Brits angry not at BP – at Obama!

With their lovely coastlines safe from BP oil harm, our Brit cousins are angry at the toll the BP Oil disaster is taking on their pocketbooks and pensions as they pay the price for investing in BP – and they’re blaming President Obama.

May I assume that BP shareholders and other investors had no say in how wild an enterprise BP could engage in? It probably would have made no difference if they’d objected.

However, you take your chance, you just might lose! Even if you’re accustomed to winning, losing just may happen when you’re gambling with money.

Will this turn out to be American Revolution v2?

Could Brit anger be an early expression of the July 11, 2010 Solar Eclipse @ 19Can24…precisely conjunct the UK’s natal Moon (the public) in 10th house, conjunct difficult Fixed Star, Castor?

  2. Al, now we’re hearing here that most pension plans in the UK contain BP shares so it seems to me that the 11 July 2010 Solar Eclipse conjunct UK natal Moon 19Can in your country’s n 10th house of Public Status/Career seems to be affecting the populace in pre-eclipse style. Plus, eclipses conjoining luminaries can be positive or negative (or a mixture of, as is life.)

Yet i have faith in the 12 South Series’ influence that things at first seem worse, then clear with successful outcomes!

And wouldn’t it be wonderful if – just once – a catastrophic event was navigated by politicians who Didn’t speak for political effect from the corners of their mouths? Once would be nice. It’s not as if they don’t rehearse their scripts so perhaps it’s as much the fault of the playwrights and those who pay them.

  3. Jude you are right to point out an asteroid, I’m sure when you wrote about the Cardinal Crosses some while ago you mentioned that there was an asteroid involved which meant there would be trouble on the seas which has proved right in both the horrible Gaza flotilla deaths and this now in the middle of the Gulf.

It must be so hard for the people of the region especially after the hurricanes and I can only wonder if there are some strong hurricanes this summer what could happen then, evacuations maybe and then the corporations will have another opportunity to sell new medicines and things to ‘cure’ new health problems from the oil scattering across the region, they will always find a new epidemic like the flu to scare people with!

Hopefully they can atleast contain this within the Gulf now and not let in get that far – part of me also thinks it could be a cover for the economic downturn, a distraction from what is happening on that front too so maybe its not in anyones interests to contain it after all!

    • Yes, it may not be in anyone’s political or financial interests! And how many ways must we be shown that ‘bottom lines’ mean more to corporations than mere human beings do?

Yes, the oil has spread as far as Florida now which explains some of the frustration and anger at BP and the US gov – folks feeling that not enough was done in the last several weeks to keep oil away from the shores of Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida….now it has arrived with hurricane season officially begun.

BP’s seriously low estimate seems to have deluded them intitially to think that their measures were ‘enough’ but as most people intuited, such lackadaisical efforts wouldn’t be enough – and have proven to be too little too late. (Mr. Obama goes there again Tuesday and speaks to the nation on Tues night.)

i’ve heard that BP’s reason in part for low balling the number of barrels escaping is that BP’s liability costs later on would be based on a lower amount of oil, thus damage. And since BP is a usual suspect (culprit) in such disasters, they know how to game the system with the rest of their (global) corporate brethren. They’ve been down this oil slick before.

And yes, i do think ‘rebel-with-a-cause’ Hidalgo rising is significant in the ‘BP blowout’ chart – it is, after all, an asteroid named after the Mexican priest who rang the bell to signal the start of the Mexican Revolution for Independence, so….

      Vive la Synchronicity! Jude

  5. Hi Al, good to ‘see’ you! Yes, my post showing the BP-Gulf Oil ‘blowout’ is on Stars Over Washington with asteroid Hidalgo rising at 9:50 pm…reports say “shortly before 10 pm”, etc…it’s a mystery who or why but i confess i would not rule out culpability by those who want Pres Obama ‘to fail’ by making this his “Katrina moment” as some have suggested.

Then as you ably point out, there’s the money angle – i’ve suspected precisely what you say about shares but had not read it anywhere yet – thanks for the heads-up.

Oh, and please don’t be fussy with me over it – i was nowhere near the Gulf Coast on April 20 – and DC politicians NEVER call me to ask how they should proceed on Anything har har… ;p

So shares were sold just before the spill, eh? Guess they’re feeling happy about that when they should be feeling ashamed. Jude

  6. Hello Jude,

I agree people only reacted when it became clear all the money that was going from their pensions and dividends! As someone living in Britain it wasn’t really a big story before this despite the environmental chaos.

Do you think though that there is something suspicious about the oil rig in the first place, there has been talk of the CEO selling lots of his shares just before the explosion and Goldman Sachs as always sold around half their BP shares before the spill!
