Newt Gingrich: no lapdance a 2nd time

As a Georgia native, I am always quick to point out that Newt Gingrich isn’t ~really~ a Georgia native and with this jaw-dropper news tidbit, he’s done nothing but continue to live down to my usual expectations of him.

The affair may be completely innocent but it looks awfully odd to me. See what you think.

Have you met Glamorous Glynda?

For the 17+ers among us, a new Chiffonery Art image has been added to the sidebar column of Pages to your left, if you are interested in meeting Glamorous Glynda, a brand new Cosmic Persona Designs portrait recently perpetrated and published.

Yet with so much going on in the world of Politics, I’m chomping at the bit to get back to grousing about it all, here or on Stars Over Washington yet artwork has been on my frontburner instead for the last 3 weeks.

So if you wish, check out a new Zazzle Art Shop of Wall Art Posters if you feel like taking a brief Art Break from sad news and/or political grandstanding, or brew yourself some aromatic coffee for my new Dreamyfish Art coffee and travel mugs at a new Cafe Press Store, too, with more content to be added to both shops as time allows.

And of course you know that my heartfelt sympathy and condolences go out to the people of Samoa and American Samoa in their time of trouble from earthquake and tsunami. Sadly, the death toll is rising, there’s much recovery to be done, and donations are needed.

May the world’s wealthy class heed the desperate call as well.

The Clinton Tapes? gotta love it!

NPR’s ‘Fresh Air’ is now broadcasting the top interview of the day between host Terry Gross and Taylor Branch who with President Bill Clinton recorded now-revealed tapes for the entire 8 years of the Clinton presidency…the things Clinton couldn’t say at the time.

Fresh Air’s audio of the interview will be available at approximately 3 pm ET, but click the interview link to read its text.

The tapes were not to be discovered, subpoened, or publicized and were taped in late night sessions and kept in Bill Clinton’s sock drawer! Mr. Branch recorded his own impressions of each interview afterwards, hence his new book which you’ll find on Amazon, its subtitle, ‘Wrestling History with the President’.

Pulitzer-Prize-winning historian Branch is telling now about Pres. Clinton seeming to go in and out of trances perhaps like a narcosis from sleep loss. (Or something.)

And I used to wonder when the fellow ever had time to sleep.

Terry is asking him now about Waco and about the Oklahoma City Bombing which must be why my stats for this blog’s Page on the Astrology of the OC Bombing spiked today. (See sidebar column, if you wish.)

Timothy McVeigh was executed mighty quickly, wasn’t he?

So have we in the US an “inherently evil government”? Is it a “dangerous force” that must be wrestled?

Do bloggers type in the woods?

Soviet ‘Doomsday Machine’ a reality

If you missed the NPR feature this morning on the reality of the Soviet Union’s Doomsday Machine, you may wish to have a listen or a read.

See, now here’s a good example of how movies can make light of serious subjects and cause people to assume that they’re only jokes.

Nyet, Dr. Strangelove, your propaganda does not amuse.

Just how funky is Astrology?

As it turns out, Astrology can be pretty funky yet practically approached in the mundane, political realm simultaneously!

The number of Astrology blogs has increased tremendously since my first Political Astrology blog went live in October 2005 (Stars Over Washington is almost 4 years old!)

So naturally, it’s become something of a marathon to keep up with the ones you’re aware of and benefit from, much less the ones you’ve yet to discover, no matter how you try. Even with feeds it’s difficult to stay on top of article reading and their excellent chart delineations.

This morning my SO’W blog was privileged to receive a comment from ‘Funkstar’ who writes the Funk Astrology Blog from the UK.

‘Funkstar’ gave details for an Iran natal chart she uses which is set for the Ayatollah Khomeini’s return to Iran after the overthrow of the Shah: Feb 1, 1979, 9:30 am IRDT, Tehran, with 3Ari37 as the ASC and Moon rising @ 7Ari01.

The Sabian Symbol for this Moon (the people), ’8Ari’ is: “A large woman’s hat with streamers blown by the east wind.”

But as Funkstar (whom I assume to be Marina of the Funk Astrology Blog) says in her comment, transit Pluto in early Capricorn is now conjunct this chart’s Midheaven 2Cap06 (Mc) – and I note that this is the only one of three charts for *Iran that places plutonic, nuclear-related Pluto on an angle – now.

Mc is, of course, the most public spot in any chart, thus the revelation of a 2nd nuke facility. Are there more?

Given the current Iran nuclear facility revelations at Qom and the Iran-US stand-off on these matters, I’d say the ‘Khomeini returns’ chart is a very useful map for timing of current events, wouldn’t you?

~:~

*Two other oft-used charts for Iran:
1. Feb 11, 1979 3:00 pm IRDT, Tehran when Khomeini proclaimed the Islamic Republic; ASC 7Can09; Marjorie Orr gives this chart in her book, ‘The Astrological History of the World’ as timing for “victory proclaimed in Islamic Revolution’;

2. April 1, 1979 3:00 pm IRDT, Tehran, ASC 17Leo17; as given in Celeste Teals’ book, ‘Eclipses.’

So..which natal chart to use for Iran? The one that ‘works’ because transits to it correctly time events!

Do you have a preferred birth chart for Iran?

Protesting in America: 1963 vs 2009

“The energy, the faith, the devotion – which we bring to this endeavor – will light our country and all who serve it. And the *glow from that fire can truly light the world.”

John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 1961

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we’re really talking about peace.”

George W. Bush, 2002

Blogger Tom Degan has some interesting thoughts on America and stupidity levels on the rise, most recently shown in political protesting situations…you’ll see a descriptive photo when you arrive at The Rant’s America the Pitiful.

Here’s a sample of a point Mr. Degan makes concerning the differences between America 1963 vs America 2009:

“MLK had a dream. Glenn Beck has a scheme.”

Please do check it out, and think about hiring any tutors your kids may need if necessary (if you possibly can) for America’s children Will be left behind.

Because apparently Washington politicians never revealed the propaganda slogan in full: No Child Left Behind from the Stupid Train…All Aboard!

*Actually, I’m sad to say that the ‘glow from that fire’ now burns at JFK’s gravesite as an ‘eternal flame’ of the Illuminati Society, those fire worshipers who brazenly divert the course of history whenever it suits their self-styled ‘larger’ purpose.

Donna Cunningham on major transits to natal Moon

Full Moon at Green Arch, by Jude Cowell 2009+

Full Moon at Green Arch, by Jude Cowell 2009+

Good news! Master astrologer Donna Cunningham, author of 17 books, has written an excellent analysis of Why Transits to the Birth Moon Are So Challenging.

You may wish to check out Donna’s insights on the subject (especially if you know your natal Moon’s position by sign, degree, and house) and if you are having contacts to moody Luna by heavy weight planets such as Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and/or Pluto. Or, if you’re the curious type.

As you know, the astrological Moon represents our emotions, feelings about our emotions, the past, and ‘she’ greatly influences our physical bodies as described by the mind-body connection.

Noel Tyl says our natal Moon describes our ‘reigning needs’ so right away we can see how a significant visit from life-altering planets such as those mentioned above can indicate important passages in our lives as our Unconscious minds receive timely messages from the Universe – directly to little ole us.

Actually, ‘passages’ is a quite a lunar term, isn’t it? That could be the basic message, in fact: it’s time for a passage!

“Life is change,” as ‘they’ are fond of reminding us. Have you noticed how this bromide usually issues from those whose lives are stable and settled?

Or so they assume, for their times of passage will come as well!

Plus, during these transit periods, issues from childhood may resurface in hopes that we are ready to deal with the subsequent emotions that may be dragging us down as adults and preventing progress. Old emotional disappointments and wounds can interfere with current goals, as I can personally attest. Our Moons relate to the Inner or Divine Child; Sun is the adult personality. The blending of the two is mentioned often by your reluctant astrologer (moi) because it is their integration – conscious with unconscious – that make up a whole psyche (it is to be hoped!)

And of course, we look to the house (department of life) where natal Moon resides to see what areas of our lives will be most affected by the transit; the house/s of the natal chart with Moon-ruled Cancer on the cusp/s will be pulled into the Moon’s gravity field as well when natal Moon is being stimulated.

Our daily mundane round is also signified by the astrological natal Moon, so do catch up with Ms. Cunningham as soon as you may, for the quickly fluctuating Moon changes signs about every 2 1/2 days, as you know…so why dost thou tarry?

Rush Limbaugh on The Jay Leno Show 9.24.09

Well, I’m not certain why I’m posting this bit except that Rush is on TV with Leno right now. And Mr. Limbaugh says his rather stunning weight loss amounts to 82 pounds.

The maker of ‘Captitalism: A Love Story’ – Michael Moore – has lost a bunch of poundage, too.

Hmmm…is this the start of some sort of weird pattern? Has gastric bypass occurred upon someone’s middle? Rush’s weight loss is dramatic, so I’m just askin’ and typing out loud.

So far tonight I’ve watched a favorite from last year’s TV season, ‘Fringe’ which was good, and the new ‘FlashForward’ with Joseph Fiennes, which was disturbingly menacing (as intended) and good as well. Promising actually.

Do the dates April 29, 2010 @ 11 pm, April 30, 2010 @ 6 am…mean anything to you?

Irkily, I did not catch the season premiere tonight of ‘The Office’ because of channel conflict, which grumps me up when they do that and mess around with the schedule so you have to search for your favorites like an Easter egg hunt.

But at least rerun season is finally ending, right?

And speaking of Rush (must we?) let’s not forget this bit from July 30, 2009 about Mr. Limbaugh calling Salon’s Joan Walsh a ‘magic honky’ while the ‘racist’ namecalling was being bandied about, but some things must be said if only to improve ratings, yes?

11 South Solar Eclipse: news says “system failed”

In a very literal turn of real life events being described by Astrology, here’s an extremely sad incident reported by McClatchy News using the ‘system failed’ words right out of the current Solar Eclipse Series which manifested on *July 21/22, 2009 @ critical degree 29Can27 with its ‘systems fail; any blocks may be violently or tragically removed’ flavor as noted in Bernadette Brady’s excellent book, ‘Predictive Astrology.’

And Cancer is the sign of the mother and child, and of home.

*Eclipse manifestion date depends on your time zone. In US zones it occurred on July 21, 2009.

Palin in Hong Kong

With former governor and former VP candidate speaking in Hong Kong on US defense spending, we and the larger world have yet another example of her scintillating orating ability and indepth understanding of military issues.

May the specter of Palin’s finger on The Button be a caution to every US voter tempted to think she should run in 2012 or any other year.
