Frisky Friday Art: Blue Blue Tutu

Fridays roll around every week so it’s time for Frisky Friday Art in honor of Venus, goddess of beauty, art, and relationships.

In the Tropical zodiac Venus now transits Aries, sign of the ram, which is ruled by lusty Mars. And with Valentines Day almost here, I’m celebrating with a smidge of Chiffonery Art imported from my Cosmic Persona Designs collection of drawings!

All in all, a temporary break from ugly bailouts, political wranglings, and timed-for-effect cabinet withdrawals are an important part of my Venusian Fridays…how about yours?

Have you a long lost love?

Of course you do! Don’t we all? The one that got away…the one you still pine for just a wee bit perhaps?

So I got out my Prismacolor oil pencils and my Rexel Derwent watercolour pencils the other day and set about symbolizing lost love within a 9″x11″ rectangle of paper…and here’s the result:

Frisky Friday Art: late than never

Dora\'s Pink Shoe Envy

Yes, the friskiness has left the building in many time zones…translation: this drawing is being published quite late for Frisky Friday Art.

And it’s not as if I splash up one of my archetypal Chiffonery Art images every Friday, Venus’ day though it may be.

Still, I hope Dora (titled prior to my hearing of the children’s character, Dora)–I hope that this Dora and her primal emotions of material envy are of some small entertainment for you, Lone Viewer, because with the way the world is going, you could definitely use a smidge of mindless visual fluff.

Dreamyfish Art: Slender weed whiting

Slender weed whiting

Floating in to say Hi! is the latest of my tropical fish portraits of a Slender weed whiting, Siphonognathus beddomei (Johnson), of Carnac Island, Western Australia.

As are all my Dreamyfish, Slender is lost in a dream and you’ve caught him in a very private moment…

you’ll find more portraits of his buddies at

Cat writes political limerick: Karl Rove’s fluff

Cat in a Very Green Chair

Even the fluff of Karl Rove won’t protect him from the snarly Mr.A.Cat’s rhyminess.

A former agent in service to our nation, the elusive Mr.A. has penned a limerick in the litterbox of political verse for you to read–a limerick which concerns Mr. Rove and his sassy ways…

http://limslimericks.blogspot.com/2007/08/shy-little-kitten-named-rove.html

Who knew cats could be so political? Did you?

Yet the kitty cat in the chair, pictured above, looks fairly harmless, don’t you agree? Rather settled in, I might add.

Others Are Watching…

This drawing was fancifully visualized and inspired in 2006 by the NSA/Bush spying disclosures (or leaks.) Nothing is private: all is spyware, hacking, wide-net fishing, and “lost files” these days…with piles of money being made off our formerly private lives’ details and info. Other than that, I have no excuse for its perpetration although in my defense, I assert that no Prismacolor oils or Rexel Derwent watercolour pencils were harmed in its rendering–other than the usual sharpening.

note: my Lulu Storefront address below is correct but it’s giving me an error message for some reason…it is correct though if you’d like to stop by.
