Astro-Notes: 113th Congress’ natal horoscope

Update 1/1/13: the natal horoscope of 2013′ s 113th Congress is in process of being recalculated due to the swearing-in now being set for January 4th, not January 3rd as I had previously heard and posted on. Please check with Stars Over Washington over the next two days where I will display asap a fresh horoscope of the new Congress. Please pardon the inconvenience! Jude

Update2: January 3rd has been cited again. Maybe I’ll put off posting a Jan 4th horoscope until the 113th swears in–whenever that turns out to be. jc

Original post begins here:

If you’re familiar with Mundane or Political Astrology, you know that the Sun signifies the president in the US, or more generally, leaders and leadership.

Having published today’s post at Stars Over Washington concerning the 113th Congress, it just occurred to me that I neglected to describe one of the new Congress’ important midpoint pictures involving the Sun and the Neptune/North Node midpoint, with its potentials for scandals, glamorization of national ideals, drug policies that ignore important concerns, spies or terrorists on villainous missions, and/or inadequate medical care and/or hospital systems. (Munkasey.)

So here is the picture thus created by nebulous, obfuscating Neptune and NN (contacts, meetings, encounters, and future direction):

Neptune-NN = Sun: a determination to be original (Munkasey); seeking contacts, or else feeling misunderstood (Tyl); feeling disappointed or let down by others (Ebertin.)

If you wish, click for more info on the 113th Congress and a view of its natal horoscope with details for the 113th convenes on January 3, 2013 at noon est. You’ll see that that there are two Angular midpoints–one rising (ASC = 113th Congress) and one at Mc (The Goal)–which you may wish to consider if you haven’t already.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

May 5, 2012 Super Moon and Halley’s Comet debris

May 5/6, 2012: A Celestial Heads-Up Weekend!

Space Weather News for May 3, 2012

Earth is entering a stream of debris from Halley’s Comet, source of the annual eta Aquarid meteor shower. The shower peaks this weekend on May 5th and 6th. Glare from a perigee full Moon–a “Super Moon”–will interfere with the display. Nevertheless, observers especially in the southern hemisphere could still see dozens of meteors during the hours before local sunrise on May 6th.

More information about the shower and live audio from a meteor radar may be found on SpaceWeather.com.

An intriguing perigee Moon, the closest to Earth of any 2012 ‘SuperMoon’, as named by expert astrologer Richard Nolle, and debris from Halley’s Comet make this weekend cosmically eventful for all earthlings of the stardust persuasion!

Plus, if you’re like me, you always think of Mark Twain when there’s any mention of Halley’s Comet since he was born during one of the comet’s close encounters with Earth and the author-journalist’s death was timed by the next sighting as he himself predicted!

But as an ace storyteller, Twain (Samuel Clemons) was known to exaggerate a smidgeon when it suited. To quote him on the topic, “I came in with Halley’s Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year (1910), and I expect to go out with it. It will be the greatest disappointment of my life if I don’t go out with Halley’s Comet. The Almighty has said, no doubt: “Now here are these two unaccountable freaks; they came in together, they must go out together.”

- Mark Twain, A Biography

Additionally, if you can manage a little Political Astrology (written in English!), you may wish to check out my post May 5, 2012 Scorpio Full Moon w 00Cap Rising which is a significant, critical degree on the Cardinal axis of World Manifestation and which peeks over the horizon when the Full Moon horoscope is exact and set for Washington DC. Capricorn rising makes controlling manager Saturn the chart-ruler so there’s that astrological factor to consider as well and you’ll remember that powerful, spying, wealth-hoarding, and transformative Pluto was the most recent outer planet to cross the 00Cap00 point.

Also, if you click you’ll find a linked path to a wonderful May 5 Full Moon analysis written by Depali Desai–her not-to-be-missed article is very interesting reading by the light of any super-sized Full Moon you can spy in the heavens above!

What’s up at Jude’s Threshold?

Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve had time to post here and though withdrawal symptoms have set in, my blogging schedule has yet to return to normal because a new baby arrives home from the hospital in about an hour so you can imagine how busy my family members are these days, including me!

There’s a casserole in the oven (waiting for my Italian-food-loving daughter Maya) and her hubby, plus, there’s a 6-year old running about and wondering what’s for lunch (as they will do.)

Meanwhile, Politics and Campaign 2012 keep rolling along and though I’m keeping up with the news, I have little chance to write about anything–except for a few exceptions recently published over at Stars Over Washington, my Political Astrology blog where you’ll find Max Igan videos, political videos and links, astro-notes, politicians’ natal planets, and more.

One change while I’ve been non-blogging, however, is a new addition to my TV-watching habit on Current TV, the 9 am edt broadcast by Stephanie Miller and crew so check her out if you haven’t for “politically direct” conversation, interesting guests, and an opportunity to call in and express yourself on the political and social topics of the day.

Now–please pass the Pampers! ;p

March 7, 2012: Posting from Acworth Georgia

Hello everyone from Acworth, Georgia where my new office is in process of being set up!

Not much to say after yesterday’s Super Tuesday with Newt Gingrich snagging himself a bevy of delegates that, I confess, I can’t imagine will catapult him into the Oval Office. But as Bob Barr, who once served with Newt on Capitol Hill, said in an http://www.npr.org interview last evening, with Newt, it’s all about ideas. Apparently Newt really really covets a seat at the victor’s Republican table come January 21, 2013 (yes, January 20 is on a Sunday next year.) T

Naturally, this would return him to DC politics in a major way, of course, but I can’t forget his disruptive, off-the-wall ways during the 1990s, can you? At least he doesn’t drawl in that annoying manner that some Southern politicians have, being from Pennsylvania and all.

For those who think the Speaker has been at too many tables already, I heartily agree (not being a Newtster myself) yet I probably resemble that remark more than I care to admit. ;-)

Well, new equipment set-ups have hit a glitch (isn’t Technology wonderful?) but as soon as I’m up and running, I will return to posting here and at my Political Astrology blog, http://www.starsoverwashington.com so check back when you can or sign up for email alerts! For the Inauguration 2013 horoscope looks very very interesting and shows points in its favor for both President Obama and Mitt Romney…

Blog Note: if you visit SO’W you’ll find a Search Bar where you may type in terms such as “Newt Gingrich” for a list of my previous posts, some with videos–there’s also a list in the sidebar of Astro-Peeks at the natal planets of certain politicians if you’re curious about the varmints. And please pardon the glitches with the links in this post–I’m not accustomed to the strange ways of a Mac desktop!

Pisces New Moon forms Solar Eclipse from Space!

Celestial Path and Beyond

Well, I knew about today’s New Moon in Pisces, of course, but how cosmic and cool is this?

Space Weather News for Feb. 21, 2012

SOLAR ECLIPSE FROM SPACE: Earlier today the new Moon passed in front of the sun, producing a solar eclipse visible from space. High-resolution images of the event captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory are featured on the Feb. 21st edition of SpaceWeather News.

Check out a few astro-details I’ve posted concerning today’s New Moon @ 3Pis42, exact at 5:34 pm est with Regulus Rising in Washington DC. As you know, Regulus is one of the Royal Stars of Persia with one major caution: success if revenge is avoided–too bad over-reaching Washington and the Pentagon seldom if ever take such good advice.

January 24, 2012: SOTU and SOPA?

January 24, 2012 is shaping up to be an important date in the US with President Obama delivering his State of the Union Address (SOTU) before the TV cameras and a Joint Session of Congress in the evening (9:00 pm ET), and the US Senate said to be voting on the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), a freaky piece of legislative gumbledy-gook with an Orwellian hue that will totally re-design the Internet while tossing democracy on the garbage heap of History, thanks to a highly plutocratic USA.

Here’s what I wrote about the Internet power grab recently on Stars Over Washington:

“Our millionaire Senate is set to vote on SOPA on January 24, 2012 and this draconian bill will sail through to a corporate harbor if enough people fail to speak up and out. If it passes then subversive, controlling string-puller Pluto in staid Capricorn will win and we will lose a larger chunk of our republic and our right to exercise free speech than we may yet appreciate.”

That’s just me. But do you blame me?

Now my annual post on the SOTU Address horoscope of January 24, 2012 isn’t published yet but if you have a chance, please check out today’s SO’W entry concerning President Obama’s very current Mars Return 2012 which began this past Saturday, crescendoes and forces acceptance on February 1, 2012, and wraps up–hopefully with real solutions–on June 18, 2012. However, its Martian effects last until the next time Mars returns to its natal position on the evening Barack Obama was born, and times a two-year cycle of new activity beginning for our president, and thus, for America as long as he is It.

Because this is a ‘three-fer’ Mars Return (3x) due to planetary retrogradation, Mr. Obama may have activities and projects left over to deal with, overlapping activities (who wouldn’t in the White House?), stop-and-go delays–all with a drawn out emphasis on Martian matters and issues which need closer consideration than if Mars returned only once.

The three horoscopes (Jan 14-Feb 1-June 18, 2012) may also be read individually by dividing the two-year Martian period into thirds with each Mars Return horoscope representing that third of the two-year period.

However, as you will see if you click above, the Moon makes an excellent timer in any chart and here, a Geminian Luna returns to her natal position in the horoscope of Barack Obama on February 1, 2012–the day of his Rx Mars Return, #2 of 3.

All your on-topic comments are welcome!

Dec 16 2011 Comet Lovejoy survives its solar plunge!

Well, apparently today the US Congress acted in time to avoid a shutdown of the US government tonight at midnight so that we the people can avoid being extinguished for a while longer–we survived our own ‘solar plunge’ in spite of the massives egos operating and battling for control on Capitol Hill.

The horoscope for that hour and date tonight set for DC shows US natal Neptune 22Vig25 rising, and as you know, Virgo is the sign of Work, Service (including military and police), and Health; plus, the stars of Virgo are very important to the cosmic founding of America and our Ceres-Venus-Columba-goddess archetypes and obsessions (ex: Statue of Liberty.)

Consider Fixed Star Denebola, now @ 22Virgo: keywords: ‘to go against society; against the mainstream’ which seems to me to be just what politicians are conspiring to do when they fiddle faddle around and neglect the creation of employment opportunities and programs that could put Americans back to work and which would help boost the US economy.

Instead we get such frothiness as light bulb efficiency regulations and reaffirmation of our national motto even though it was reaffirmed as recently as 2002.

Yes, it’s time and dime wasting on Capitol Hill! And of course, transit Neptune @ 28AQ is still within orb of US natal Moon (we-the-people) which brought us floods, fraud, and home foreclosures with the resulting homelessness, sense of rootlessness, and loss.

Besides, any chart with Neptune rising describes unstable and/or deceptive conditions so with a rising spiritual, idealistic, and inspired yet confused Neptune, planet of fraud, dissolution, oil-gas-water, and poisons, I hope the megabus bill passed today doesn’t have what’s called “poison pills” hidden secretly in Neptunian fashion within its 2,300 pages.

And with President Obama’s natal Mars (motivation; desire nature; energy ;action principle) veiled by US natal Neptune, can we depend on Mr. Obama to veto what the majority of us don’t want such as indefinite detention? Doubtful–also a Neptunian word.

Anyway, here’s a SpaceWeather News update for you about a comet that avoided being extinguished in spite of all the Sun could do:

Space Weather News Dec 16, 2011

SUNGRAZING COMET SURVIVES: Sungrazing Comet Lovejoy has confounded the experts and survived its close encounter with the sun. Last night, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded amazing movies of the comet entering and exiting the sun’s atmosphere.

Comet Lovejoy’s scorched remnant is now receding from the sun in full view of the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory. Visit SpaceWeather.com for the latest movies and discussion.

Astrology of OWS Call to Action! NYC Oct 15, 2011

“A Youth Holding a Lighted Candle” is the Sabian Symbol for Mercury, planet of youth, communication, trade and commerce, today as the Occupy Wall Street movement rallies in Times Square at 5:00 pm edt, a Call to Action.

Until 10:14 am edt today, the Moon is in late degrees of money sign Taurus, with Sun in Libra. Then it’s a Sun Libra/Moon in Gemini day for the now-global movement to protest Wall Street banking greed and corruption.

So! Today’s upper class, business-oriented, Air-Earth Sun Libra/Moon Taurus combo soon morphs into an Airy, communicative Sun Libra/Moon Gemini combination bringing events more of a diplomatic, conciliatory, and neighborly vibe of natural teachers seeking justice!

First, here are the Sun Lib/Moon Taurus’s ‘Images for Integration’, one of which seems more applicable to OWS:

“A lecture on ancient Greek architecture and town planning…Newlyweds go on a gourmet tour of Italy for their honeymoon.” (How about ‘Greek’ debt? jc)

After 10:14 am edt, Sun Libra/Moon Gemini tells a different yet apt tale…

“Birds circle in perfect formation on the breeze of a bright autumn day…Having delivered a fair judgment, the chairman of a conciliation and arbitration board chats amiably with the previously opposing factions.”

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey.)

The ‘birds’ may be surveillance satellites, of course, and the rest seems to describe the 99% movement’s Assemblies for making group decisions, imho.

For more astro-notes on today’s Occupy Wall Street Call to Action in Times Square–a protest movement now spreading across the globe!–please click the above link where a YOD pattern and ‘a youth’ turn up together in the same post, and President Obama enjoys a Lunar Return just as the 5:00 pm rally begins!

Effects of Jupiter/Neptune linger

Now I know you remember how Financial Collapse 2008 continued to affect the US and global economies all through 2009, the year of the Great Conjunction/s of the inflationary, undermining, fraudulent, and grandly scheming pair of Jupiter and Neptune especially since the duo’s influences are with us still.

So my hope (Jupiter) is that you’ll waft away (Neptune) by clicking for a review concerning the planetary pair of speculation, fraud, and froth along with a May 27, 2011 video of Bob Chapman discussing our global and US financial circumstances.

That is, if you don’t mind entertaining a few brief astro-details concerning finances in the 1930s and Adolf Hitler.

New and Full Moons of May 2011

Well, the month of May has begun surprisingly with the alleged raid and kill of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan by US Special Forces undercover of the dark of the Moon phase. It’s all over the news since late last evening – you can’t miss it and aren’t meant to. (If this is a political scam, wonder who came up with the ‘buried at sea’ excuse which should be good for many scoffings d’amusement from late-night comedians!)

Meanwhile, there’s a New Moon 12Tau30 on May 3rd and a Full Moon on May 17th @ 26Sco13. Let’s consider the Earth-Earth Sun Tau-Moon Tau of the New Moon and the Full Moon’s Earth-Water Sun Tau-Moon Sco blends for May 2011.

Sun Tau-Moon Tau tends toward sensuality v self-control issues yet is practical and unflappable with a miscievous sense of humor and an explosive temper. It seeks certainties (which reminds me of bin Laden’s DNA evidence which was suppsedly ‘taken’ yet could have been taken years ago when he was being trained by our CIA); security is also a deep concern for this pragmatic combo of energies.

Passionate hatreds, stubborn rigidity, and possessiveness are the negative traits. Sun Tau-Moon Tau is shared natally by Karl Marx who is well-known for saying, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” (This conveniently leaves out who’s at the top and decides these things for everyone else.)

The Sun Tau-Moon Sco blend of the May 17th Full Moon adds Scorpio intensity to the mix. It retains the famous Taurean stubbornness, passion, and posessiveness while adding intense creativity, independence, and egotism. This blend does not have an inferiority complex! Instincts for self-preservation are high, and a powerful fighting spirit lies within.

The combo describes something of a bon viveur with big appetites and people intuit that it’s best to have those with this energy as an ally rather than an enemy. Scorpio brings in the primeval life force and this combo can be generous one minute, very demanding the next.

Sun Tau-Moon Sco is the natal blend of President Harry Truman who instructively remarked, “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

Whether you choose to remain in the kitchen or not, you’ll find more info concerning the May 3 New Moon and May 17 Full Moon of 2011 by accepting my cordial invitation to view both Horoscopes set for Washington DC along with details such as Sabian Symbols, aspects, and more at Stars Over Washington where I regularly peek at squirmy Politics through the useful lens of Astrology.

~:~

ps: BBC News is now reporting that the US does have photos of bin Laden. How releasing them will play across the globe is anyone’s guess.

Most info above from ‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Charles and Suzi Harvey.
