Cold Hearts in America (and three quotes)
The first quote concerns America’s shadow personality, the one most of us prefer to ignore, and it fits in with some Republican audience members’ shouted sentiments like, Let him die!, and other such cold hearted remarks and attitudes–and they know who they are.
We’d all better hope that those with such harsh sentiments toward their fellow man–fellow Americans–aren’t nurses, doctors, or other healthcare workers.
And I’d best fix my own cup of tea, thanks. You, I can’t trust.
“The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It’s a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis.” -Harold Pinter, 2005 Nobel Lecture
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” –Hermann Goering (1893-1946) Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe, President of the Reichstag.
“The people never give up their liberties, but under some delusion.” –Edmund Burke (1729-1797) Irish-born British statesman, parliamentary orator, and political thinker
Uncomfortable how these three quotes go together on some fundamental American level, isn’t it?

GOP’s new Energy Policy unveiled
The GOP has announced their new energy policy which is designed to ignore global warming.
This twisted pretzel of a policy is quite a political calculation and I don’t remember asking them, yet they will spout – if only to undermine a White House full of Democrats, and to keep we-the-people as divided and confused as possible!
Don’t fall for it. And yes, they’re all an infestation of Washington DC to me.
Republican vultures need “fresh blood” says Cornyn
Yes, he did. But I added the ‘vulture’ reference. Sorry.
Republican spokesman John Cornyn says the Republican Party needs new faces and fresh blood – and he makes them sound pretty desperate for a power snack:

You know, in progressions we saw that the Republican Party’s natal chart reached its Secondary Progressed Full Moon (12Gem08 conj US natal Desc in the ‘Sibly’ chart of 5:10 pm LMT) on Feb 18, 2005; Sec Sun 12Sag08 conj US natal ASC…indicating the ‘waning of light’ for the organization, and, through its close conj with America’s ASC (the nation), a waning of the nation herself under Republican rule.
Further emphasis was provided by Dec 24, 2008 which saw America’s own Progressed Full Moon 4Vir10 (Sec Sun 4Pis10 – see Pages in sidebar for chart) as the Bush-Cheney-GOP axis of destruction of America neared completion of its neo-conic work and the Big Heist was implemented bwo the Bush-Paulson ’Bailout Bill’.
Any type of Full Moon – whether by transit, lunations (such as Feb 9, 2009′s Lunar Eclipse 21Leo, hours before Pres. Obama speaks Monday evening), or in progressions such as we discuss here, represents the culmination of a cycle begun at the last New Moon when the ‘clock’ began ticking on that cycle of activity.
Perhaps the Sun Sag-Moon Gem combo of the R-Party’s Sec Full Moon may be of interest before their progressions enter the Disseminating stage on Mar 19, 2009, a stage of putting out the ideas (they seem to have responded early because of the presidency being in Democratic hands):
Sun Sag-Moon Gem: ‘Robin Hood as a young boy plays truant from school to go to his archery lesson, but ends up teaching his card tricks to his master.’ (“Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Chas & Suzi Harvey.)
Now in my memory I can’t think of a single time that the GOP has ‘robbed from the rich to give to the poor’ – in fact, this seems to be their main objection to Obama’s stimulus/recovery plan…it channels a bunch of money to help the average Joes and Jills of this laid-off nation.
But the Rs do excel at robbing from the poor to give (more) to the rich, imo, with their own bank accounts very much included.
Must be Astrology’s AC-DC character – energy flows happily in both directions. And as with most things, it’s Motive that makes all the difference in how chart factors are utilized – for ill or good.
Well, for several years the American people have depended on the Republican Party to do right by them, and we know where that led. That they can be allowed to obstruct aid when the American worker has come to a point of desperation is not something the Democrats better roll over and ignore. (And if they do, they’re complicit!)
So if Pres. Obama’s speech Monday evening (or whenever it’s given) can’t go over the heads of these reverse-Robin Hoods and talk directly to the American people, then Barack Obama isn’t the orator he’s said to be, and our nation’s future is washed down the drain of small thinking and political upsmanship on behalf of a party devoid of all empathy for the common man, and whose light deserves to fade.
It’s America’s waning light I fret over!
Election in November or not?
As the 2008 campaign endlessly grinds on I’m receiving more comments here and there (‘there’ being Stars Over Washington) that the US may not be having elections this November, the lastest from one of my favorite people, Jilly.
And I’ve written on the possibility myself – October Surpise, false flag op, martial law - whatever it takes for Bush to stay in the White House (a horrid horrid thought, isn’t it?) if they think McCain can’t win; so when readers with intuitive abilities tell me that the Nov elections may be called off or disrupted beyond repair, it makes me think yet again that what has been worked toward for so long and at such price and effort will not be easily surrendered to the ‘other team’ – if at all.
If that’s the case, it’s too bad that America and the needs of the American people get lost in their egoistic, power-mad shuffle.
Today I’ve been looking at the Secondary Progressed midpoints (and charts) for the Democratic Party (born May 13, 1792 NS; 12:00 pm LMT; Philadelphia, PA) and the Republican Party (born July 6, 1854 NS; 5:00 pm LMT; Jackson, MI.)
Since tonight marks the last of the three presidential debates, I’m comparing today’s Seconday midpoints with those of Nov 4, 2008 and for Jan 20, 2009, and the only difference is in the Dem’s chart…the diffcult Saturn/Pluto duo rises by Nov 4…
Saturn/Pluto = ASC: placed in cumbersome and difficult circumstances; separation; bereavement.
Also the Saturn-Pluto midpoint in the Republican Party’s Progressions is conj Sec NN and will continue to be for some time: common suffering shared with others; the misery of the masses.
Now there are many more good indcations than the one negative one for both parties. The Dems’ Sec Sun is conj Sec Mc, for instance. But I looked for what changed between now and Jan20, 2009.
And it’s no weakness or lack in Astrology for Astrology describes the many levels of life we all contend with – good mixed with bad. Plus, motives always matter and sometimes things come seemingly from out of nowhere – at least we are unconscious of them until they actually occur, then it’s a Doh! Moment a la Homer Simpson, isn’t it? “Who saw that coming?” we ask incredulously.
Well, since I’m “under the weather” today and feeling somewhat puny, I’ll simply close with the current Secondary ‘Images for Integration’ for each party. You might get a kick out of them – or perhaps a chill:
Democrats: Sun Sag-Moon Cap: “In the year 2999, a courageous explorer goes on a quest for knowledge of the past which opens up for man a hopeful future on another planet…With patient skill a rock climber scales a seemingly impossible mountain peak.”
Republicans: Sun Sag-Moon Cancer: “A homing pigeon…An evangelist offers a vision of personal salvation…An international nanny…Jimi Hendrix’s Woodstock rendition of ‘The Star Spangled Banner’…William Blake’s watercolour, ‘Teach These Souls to Fly’.” (Tate Gallery, London.)

Heads-Up Oct 15: check the Pages list in the sidebar column for a sprinkling of astrological notes on journalist Keith Olbermann (Jan 27, 1959) and a link to the text of his call yesterday for John McCain to suspend his campaign.
Also added: in the category list for ’2008 campaign’ you’ll find “2008 Electopedia” which is a great resource I’m late finding but am glad I did…it has all sorts of info on Obama and McCain so you can compare and contrast – in no special order a few are: Biggest Lie, Worst Enemy, Best Debate Smackdown, Mentor, Superstitions, and more – all in one spot. Handy!
Palin Power!
Republicans have allowed the report on TrooperGate to be released with the key finding that Sarah Palin abused her office:

Optimistic about McCain economic proposals?
Traditionally the American attitude leans toward optimism, not pessimism. Campaign 2008? it really really IS about the economy, stupid. For the most part.
And since I know that ‘idealism increases in direct proportion to one’s distance from the problem’, and noticing that none of the Economic Houses of John McCain are in my neighborhood, I thought you might wish to check out this article:
http://www.stateofnature.org/bushMccain.html
McCain is in his winter years, he’s out of touch, he’s been rich a long time, and he admits to knowing little about economic issues…all of which make him unaffordable for the American people along with the Republican Party’s drunken sailor ways under which we’re already suffering. Four MORE?
Now partisans, before you fuss - no Democratic hat is worn here either. This blogger prefers wearing an American Hat at all times – and not just during a political Convention when it sounds good as a slogan.
“Country First” indeed.
balm for our misery? June 3rd’s New Moon in Gemini
Just as the universe would have it!
Tuesday, June 3 is the day of final Dem primaries and also the day of a ‘Super Moon’ in Gemini, sign of the writer, communicator, spokesperson, scribe, reporter, young people–you get the picture.
Mercury, now seeming to move Rx (at 19Gem18 in the New Moon chart and headed all the way back to 12Gem59, conj the US natal ASC or DESC depending on which version of America’s natal chart you prefer)…..sparks things such as voting, ballots, speeches, negotiations and agreements, travel…anything you can turn your Geminian hand or mind to.
Astrological Mercury reminds me of tofu because picks up the flavors of its contacts. Mercury’s ‘tofu principle’ helps makes propaganda and mind control possible in our dualistic world along with Mercury’s rulership of our senses.
Thinking, the thought processes (re-thinking one’s choice may be popular on Tuesday), and style of oration also fall within Mercury’s purview so there are obvious links to 2008′s almost endless going going gone primary season during which highly trained and vetted candidates usually have managed to direct the topic du jour as best they’d been taught.
And they have appeared on TV and promotionally posed for as many charming snoot shots as their handlers could schedule for the cameras. (Scheduling–also a Mercurial past time.)
We know that elections held when Mercury is Rx are surprising if there aren’t do-overs or recounts in some way, or sneaky tricks (including hacking) whether uncovered or not. Having no ride to the voting booth also describes a Rx Mercury period.
So if you’re interested, you’ll find more details, chart included, on June 3rd’s New Moon by clicking the link below, with notes on the significance of a ’Super Moon’ in case you’ve forgotten:
http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2008/05/june-3-new-moon-last-of-primaries.html
This New Moon perfects just as three Fixed Stars of some report shine at Midheaven, the most public point in any chart (Career, Social or Public Status, and Aspirations and Goals.)
These 3 Stars culminating over the White House at the New Moon are:
Alhena, ‘to have a mission,’ Canopus, ‘A Pathfinder’ or “Navigator;’ and Sirius, ‘The Scorcher’ (will McClellan’s ‘scorching’ critique of the Bush White House still be on everyone’s minds Tuesday? Hey! Mercury is Rx…will books be returned to book stores everywhere? Of course, McClellan’s book may be considered a re-thinking on his part of the the Bush adm’s actions leading up to their ill-advised war.)
Sirius as goddess lies deep within esoteric Egyptian star lore and within the founding of our nation. ‘The Dog Star’ is the barking dog archetype expressing itself as ’The Announcer’ so we may assume that America has an announcing role in the world–announcing the New World Order as some (including this grumpy astrologer) say. Or perhaps I should say, warning of intent.
Canopus has been used in Arabia as the South Pole Star for navigating purposes and was aka The Bright One or The Wise One. Being very bright (the Alpha Star of Carina), Canopus was considered the South Pole Star by many cultures. Another name for this Star: the Heavy-Weighing Canopus because it was considered the weight at the end of the plumb line used to define the poles.
Alhena (Gamma Gemini) is a Star of movement and determination and in Arabia was called, The Proudly Marching One. Having ‘a cause for which you will march’ is part of Alhena’s lore as marches and protests (which are happening in Washington today outside the Dems’ Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting about FL and M’s well-orchestrated primary-rescheduling naughtiness) are on the rise and in the news.
(Star details: Brady’s ‘Fixed Stars.’)
The Dem meeting and DNC “Unity” Dinner this weekend are shaded within the dark of the Balsamic Moon (just before a New Moon) so we may never know what really transpired within their thinking and discussions (which makes me wonder what the waning Republican Party’s bosses are up to in the meantime.) Yes, Dem muckedy mucks are discussing the sassy ‘re-scheduling’ of FL and MI primaries–astrologically quite appropriate!
Well, I don’t know if a balm of calm will be meted out from this New Moon although some political decisions must be made in the next few days. Will this Super Moon’s superdelegates ‘re-consider’ their backing of Clinton for Obama’s sake? Will political quakes follow?
How soothing the outcomes will be remains to be seen as the Moon’s rays grow in strength and intensity toward the Full Moon of June 18th to reveal more fully the path America now treads so precariously.
