Russian Mars probe re-entry on Jan 15-16, 2012
Scan the Skies!
Y’all keep looking up on January 15 and 16, okay?

MARS PROBE PHOTOGRAPHED: Phobos-Grunt, a Russian Mars probe stuck in Earth orbit since November, is sinking back into the atmosphere. Best estimates suggest re-entry will occur on Jan. 15th or 16th. Meanwhile, citizen scientists can see the probe moving through the night sky sometimes shining as brightly as a first-magnitude star.
French astrophotographer Thierry Legault recently photographed Phobos-Grunt through a 14-inch telescope, revealing its outlines and perhaps a clue as to why the probe has had difficulty communicating with Earth.
His images and video are highlighted on today’s edition of SpaceWeather News.
Astro-Note: well, yes, I know that the words and description of “Phobos-Grunt, the Mars probe” “re-entering” Earth’s atmosphere is astrologically replete (‘pregnant’?) with vast amounts of testosterone-laden symbology but considering that the glyph for Mars is a circle sporting a ‘sexy’ arrow, this is to be expected, at least on a sophomoric level, right?
Yet who can mention Mars when studying Political Astrology without noting the Mars ‘god of war’, quarrelling, shooter, activism, instigation (ex: arson), rioting, and protest associations?
Not I, said the reluctant astrologer!
