The Moon’s Nodes, Pluto, Fate and the UK’s Brexit….

Astrology answers from Anne Whitaker!

Astrology: Questions and Answers

I have been having an interesting exchange on Facebook today, having Shared thislink, a Brexit post-mortem in which, in an open memo to the outgoing British Prime Minister David Cameron, former Canadian High Commissioner to the UK, Jeremy Kinsman, describes in detail just how badly the Remain campaign failed. My introductory comment was “This does not miss, at all!”

The link and my comment elicited quite a few interesting and well-informed responses. Astrologer Tony Dickey , ably illustrating the old cliche that a picture is worth a thousand words, had this to say in reply: Neither does this”. The picture below, in astrological terms, posted by Tony, certainly says it all:

My response to the above bi-wheel chart, in which David Cameron’s horoscope at the centre is overlaid with the Brexit announcement’s chart on…

CEOs, Politics, and Other People’s Money

Citizens United, Justice Kennedy, and Politics:

The Baseline Scenario

By James Kwak

I am, on paper, a corporate law professor, because—well, I guess because I used to work for a corporation (two, actually), and the books I write sometimes have corporations in them, and I teach business organizations as part of my day job. (Secret for those looking for a job as a law professor: UConn was looking for someone to teach corporate law, and I wanted the job, so that’s what I said I could do.) But I’ve made it this far writing exactly one corporate law paper (my summary here), and that was actually about corporate political activity—namely, whether and how shareholders can challenge political contributions that they think are not in the corporation’s interests.

It is well known by now that, in Citizens United, Justice Kennedy committed one of the true howlers of recent Supreme Court history:

With the advent of the Internet, prompt disclosure…

A Short Analysis of Emily Bronte’s ‘No Coward Soul Is Mine’

Emily Bronte’s natal data is only rated C for ‘accuracy in question’ (born July 30, 1818 2:49 pm LMT Thornton, UK) but a quick look makes her chart seem plausible. Currently transit Mars adorns and activates her natal Ascendant (the lady herself) while the transit Jupiter-North Node plays around her Virgo Midheaven (Career Point). Check out her chart if you wish: http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Bronte,_Emily along w/ this excellent post:

Interesting Literature

A summary of a classic poem

When Poems of Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell was published in 1846, it initially sold just two copies. The authors of the poems, better known as Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë, had published the volume in the hope of raising some much-needed cash, but it was not to be. Copies were sent to established poets, including William Wordsworth, but none of them wrote back to the then unknown Brontë siblings. Included in the volume was the following poem by Emily Brontë (1818-1848), best known for her novel Wuthering Heights but also a gifted poet. ‘No Coward Soul Is Mine’ wonderfully showcases Emily’s dauntless and elemental spirit, as the following brief analysis is designed to show.

No Coward Soul Is Mine

No coward soul is mine,
No trembler in the world’s storm-troubled sphere:
I see Heaven’s glories shine,
And faith shines equal, arming me…
