The Clinton Tapes? gotta love it!
NPR’s ‘Fresh Air’ is now broadcasting the top interview of the day between host Terry Gross and Taylor Branch who with President Bill Clinton recorded now-revealed tapes for the entire 8 years of the Clinton presidency…the things Clinton couldn’t say at the time.
Fresh Air’s audio of the interview will be available at approximately 3 pm ET, but click the interview link to read its text.
The tapes were not to be discovered, subpoened, or publicized and were taped in late night sessions and kept in Bill Clinton’s sock drawer! Mr. Branch recorded his own impressions of each interview afterwards, hence his new book which you’ll find on Amazon, its subtitle, ‘Wrestling History with the President’.
Pulitzer-Prize-winning historian Branch is telling now about Pres. Clinton seeming to go in and out of trances perhaps like a narcosis from sleep loss. (Or something.)
And I used to wonder when the fellow ever had time to sleep.
Terry is asking him now about Waco and about the Oklahoma City Bombing which must be why my stats for this blog’s Page on the Astrology of the OC Bombing spiked today. (See sidebar column, if you wish.)
Timothy McVeigh was executed mighty quickly, wasn’t he?
So have we in the US an “inherently evil government”? Is it a “dangerous force” that must be wrestled?
Do bloggers type in the woods?
