New Moon December 7, 2018

DC Horoscope: New Moon @15Sag07 December 7, 2018 2:20:15 am est White House Washington DC; Hour of the Moon (fluctuations; changes) with Venus in Scorpio rising in 1st house and leading a BOWL shape of the planets, emphasizing the lower hemisphere, and denoting signs Taurus through Libra as representing “challenges to existence” (The Guide to Horoscope Interpretation, M. E. Jones).

Taurus through Libra includes several of Mr. Trump’s natal planets, plus his natal Midheaven with nasty Algol conjoining @24Taurus. Gemini, of course, includes Trump’s natal Uranus-NN-Sun trio; Cancer includes his nibs’ Venus-Saturn conjunction, Leo includes his natal Mars and Ascendant (conjunct royal Regulus), and Libra brings in his problematic Neptune-Chiron-Jupiter trio of fantasy, schemes, and speculation (see chart, upper right–this trio is rising along with America’s natal Saturn @14Lib48, followed symbolically by US SP Mars Rx @18Libra (SP = Secondary Progressed–our Mars regressed and turned inward against ourselves since 2006).

This difficult, weakening condition for US Mars the warrior lasts until 2086 and tragically describes unlawful shootings by police against citizens, the ongoing crises of students vs students, parents vs children and vice versa, citizens arming up, death cults, and other violent events on US soil. That transit Neptune now floats through its own sign of murky Pisces only confuses issues, masks fraud and deception, and engenders contagions of fear and paranoia in the population.

New Moons Seed and Begin a New Cycle of Activity

As for December 2018’s double Fire Sun Sag-Moon Sag combination of conscious-unconscious energies, it’s the ‘comedian-preacher’ blend suggesting optimism, questing minds, and faith in the future as befits sign ruler Jupiter. Insincerity, cruelty, and corruption are unbearable for Sun Sag-Moon Sag folk who are full of good advice and need ‘fun’ and adventure within their relationships. And if memory serves, comedian Jon Stewart was born under it! Also born with this personality blend: Ludwig van Beethoven and philosopher-physicist Max Born. Here are two quotes, one from each:

“Give happiness and joy to many other people. There is nothing better or greater than that.” – Beethoven.

“Intellect distinguishes between the possible and the impossible.” – Max Born.

Aug 6 2013 New Moon: Sun Leo-Moon Leo

“Was this then how youth, how life should truly be? No endless poring over books and dusty manuscripts, but acting out the glory of the word made flesh? Such tenderness! Such breathless apprehension of the mystery in things! And afterwards, such peace!”

Lindsay Clarke, The Chymical Wedding (1989)

Sun-ruled Leo, sign of fire and romance, spoons our plates with a double helping today: a Leo New Moon perfecting at 5:51 pm edt after which the Moon becomes void-of-course until the evening of August 7th (Ramadan ends).

A Sun Leo-Moon Leo blend is magnetic, demonstrative, and visionary with a single-minded view and a flair for showing its best side though it can be moody at times. The quote above from The Chymical Wedding is chosen because Leo-Leo is the natal personality blend of author Lindsay Clarke.

Vanity and passion combine along with a self-centered streak and a tendency toward throwing temper tantrums, all of which may describe the personalities of the book’s main characters as well as its author!

Here are the ‘Images for Integration’ for the Sun Leo-Moon Leo blend from Charles & Suzi Harvey’s Sun Sign-Moon Sign (the Images may remind you of a certain prince recently born–and rather curiously, this Sun-Moon blend is shared natally by British actress Barbara Windsor):

“A child in an Edenic paradise builds a beautiful sandcastle in the sunshine with all the creatures of nature in joyous attendance…In full pageantry, the new king is crowned before his kingdom.”

Wishing everyone a joyous and safe New Moon of new beginnings!

June 8 2013 New Moon in Gemini: “A Large Archaic Volume”

If you use the Sabian Symbols much you probably recognize the one for Saturday June 8, 2013’s New Moon @18Gem01–“A Large Archaic Volume”–using the ’rounding up’ method which gives us’19Gemini’.

Sun Gem-Moon Gem is a double Air blend of intellect, reasonableness, and debate and watching Washington DC politics as I regularly do, I’m wondering when or if the ‘reasonableness’ will be apparent any time soon. Quick communications (ex: texting) and a talent for Mercurial mimicry are evident with this combination of energies so a lot of talking is on the weekend’s list of activities.

This personality blend is shared natally by an interesting cast of characters including famous thespian John Barrymore (“One of my chief regrets during my years in the theater is that I couldn’t sit in the audience and watch me.”) Well, yes. Self-absorb much? Still, I always thought his lion-esque appearance, imperious voice, and royal manner were perfect on the stage.

Double Gemini writer Dorothy Sayers had her time in the sun as well and how perfect in our day of spying on people’s private lives is this, one of her more famous verses?

“As I grow older and older

And totter towards the tomb

I find that I care less and less

Who goes to bed with whom.”

Too bad Washington’s political operatives can’t take such a sentiment to heart! Yet how would DC survive without blackmail?

But the double Gemini fellow whose famous quote I wish most to add here is that of economist John Maynard Keynes for it is my belief that his words lightly touch upon the more-visible-than-ever agenda of those who would rule the entire world if or as soon as they can manage it:

“Ideas shape the course of history.”

Well, yes. Yes, they do. It’s all in the planning, another function of Mercury. I only wish the ruling elite, both public and hidden, would have them some better ideas than what they’re attempting to forcefully implement from their large archaic volume.

Don’t you?

Well, I knew about today’s New Moon in Pisces, of course, but how cosmic and cool is this?

Check out a few astro-details I’ve posted concerning today’s New Moon @ 3Pis42, exact at 5:34 pm est with Regulus Rising in Washington DC. As you know, Regulus is one of the Royal Stars of Persia with one major caution: success if revenge is avoided–too bad over-reaching Washington and the Pentagon seldom if ever take such good advice.

Julie Demboski on Sept 8’s Virgo New Moon

Virgo New Moon Sept 8, 2010 echoes LBJ

How can the Virgo New Moon of September 8, 2010 ‘echo’ President Lyndon B. Johnson? you might ask. Well, read on and I’ll tell ya.

LBJ was born with Sun and Moon in Virgo which is obviously the Sun-Moon blend of the ‘Rosh Hashanah New Moon’ this Sept 8th, the beginning of a new cycle of activity for the month.

Born in Johnson City, Texas on August 27, 1908 at 5:00 am (rating A: from memory), Mr. Johnson had a plethora of Virgo in his natal chart, all in 1st house of The Self: Mars, Sun, Moon, and Mercury, from 2 – 11 degrees of Virgo.

He was born within the 19 North Solar Eclipse Series with its ‘realism; a coming down to earth; becoming aware of an old situation and seeing it for what it is rather than what one thought it was; the eclipse brings a constructive time for tackling the truth.” (Paraphrasing Brady’s Predictive Astrology.)

‘Coming down to earth’ must make a very loud thud with so much earthy Virgo in you.

Interesting that NPR just today aired another part of their feature on the rescue of the South Vietnamese Navy by the USS Kirk which was sent back to Vietnam for them after US troops were evacuated from Saigon. Our country’s anti-war protests kept LBJ up at night and led to his refusal to seek another term – along with the horror of the killing fields, one assumes.

Though I was a whippersnapper when LBJ was walking the White House halls, I remember his famous announcement not to run or serve again and my feeling of relief over it (but little did I know what and who were coming on the scene.)

So what about Sun Virgo-Moon Virgo? The Sept 8 New Moon has a similar vibe as LBJ’s so should we investigate this double Earth, pragmatic combo?

First off, Sun Virgo-Moon Virgo identifies with work. Concerned and conscientious, this personality blend possesses excellent analytical skill, precision, and a desire to synthesize knowledge and use it in practical ways.

Attention to detail gives a major perfectionist streak to the personality which (unless corrupted by power or other forces) is the soul of honesty and kindness – a bit shy, actually. Here is both a thinker and a doer who doesn’t like interference when engaged in an important task.

‘Actions speak louder than words’ and ‘practical idealism’ are phrases that well describe this blend while a tendency toward allowing self-doubt and self-criticism to undermine self-confidence makes being in charge of large enterprises difficult.

Why, you may even give up the presidency of the United States over an ill-advised and difficult war!

‘Image for Integration: A well-oiled printing machine hums away, producing perfectly bound copies of The Layman’s Guide to Essential Nutrients.

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, by Charles & Suzi Harvey.)

Virgo is the sign of Health and Diet, as you know, and is an integral part of America’s natal chart with Neptune 22Vir25 and Fixed Star, Spica (‘potential for brilliance’) prominent.

Plus, Virgo is associated with the archetype of Ceres, a nurturing feminine symbol usually shown holding sheafs of grain in her hands apparently plucked from our ‘amber waves of grain’.

(Plus, there’s “Give us your tired, your poor,” etc which implies ‘we’ll give ’em jobs and feed ’em, too’…then, but no longer.)

So did you know this earthy combo is shared natally by actor David McCallum and author Count Leo Tolstoy? Neither did I. Now here is a quote from President Johnson which sounds just like him according to his Sun Virgo-Moon Virgo traits:

“I strive for the best and do the possible.”

Spoken like a quadruple Virgo with dedicated Vesta in Virgo, too!

New Moon 23Tau09 May 13, 2010

Yes, a brief family vacation in Raleigh NC was wonderful and relaxing yet it’s good to be back and blogging on Politics through the lens of Astrology!

And since I tend to spontaneously compose at keyboard, this post is a brief heads-up to the New Moon chart with details now freshly published at Stars Over Washington, if you’re game.

Plain English is used so if you don’t speak astrologese, don’t fret, just click!

Yet one thing I neglected to mention in the post is the Sabian Symbol of the New Moon’s Midheaven (chart is set for Washington DC, edt); Mc is the Aspirations/Goal Point of any horoscope. This may be of interest to you especially if you happen to be in California or have connections there, so I shall add it here for your consideration, quoting from Dane Rudhyar’s ‘An Astrological Mandala’:

Mc ’20Virgo’ = “A Caravan of Cars Headed to the West Coast”…

Keynote: The need of cooperative effort in reaching any “New World” of experience.

…what seems to be clearly implied is a process in which a group of persons are journeying together–thus linking their consciousnesses and energies (the ‘car’ symbol)–in order to safely reach the goal of destiny. Here there is no longer any sense of competition, but an ofered and structured endeavor.

…the past is entirely left behind; men cooperate in the great ‘adventure in consciousness’ in a TOTALIZATION OF PURPOSE AND EFFORT.

Will the New Moon of May 13, 2010 mark a new phase of political activity and cooperation as it effects the establishment of a one-world-government, aka a ‘New World Order’?

Well, if we begin to hear of Democrats and Republicans entering a new phase of cooperation to ‘get things done’, I for one will be feeling that their masks are finally being dropped in public and the them-against-us reality of Politics is being outed because they assume they’re about to successfully implement such totalitarian plans over all opposition from we-the-people.

Or, perhaps May 13 will simply bring us a New Moon in Taurus!

The above-linked post contains basic details on the culminating Full Moon in Sagittarius, May 27, 2010, along with info on a Mutable T-Square between Jupiter/Saturn pointing to apex Venus in Gemini in the May 13 New Moon chart.

An art-ful Friday and a New Moon Saturday

With a snow storm said to be on the way for Georgia (our turn) I thought a little Art for Friday would be good – something with a Crescent Moon since we’re in the Balsamic or dark phase of the Moon now. So here is ‘Blue Trumpet Flower Under Crescent Moon’ for you (because drawing the dark of the Moon would be futile, wouldn’t it?)

New Moon 25AQ18 Feb 13, 2010 Saturday @ 9:51 pm est; with the various versions of America’s natal chart our natal Moon (the people; the public) ranges from 18AQ to late AQ so we may say that this New Moon is personalized for the American people (or for whomever may have this Lunar position in their charts.)

Sabian Symbol ’26AQ’ = “A Hydrometer”…Keyword: EFFICIENCY.

positive expression: exceptional ability in manipulating the fundamental complexities of living;

negative/unconscious/shadow side: self-defeating worry over trifles.

(‘The Sabian Symbols in Astrology’ by Marc Edmund Jones.)

Yes, it is self-defeating to worry over what are or may be, mere trifles.

Jones goes on to explain that this degree is about ‘capitalizing on any difficulties that arise’ and that is my wish for you, lone reader, at the beginning of a new cycle of activity at this, a New Moon in Aquarius. For after all, the New Moon’s Illumination Point (an unconscious point opposite each degree) has for its Keyword: “A RAINBOW”!

New Moon 24Sag39 on Dec 16, 2009

In this blog’s sidebar you’ll find a feed to Julie Demboski’s excellent blog with her insightful details on the New Moon of Dec, 2009 @ 24Sag39.

The Sabian Symbol for this new cycle of activity, which Julie terms a Fantasy New Moon (oooh!) is for ’25Sag’…”A Chubby Boy on a Hobby Horse” which Marc Edmund Jones gives as EMULATION.

Positive expression: an indomitable determination to give the lesser potentialities of existence a more effective dimension;

Negative/Unconscious/Shadow Side: idle self-indulgence and ingenuous claims of merit.

Got hobbies? Perhaps you may begin a new cycle of activity where you showcase them! And with December holidays coming up perhaps we’ll be inspired to play and have fun before the Blue Moon Eclipse of Dec 31 ends our year.

News reports say that sales are up for retailers so that’s good for the economy and for your Aunt Granny Fanny who’s pining for a gift from you that doesn’t involve checkered socks! (Surely you can do better than that.)

The New Moon’s Sun Sag/Moon Sag combo of Fire-Fire energies is an interesting blend for its optimism and faith in the future. The essential benevolence of life found in this blend is perfect for the celebration of our Savior’s birth (if you believe that way, as I do.)

Sun Sag/Moon Sag is a blend shared natally by Max Born, Joan Didion, Randy Newman, and Ludwig von Beethoven, composer of ‘Ode to Joy’ who said:

“Give happiness and joy to many other people. There is nothing better or greater than that.”

I’m guessing Beethoven’s music does that even when his personality didn’t.

Happy Holiday New Moon!

New Moon Monday: Nov 16, 2009 @2:13 pm est

Since the feed for Stars Over Washington was added quite a while ago to the sidebar of this blog, I seldom post ‘shout-outs’ any more to what I publish there in the Political/Mundane Astrology department.

But tomorrow afternoon, Nov 16, 2009, there’s a new cycle of activity beginning with a Scorpio New Moon @ 24Sco34, if you’d care to snag yourself a peek.

As you know, the sign of Scorpio has to do with things such as: surgeries and regeneration, other precision activities, spying and surveillance, betrayals, and our deepest passions – hidden and otherwise.

Why, just the Sun Sco-Moon Sco info alone may be worth your click!
