“But NOTHING happened!” Why Big Transits Can Sometimes be a Bust

Sky Writer

© 3-28-2015 by Donna Cunningham, MSW

A longtime Skywriter reader wrote to ask a question that had been bothering her for quite a while. She said that despite predictions of big changes in her life, major transits had often produced little or no effect in the way of happenings. I understood what she was saying about big transits and nothing happening. I have observed such things with myself  and others, too–clients and friends or loved ones.

When I examined their lives more closely, it became clearer that the long outer planet transit correlated with internal changes that moved them. Eventually and only gradually, under internal and/or external pressure, did they take action to change their approach to life and to significant others. It’s often something like a realization that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

The Intensity of Mickey Mouse

The Wikipedia page and bio for Walt Disney’s most famous cartoon character Mickey Mouse reveals that his public debut in film short Steamboat Willy occurred on November 18, 1928 in New York City.

Wondering what makes Mickey tick, I set up a horoscope for this date and place though an exact hour of the first showing remains a mystery. Steamboat Willy played prior to the main feature and ran for two weeks, netting Disney $500 per week. Quite a sum in 1928 and launching a lucrative career in cartoon animation.

On November 18, 1928, the Moon remained in Aquarius (natal sign of America’s Moon–July 4, 1776) and of course the Sun was in intense Scorpio, ruled by Mars and sub-ruled by Pluto. I contend that the Sun sign relates to Mickey’s creator, Walt Disney, who was not the jolly artist we kids saw on TV but a dark, driven, and profane man.

In fact, the debut of Mickey Mouse had a Pre-Natal Solar Eclipse in the 2 South Saros Series with themes of ‘joining unusual groups through which a great deal is gained’ (Brady) and given the ability of secret societies to provide aid to their members’ careers, this may be what catapulted Steamboat Willy into such a plum position. Success in New York was on Disney’s schedule for you know what the song says, “If you can make it there you can make it anywhere.”

Not that Mr. Disney wasn’t born ready for fame and fortune! His birth date of December 5, 1901 shows that he entered the earthly plane during a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction period in work-loving Capricorn so he had the determination to work toward the achievement promised by the societal planets, Jupiter and Saturn. His Sun in Sagittarius and Moon in Libra are Jupiter and Venus ruled, two of the money planets.

Interestingly, Walt Disney’s natal Moon will be eclipsed on April 4, 2015 by a Lunar Eclipse and of course the Moon’s realm includes publicity and public contact–though eclipses are considered ‘wild cards’ and may dredge up secrets and spotlight scandals. His Sun Sag-Moon Libra combination of Fire and Air denotes optimism, great and fiery communication skills, a dramatic streak, and a chivalrous, prophetic character.

Natal Neptune at 00 Cancer is on one of the four Cardinal Points of fame, fortune, recognition, and prominence and of course Neptune’s realms include illusion, art, images, photography, and the silver screen.

The intensity of Scorpio is seen in Walt Disney’s natal Mercury (28 Scorpio) with Mercury the planet of thinking processes, communication, and commerce–so Disney’s natal Mercury conjoins Mickey Mouse’s natal Sun identifying Mickey as Walt’s ‘brainchild’.

As for Mickey, his Sun Sco-Moon AQ identifies him as an ‘impenetrable enigma’ yet a ‘wide-eyed and open-armed friend of the people’ (Harvey.) This blend denotes a capacity for the regeneration (Sco) of social structures (AQ), and one who sees what needs to be done and simply does it.

An observer of life, Mickey’s intent on relieving the suffering of others through his humorous antics in that comedy-tragedy way of traditional thespianism. The Sco-AQ combo of energies gives him a magnetic quality which continues to attract children to the present day.

Hot Dog! Mickey insists on finding the truth which he does regularly on his current TV show, The Micky Mouse Clubhouse–which you already know if you watch it with a 3-year old as I do–treasure hunts and all!

The character Mickey Mouse shares his natal Sun Sco-Moon AQ personality blend with the illustrious Voltaire, Albert Camus, Dylan Thomas, economist Jean Monnet (architect of the European Community), and the modern ‘new world order’ as timed by the third of three conjunctions of Enlightenment planets, Uranus and Neptune on October 24, 1993 at 18 Capricorn…”POLITICAL POWER”.

Yes, the field of Entertainment is one of the most successful diversions for distracting the public from real issues while power elite architects set up their Utopian ‘new world order’!

Astro-Notes on Toulouse-Lautrec

Thanks to one of his favorite drinking clubs, the Moulin Rouge, the noble-born Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec found fame and renown through his posters featuring dancers, Paris’ ladies of the evening, and the gentlemen who were attracted to them. Here is one example of his work:

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec 036

Painting by Toulouse-Lautrec; PD image

Born at Chateau du Bosc at Albi, France, Toulouse-Lautrec was the son of two first cousins and was unfortunate enough to be afflicted with dwarfism. Besides his short stature, extreme near-sightedness, drooling, and a lisp added to his misery as other people found his appearance distinctly unappealing. Eventually the social outcast discovered his drawing talent while recovering from a broken leg (fragile bones) at his childhood home, the castle of du Bosc.

The astrology of his birth tells an interesting tale with his genius (Uranus in Gemini) in a beneficial trine (120 degrees) with Saturn, planet of realism, form, and structure (canvasses).

If you wish, view a brief bio and his natal horoscope here.

You’ll find his Sun in early Sagittarius, sign of the Seeker, and natal Moon in Venus-ruled Libra, a sign of art, beauty, and social activities. Rising at his 6:00 am birth (LMT) on November 24, 1864 is Scorpio, a sign associated with health issues.

As for his personality, a Fire-Air Sun Sag-Moon Libra blend denotes one with an optimistic streak (Sagittarius ruled by jolly Jupiter), a social conscience, and a liking for entertainment. We see a combination of the underdog, the innocent child, and the eccentric artist within this blend.

Admiration is a requirement of this blend so that his recognition in the art world of Paris must have given him on a deep level some measure of satisfaction. Passionate and idealistic, Toulouse-Lautrec wanted to “share the grand journey” of life with someone yet we feel his disappointment in the romance department. Painting Can-Can dancers on stage or women bathing had to suffice with perhaps a bit of lovemaking tossed in–out of what?….pity?

Taking care of everyday responsibilities was not Henri’s strong suit with this personality blend and of course the heavy drinking made that conveniently impossible. Reliance upon luck would have been a tendency along with gullibility, a quick wit, and an over-expansive style. Night clubs such as the racy Moulin Rouge were the perfect environment for his ‘live wire’ Fire-Air personality with its abundance of ideas and love of fast pace living.

Now for his Sun Sag-Moon Libra Images for Integration brought to us by Charles and Suzi Harvey’s Sun Sign-Moon Sign:

“Amidst a whirl of gaiety, a writer sits in a coffee house taking notes, and a painter paints…The Dead Poets Society.”

A few famous folk who were also born under the influence of a Sun Sag-Moon Libra blend include: Jonathan Swift, Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, Saki, Maria Callas, Betty Grable, Walt Disney, David Carradine, and Werner Heisenberg.

As you see, all but the last are in the entertainment or writing fields unless you consider physics to be an entertainment. My thought is that Toulouse-Lautrec possessed the ability to see beneath surfaces which informed his portrayals of human anatomy!

Sheldon Adelson: The Plutocrat’s Plutocrat

A great analysis:

The Oligarch Kings

Sheldon Adelson: The Plutocrat’s Plutocrat

David Macadam

American elections have always been hugely and increasingly expensive, each one setting fresh records. Now even these obscene sums pale into obscurity in the face of a true game-changer; the SuperPAC. These groups are legally sanctioned by two cases in 2010, Citizens United v Federal Election Commission and Speechnow.org v FEC. These decisions bizarrely held that cash equals free speech and corporations are people, therefore the 1st amendment freedom of speech protects unlimited non-disclosed contributions.

Since then, the floodgates have opened and unimaginable funds are flowing into American politics largely through SuperPAC’s, which can be funded by individuals, corporations, unions, and ‘groups’ who tend to be collections of like minded billionaires. There is no legal limit on the size of the donation.

While this has given a green…
