Our Labor Day parade 2010

Americans have President Grover Cleveland to thank for the political ploy of setting up an annual Labor Day, a Monday holiday for some that traditionally has meant speeches and parades through the towns and burroughs.

Imho, Cleveland established Labor Day in order to avert more crises with workers angry toward the government, not to honor them, which is a load of hogwash!

So considering the condition of the US labor market and too-high unemployment numbers, I suspect ‘parades’ may morph into demonstrations and protests this September 6, 2010.

This year the semi-holiday will give his opponents yet another opening to ‘make it’ about President Obama’s policies when massive layoffs are actually a decades-long trend brought to us by American and Global Corporatism.

Now if you’ve ever read this blog or my Political Astrology blog Stars Over Washington, you know that I consider our ‘two-party’ system to be a mirage. It’s ruling class vs we-the-people in my book with little if any difference between an R and a D.

Yet their waging of class warfare has been in evidence more clearly in recent years though it’s been a bone of contention off and on for decades in the US, perhaps since Day One in our plutocracy. The more Americans out of work, the more notice it’s a case of class warfare and yes, greed.

Particularly since the late 1800s, the era of the industrialists, aka the Robber Barons, workers’ jobs have been dependent upon upper crusters whose main concern with the bottom line is paramount; their craving for power only grows. While the rest of us long to pay our bills and decently support our families, the power elite long for more control over us…which includes the ability to lay off thousands at one swipe.

In fact, recent data of corporate earnings show that much of their ‘earnings’ are wispily based on letting go their workforce in massive numbers. A neat trick to increase profits, if you’re in the corporate ruling class, eh? And who’s to stop you? SCOTUS is on the side of corporations against the individual, as has been made exceedingly clear.

Well, in May 2010, Mother Jones reported that No matter what’s going on in the broader economy, Wall Street always thinks earning will be at least 12% or higher – part of their sneaky tricks of the trade, no doubt.

Yes, Wall Street’s Fuzzy Math and multiple sets of books bedevil the US economy but you don’t need any sort of math at all if you or a loved one are out of a job with no prospects for employment. You’re zero-for-zero and x-ed off the rolls. Turning to Congress for aid barely gets you a crust of bread though funds for war are easily financed.

So what to do for Labor Day 2010?

Will you march in a celebratory parade – or a had-enough protest?

Oct 9 is D-Day for Lehman Bros derivatives

Let George Washington explain about this Thursday being D-Day for Lehman Brothers’ auction (D for ’derivatives’) and how much hinges on the auction’s outcome in spite of anything Paulson and Bernanke have done or might do.

And if you read George’s last paragraph, you’ll see that Oct 23 is D-Day for Washington Mutual.

Oct 23?

Oct 23, 1907 is the 101st anniversary of the day top financier J. P. Morgan said enough’s enough and rescued America’s financial patootie, although there was more than met the eye concerning that panic, too…like the problems of NY’s Knickerbocker Trust.

“This is the place to stop this trouble!” J. P. exclaimed, yet Neptune had opposed his natal Jupiter on Sept 30, 1907. And he was enjoying a fresh Jupiter Return which had recently occurred on Oct 1, 1907! Hmmm.

Noel Tyl calls them “Jupiter Reward Cycles.” (See J. P.’s Page in the sidebar column – there’s a link to Daniel Gross’ article on the subject of Oct 23, 1907 – the Panic of 1907 – as it relates to 2008.)

Well, 2008′s most powerful banker is Jamie Dimon, J. P.’s successor of sorts as head of the firm descending from the House of Morgan. The Robber Barons just keep steam rollin’ along, don’t they?

Now I turn you over to George Washington:

Neptune-Pluto’s karmic septile dance

Generational, slow-moving Neptune and Pluto, these days traversing off and on in septile aspect (51 degr 26 mins) with one another, have karmic implications for mankind which I discuss here:

http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2006/08/karma-neptune-pluto-septile.html

Inspired by the works of Dane Rudyar, Michael Meyer, and the Harmonic work of John Addey, the post includes the dates of the Great Conjunction of Neptune and Pluto which began the cycle of their current dance…a slow, passionate tango, I think, but perhaps occasionally breaking into a jitterbug.

Or perhaps we’re the jitterbugs!

Neptune-Pluto’s third conjunction of April 30, 1882 is the horoscope I use (inspired by the work of Alan Meece) as the ‘Generation of Materialism’ chart – or you could call it the natal chart of the Robber Barons when the real plundering began.

Ah, the 1890s…choo chooo! Hear that train whistle blow and the telegraph tap. And of course there’s Neptune’s representation of oil and gas, and Pluto’s underworld, underground, tunnel and cave linkage…where the goodies are hidden.

An out-of-personal-control septile aspect has a fated or karmic flavor and is an aspect of the 7th Harmonic. It represents in its deepest essence the very cosmos itself, and links the transcendent with the personal (which is also a function of experiential Chiron who says: Be Here NOW! Then there’s karmic Saturn and Uranus, The Witness, but that’s for another post.)

With Neptune now in Aquarius and Pluto having returned to Sagittarius – but soon to re-enter Capricorn – the aspect between these two lumbering giants is waning, a condition of a septile aspect which is given by Michael Meyer as:

“The use of intuition and understanding as a means of envisioning and achieving the fulfillment of one’s destiny.” (‘The Astrology of Relationship,’ Michael R. Meyer.)

Sounds good to me! Where can I get me some o’that intution and understanding? Perhaps Astrology will see a resurgence of popularity…or is already in large part due to the internet. Plus, the Sabian Symbol oracle of word pictures for each of the 360 degrees helps in this evolutionary endeavor.

(You’ll find the Geminian Sabian Symbol for the 1892 Great Conjunction in the above-linked post and synchronistically enough, it’s where gold-loving Midas is transiting NOW in sometimes duplicitous Gemini. This reminds me of “two sets of books” accounting but today’s wheeler dealers seem to have several sets, don’t they?)

Actually if you’re the sort of person who isn’t tied to the “this is all there is” model of science – materialism as world view – the use and study of Astrology is the greatest tool I know for peeking under the hood of the cosmos and for delving into one’s psyche in holographic fashion.

H7 (how I refer to the 7th Harmonic though some use ’7H’) includes aspects: 102 degr 52 mins, and 154 degr 17 mins, so if you have any of these aspects in your natal chart you may find a sense of karmic fatedness connected to the planets involved in the areas of the Houses where the planets appear. The influence then boomerangs to other Houses and planets which resonate to the septiled planets like ripples on the pond of life.

So do I, your reluctant astrologer, have a septile natally? Yes, between Mercury and Chiron, and there has been karma in relation to children (Mercury) and in some other areas of life (Houses) that I haven’t fully sussed out yet, communication and siblings being the more obvious ones to consider. But my story isn’t quite done being written, dawg.

What was the catch phrase of a few years ago?  Ah yes – ‘God isn’t finished with me yet.’

But I’m finished – with this post!

Midas: 8 Gemini

These days gold-hoarding Midas hangs out around 8 Gemini so I’m looking at Dane Rudhyar’s Sabian Symbol book, ‘An Astrological Mandala’ for details on our “Second Gilded Age” of Robber Baron Midasses, the obscenely wealthy class which has imposed upon those underneath them on the golden ladder of life the income inequality in America which now widens to Soup Line dimensions.

PBS’s ‘Bill Moyers’ Journal’ yesterday addressed these issues and called it an idee fixe  which the power elite cling to so tightly (tightwads) concerning the ‘free’ market system which they can’t seem to think their way out of.

Why should they when their amassing of wealth stokes a rosy illusion of liberation from the collective masses–a heady motive for imagining themselves above the rabble!

Wasn’t it Einstein who said you can’t think your way out of a problem with the same thinking that created the problem? But these greedy, power hungry culprits don’t want a way out and they prefer the rest of us simmering in the cauldron, thanks. And dissolving of boundaries–economic, national, social–is part of their much-touted one-world government intrigues where their dreams of world domination thrive.

Barack Obama’s mentions of America’s ongoing class warfare don’t make it happen–the power elite do, then they cringe when someone points it out! As well they should. For glorified ’brethren’ they sure don’t care at all for their fellow man.

Yet Some People the world over are trying to better their positions bwo labor unions…

‘ “8Gem”…”Aroused Strikers Surround A Factory”…keynote: The disruptive power of the ambitious mind upon the organic wholeness of human relationship.

The first stage dealt with oil (’6Gem’: “Workmen Drilling for Oil”…keynote: The avidity for knowledge which ensures wealth and power…AMBITION.) Now we see in this new symbol a pictorial indication of what the use of this intellect-generated energy inevitably leads to: industrial unrest and violence.

As man manages to rape the earth in order to demonstrate his power and intensify his pleasures and his sense of proud mastery, conflicts and disruptive processes are inevitably initiated. The type of power generated by the analytical intellectual faculties is essentially disruptive; it is based on the destruction of matter, and invites egocentric hoarding and spoliation–and, in general, privileges of one kind or another.

This leads to a REVOLT AGAINST PRIVILEGES.’ #

Old King Midas’ egocentric hoarding will get the best of him one day–if not on this earth, then on the coming New and Improved version because threading a needle with a rich camel will be an impossibility in the sweet bye’n'bye!

~:~ note: you may wish to see my Pages list for the Reaganomics Eclipse if you’ve hithertofore missed the trickle down nonsense. ‘Trickle down’/voodoo economics only works when the corporate elite plow some of their billion-dollar breaks from the US taxpayers BACK into the economy they skimmed it from.

Instead, recent years have brought downsizing, outsourcing, and the continued selling out of America along with apt Capitol Hill enabling…we see their NWO plans in action similar to Hitler’s amassing of wealth in the 30s–and the economic hourglass tilts again in the elite’s favor toward totalitarian imperialism. #

owning the US government

“The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government of the US since the days of Andrew Jackson.” –Franklin D. Roosevelt

~~:~~

And they’re squeezing it dry 2008 as transiting asteroid King Midas hooks up with the Great Neptune/Pluto Conjunction in the ‘Generation of Materialism’ birth chart (1892) of the Robber Baron class infesting industry, energy, and finance (7-8 Gemini) and we now have ringside seats for observing the rotten outcome from these hubristic social tinkerers.

Here’s a rhyme for Barack Obama’s campaign and VP vetting woes:

Past CEO of Fanny Mae Obama’s vetting done
it’s best to move along your way for races must be won!

Uh oh! another silly poem has occurred, this one for John McCain who’s So Not like George Bush, he’d have us believe, and yet he reminds me of SomeOne ruthless and reformist in a police state kind of way…this verse may not be groanworthy enough for the discerning but at least it’s briefer than the Bush tenure…

McCain McCain our oft’ refrain
what wars will you promote?
don’t plan attacks
to knife our backs
while reading My Pet Goat.
