Jude’s Top 10 Astrology Blogs 2009

lemonade

What a cool surprise to find both my Astrology blogs listed by Julie Demboski on her Lemonade Award List of her favorite Top Ten Astrology Blogs!

You could have knocked me over with a Dixie Cup full of the tasty treat (be generous with the ice cubes please!) when I saw that Julie’s List included my efforts at peeking under the Universe’s hood and complaining rather grumpily about political infestations that stink up our nation’s capital.

My own list has proven somewhat elusive to compile since a number of my faves are already on someone else’s list!

And sadly a couple of picks were no longer ‘Live’ so we must assume the bloggers/authors have left town for a tropical island somewhere or are no longer blogging on behalf of The Collective, as I tend to think of it.

Is it okay to reciprocate with an author who chose my blog/s by putting them on my List? Not sure, so I won’t, even though the brilliant Julie Demboski knows who she is!

Well, here goes, but here’s a caution: every time I try this sort of thing I’m late enough that my choices are ahead of me in the already-listed department…

1. Ask Christine Astrology began posting March 2008, and you’ll find a range of astrological subjects such as Traditional, Horary (the ‘ask’ part), Cosmic Art (my favorite kind), and historical entries on such ancient astrologers as Guido Bonatti. Christine has been astrologizing for quite a while and her writings show a deep mastery of her subjects so drop by and ask a question if you could use expert guidance from the venerable art. Folks have used Horary Astrology for centuries – why shouldn’t you?

2. Monica Starr’s practical and balanced treatment of a variety of subjects always amazes me so visit her Astrology Mundo blog without delay if you’re not on to her excellent writings already.

3. The peskiest house in any horoscope, the unconscious/karma-ridden 12th house is a specialty of Anne Whitaker, whose book on the 1997 Jupiter/Uranus Conjunction (5AQ56) has been published by the AFA, so Congratulations, Anne!

Do check out her indepth writings and reports at Writing from the Twelfth House without delay!

4. The_Betty writes on her Aeorlithic Astrology blog with great insights into current events using my personal fave, Mundane (Political) Astrology, so visit her when you can – her series The Rise of Obama is definitely worth your close consideration.

5. Bev over at Lavender Moon may be chosen already, but I so love her blog’s charming name that it had to be added to my List. Yes, my Pisces Moon tends to enjoy Lunar themes and Bev’s intuitive columns come from her heart with her inherited spiritual/intuitive healing abilities…a very soothing site!

6. Again on a Moon theme we have direct from Hawaii a lady with a personal touch to her writing and lots of astrological insights. It’s Kuanyin’s Moonlight Becomes Me where you’ll find that Hawaiian moonlight becomes even the most wandering reader!

7. Now Mystic Medusa has a blog worth noting for Astrology’s archetypes and signs, Lunations info, and its Astro-Beauty features and articles. It’s true that beauty may be only skin-deep but you never know what other interesting topics will be treated – there’s even a recent post on Franz Mesmer whose birthday was May 23 (I did not know that!)

8. blog no longer Live (phooey)

9. blogger taking a months-long holiday until Pluto stations Direct Sept 11, 2009 (arghhh!)

10. Kathryn Cassidy is on a break as well, but her excellent articles archive is well worth your perusal until her return to Collaborate with Fate so don’t be remiss about visiting Kathryn’s wonderfully informative blog – perhaps we might entice her back a little early!

Okay, so I’m hoping you won’t notice that for now there are only 8 blogs on my Lemonade List. And I know the World of Astrology Blogging is subject to quick and unexpected changes (Uranus!) as is everything else these days. Real Life schedules and events ‘get in the way’ around here, too.

Yet perhaps I’ll have a chance this week to add to my list a couple of older blogs’ links that I’ve lost contact with since I upgraded my Blogspot blog (Blogger.)

Perhaps an old paper notebook full of scribbles will reveal their names and they will still be aLive and kicking!

So if your blog is on my List and you haven’t done this already, write up your own Lemonade List and comment on the blogs you list in order to alert them to their Award bestowed for possessing attitude or gratitude.

You also need to post the Lemonade Awards logo with your Top Ten List which, after some techie troubles, I seem to have added to this post as required. Hope it displays properly or I’ll be even more sour than usual – yet pleased as punch to receive such an Award!

  3. Jude — Thanks for the nomination.I have to be more diligent about my posts. As you’ve probably noticed, I have been distracted by non-astro activities lately. Now, I feel I have to live up to your nomination. All the best, Monica

  4. Hi Julie, not much angst but a little self-doubt about techie prowess of which i possess a dearth!

Top Ten? You’d think we’d know hundreds if not thousands of Astrology blogs to list but then that would indicate having a prodigious amount of online surfing time, wouldn’t it? ;p

Thanks again for including me on your Lemon Awards nom List!! jc

  6. Hi Jude!
Thanks for the shout-back! I hope this Lemmy didn’t cause you any angst-I feel that a nom should carry no obligation to further action (I’m not into chain letters!) so personally hope only those who want to will carry it on.
Your list includes many I would’ve liked to include, too-that’s the problem with top ten lists, I guess, the rest of the world gets left out!
