunate circumstances cause pilfering of things we’ve worked hard on for a long time with Neptune-SN, but working out spiritual purposes under very difficult conditions is the cloud-with-eventual-silver-lining flavor of this conjunction. This makes right actions and upright motives ‘musts’ for true success (oops!)

As you see, I’ve marked the Sabian Symbol for Mars – ‘6Sco’ = ” A Gold Rush.” Speaks for itself, don’t you think? Scorpio is the sign of stocks, bonds, and big business. And if I had typed this pre-2008, few might have agreed with me on the many money issues found in this chart!

So there in 3rd house of Communications we find Pluto 13Sag47 (conj US natal ASC as the ‘old dragon guarding the riches’ was on 9.11.01) and Chiron 22Sag33. They’re fresh from their Great Conj of Dec 30, 1999  (conj US n ASC at ’12Sag’ = “A Flag That Turns into an Eagle That Crows”) and together this pair of energies signify oppression, corporatism, racism, women’s suffrage, disenfranchisement, primal violence, fascism, andother -isms which only the ‘power elite’ seem to be fond of because they suit and promote their totalitarian purposes of control.

I’ve notated on the chart, Pluto-Chiron’s parallel of mid-August 2004. Planets in parallel act much like a strong conjunction and it’s one of Astrology’s useful timing devices. And since they are placed in 3rd house, I believe propaganda is a major part of the “crowing” of ’12Sag.’

Moon 21Pis14 in 6th house of Work, Service, and Health shows a populace in need of Piscean things such as spiritual standards, compassionate giving, and being our brother’s keeper. The Golden Rule never goes out of style, just out of our hearts – and humanity can only benefit from putting it back.

The previously mentioned Mars-Neptune SQ is a clue toward these spiritual needs since Neptune is associated with the sign of Pisces (personally I use Jupiter as its ruler, and Neptune as a higher octave influence.)

Fluctuations (Moon) in work environments and jobs are indicated here, too, and with confusing conditions including dissolution (Pisces-Neptune.) Changes in healthcare – or the sacrifice of it – are reflected as well.

I have yet to mention the ‘erratic and indulgent with money’ wide conjunction of Venus and Uranus in 5th house of Risk-Taking. Guess everyone knows where that energy has gone so far.

Yet new and original works of Art are positive 5th house manifestations here with the possibility of becoming famous (Moon) in America (Venus conj US n Moon.)

Well, of course, there’s more to be read in this chart, but I’m going to mosey for now and add to this post if and when I am so inspired. The midpoint pictures from this chart will be published momentarily at Stars Over Washington so that I can publish a shout-out there to this chart….SO’W’s feed is in the sidebar column to your left.

Update 6:52 pm edt: details on the New Millennium’s Prenatal Eclipse Series (including the karmic implications of an Eclipse in Capricorn) have been added to my SO’W post, along with the Sun Cap-Moon Pisc blend info.)

So let’s dialogue! Your comments and observations on-point are most welcome (but will be moderated, so spammers don’t bother. Shoo.)

Plus, I am especially interested in your views and interpretations on current transits to this chart, so if possible, please advise!

Obama-McCain debate: high road vs low

If you reduce tonight’s presidential debate to high road vs low road, Senator Obama’s unruffled demeanor looked calm and collected as usual next to McCain’s huffing and puffing.

Looking petty was a danger for Mr. McCain and he lived down to the expectation.

My previous post must stand astrologically and the timing I used is quite close to reality – the show came on at 9:00 pm edt and the candidates began just after Bob Shieffer’s intro and they ended at 10:31 pm edt.

August 16’s (market paranoia) Lunar Eclipse began the evening at Midheaven 24AQ06, and progressive Uranus 19Pis27 Rx ended the debate near Midheaven 17Pis45. Interesting that the Sabian Symbol for ’18Pis’ is: “In A Huge Tent A Famous Revivalist Conducts His Meeting With A Spectacular Performance.”

Well, the spectacular part may be Barack Obama’s resisting the opportunity given him by the moderator to ‘go after’ Sarah Palin with the question about running mates and their qualifications. McCain, however, had some criticisms for Joe Biden, but that’s typical for those-who-run-behind.

One critique was that Biden voted against the first Gulf War. Perhaps voting against any war wouldn’t suit John McCain, but why the vote was supposedly a bad idea he didn’t say other than a mention of protecting the oil supply.

Well, yes. There is that. War to protect oil…hmmm…we export war, they export oil…yes, it Could work.

McCain also said that Biden “voted wrong” on some national security issues but it was more of a throw-away mumble so I’ll have to watch again and see if I can pick up what he meant.

And I’ll be searching the chart for Joe the Plumber who kept showing up and they had quite a tiff over whether Joe’s taxes are going up or not for when he buys the business he’s been working in for years. I’m not sure who cares the most about Joe’s situation based on this debate – but is Joe represented by Pluto, who rules pipes and tunnels? If so, he set during the debate from 7th house into 6th.

Obama’s conversation with Joe at, I assume, a campaign stop, was that “5 years ago, when you were in a position to buy the business, you needed a tax break then.” But McCain seems to think Joe’s current problems are Barack Obama’s fault now. It’s all a horrid nightmare but I’m fairly certain that it was Bush who was playing president 5 years ago.

Ben Stein is on ‘Tavis Smiley’ now saying that Obama’s long-term plans (for the economy) are excellent but that he didn’t have a short-term plan. Until the dust settles, I’m not sure who could.

Stein is “puzzled” that Obama didn’t repudiate John Lewis’ unfortunate remarks in a more forceful way.

Tavis is saying that the spin will be that McCain was whining about his feelings being hurt (by being ‘compared’ to George Wallis by Lewis, which I’m not sure is precisely what Lewis said.)

He was whining, and as Obama said, the American people don’t care in this campaign if our feelings get hurt (paraphrased.) Now the Irish side of my family would call it whinging, know what I mean? Obama didn’t repudiate John Lewis (that would be daft) but he conceded the inappropriateness of Lewis’ remarks.

So altogether, McCain scored a few points but seemed to flail and whinge in a petty way, Obama was calm yet he did get annoyed about the ACORN accusations.

And, as stated in a post below, (at 10:31 pm actually – I pre-used 10:30 pm), Uranus ended at Midheaven with Saturn at Ic – but Uranus remained in 10th house of Career and Public Standing, while Saturn left the building by way of The Drain (Ic) – and I’m not sure if Joe the Plumber can help stop the leak.

Now If I can just figure out which candidate is Uranus and which is Saturn I might be on to something. Okay, so I think I know, but what do you think?

“There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings.” Teaching children values and giving them the opportunity to excel is essential to good parenting. However, I feel I must also provide my children (and myself) insight into the ones who came before us: our ancestors whose lives and stories have shaped us into who we are. This is my journey; these are their stories…
