Archive for September 2010
What have you been doing online this morning?
I’ve posted some details on the natal chart of broadcaster Glenn Beck (Feb 10, 1964) and am now cross pollinating two of my blogs with this link to the article for you.
Click and you’ll also find a video from the Alex Jones Show concerning Glenn Beck and Beck’s Sept 22 mention of the ‘global elite’…very interesting! Do you think it’s possible for the truth to sometimes escape accidentally on purpose?
Well, it took quite a few decades but on October 3, 2010, Germany will make its final reparation payment for losing World War I, Der Spiegel reports. War costs do tend to linger in more ways than one, don’t they?
And this surely will result in quite a sense of relief in Berlin!
Actually, I did not know they were still paying off the debt, did you?
As you may have heard, Dan Schmitt, who joined the upstart activist whistleblower organization of our time in 2007, says he’s leaving WikiLeaks.
Sometimes there is little option to do otherwise.
SOUTHWESTERN FIREBALL RIVALS THE HARVEST MOON
Last night, sky watchers in the southwestern United States witnessed a brilliant fireball. It was almost as bright as the full Harvest Moon and caused a loud sonic boom over parts of New Mexico.
A movie of the event is highlighted on today’s edition of Space Weather News.
Yesterday one of those freak robot emails arrived saying that on such-and-such a date, Google would automatically charge my account with the annual fee for my Stars Over Washington blog. Well, okay then. That time already? Where does the time go?
But as it turns out, I happen to have a copy of last year’s payment in my records and the date Google selected to dun me in October is 15 days earlier than last year’s fee. Am I being scammed by big rich Google? Could they possibly bo so hard up for cash that they pull this – and perhaps scoot up the date so it steals from the last annual fee?
Is paying for a year of hosting really a year of hosting minus two weeks? Will the fee come earlier next year?
Well, is there another explanation for Google’s behavior? I’ve written blogs with them for over 5 years and their action seems thievish and sneaky even if it isn’t (by some quirky twist of their rules – like slamming a price increase on bloggers without having to call itself what it amounts to.)
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this kind of practice.
I mean, it’s not as if you can actually contact a human being at Google and have a nice discussion. Right? So Do Not Look Behind the Curtain. For there might be all manner of October deformities hiding in the shadows.
Daily Kos has noted FTN host Bob Sheiffer’s tweet disclosing that Christine O’Donnell has backed out of her scheduled Face the Nation interview this Sunday. Quelle disappointment!
Perhaps O’Donnell wishes to avoid questions concerning some interesting tidbits now revealed (actually, remembered) concerning her past witchcraft dalliances which aren’t ready to be faced on the public airwaves during a campaign.
Census Reveals 45 Million Americans Living in Poverty
By Daily Mail
One in seven Americans is living below the poverty line, the US census figures reflect the worst decline in worst decline in living standards for more than half a century.
It took decades of greed by the wealthy class to skew the gap between rich and poor even more in their favor, but I have to say that it took only eight years of Bush-Cheney policies to tip our nation into third-world status – lest the GOP forget that Financial Collapse 2008 occurred on Bush’s watch.
Now Republicans want to extend the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans! For the GOP, it seems that sometimes America’s astronomical deficit matters (ex: extending unemployment benefits when there are few jobs to be found, and funding other programs for lesser endowed citizens), but when it comes to an extra bonus for millionaires and billionaires, their deficit concerns evaporate into that thin and precious air they breathe.
Reminds me of a famous quote by
Henry Brooks Adams, great-great-grandson of John Adams (yet Henry is known for his anti-semitism):
“Politics, as a practice, whatever its professions, has always been the systematic organisation of hatreds.”
In more ways than one as both Ds and Rs use divide-and-conquer tactics against the citizenry in order to keep their cushy Capitol Hill jobs and powerful positions. And though I mistrust the Tea Party’s being funded by the corporate Koch brothers, I exult in how Tea Partisans have managed to ruffle GOP feathers!
