We have a New Moon on the second day of the new year! The New Moon at 12° 20’ Capricorn on 2 January 2022, 10:34 AM PST has a freshness to it as well as a stronger sense of marking new beginnings than the New Moons of recent months. This is a nice change and a great way to start the new year.

Cardinal signs are the self starters of the zodiac and Capricorn wields that energy in an intensely practical manner. On this New Moon, the Capricorn luminaries are trine Uranus in Taurus and semi-sextile Saturn in Aquarius. The connection to Saturn in Aquarius reinforces Saturn ruled Capricorn’s natural tendency to undertake important projects in an orderly fashion and persist until those are complete, no matter how long it takes.
