Frisky Friday Art returns with Bistro Theater!

‘Bistro Theater’ brings Frisky Friday back to Jude’s Threshold!
Drawing perpetrated with Prismacolor oil and Rexel Derwent watercolour pencils on paper for both of this blog’s readers to view.
This weekend our family has a big birthday to celebrate – our Violet turns four years old.
Little Violet turning four
three has wafted out the door
cupcake breakfast gifts galore
everyone that’s five was four!
Happy Birthday, sweet Violet!
Limbaugh inspires limerick
You’ve heard of a cat they call Rush
who spouts from his powerful tush
with GOP cred
he wishes Dems dead
though some say he’s just a big lush.

Spycat limericks and rhymes of a political nature:
Thanksgiving Wishes and Steaming Dishes!
Yon turkey roasting in the pan
we simmer greens for Uncle Stan
got Aunt Belinda’s mac’n'cheese
and pumpkin pie that’s sure to please
sweet yellow corn is on the cob
those yams are bubbling on the hob
i got a chance and had to say
y’all have a fab Thanksgiving Day!

Above drawing is from my true-life Thanksgiving Tale which you may find by scrolling down the sidebar to: ‘Writers Write.’ It’s entitled, ‘Mysterious Tale of the Sleepwalking Turkey’ and will answer the burning question: Have You Seen This Turkey? ;p
Prez Election Rhyme: it had to be done
Well, the November 2008 prez election is closing in and will be here before we know it - I waited for you long as I could but apparently you hadn’t written anything of the rhymery persuasion so it had to be done such as it is:

This rhyme’s not the fault of Mr. A. Cat…all the blame’s on me this time.
Of course, you could’ve stopped it but you didn’t. And I know you’re busy. We’re all busy. I just happened to have an extra 25 minutes earlier tonight and this is one of the things that can happen when you give me a pen, paper, and some free minutes.
Okay, my peace has been said now so I’ll go watch Kiefer Sutherland on The Late Late Show with TV’s Craig Ferguson (sans moustache, thank goodness.) Reminnnnd you of anyone?
Karl No-Show Rove
As you know, Mr. Defiant was a no-show yesterday on Capitol Hill, so I penned a poem in honor of a man who knows all the Bush skeletons personally:

Cat from Iran: a limerick
There once was a cat from Iran
who got hot and turned on a fan
it wasn’t enough
to cool off his fluff
so atoms were split in Tehran.
He worked long and hard on the splits
while George threw incompetent fits
by acting so proud
no weapons allowed
or sanctions will come in a blitz.
So who gave the arms race it’s start?
who played the gargantuan part?
America’s clout
could take the world out
but that wouldn’t be very smart.

See the depths of what prez campaign fatigue can lead to? Even my cats are complaining (photo of Wiley included in above-linked post. He’s a longhaired beauty but oh so wumped out!)
