Grieving for Mumbai

Mumbai, India is under siege; at least 78 are killed, many people are wounded, and hostages are being held. Gunfire and explosions were heard for miles during this well-coordinated assault which lasted for hours, I heard.

Listen to NPR’s coverage of today’s siege upon Mumbai, India (formerly Bombay.) The series of coordinated attacks began at 11:00 pm Local Time against hotels, a popular restaurant, a train station, and a hospital. A hospital. That tells you what they are capable of to overmake their point.

A previously unknown group has taken responsibility and Americans and Brits have been targeted.

May peace descend upon the city Mumbai and its good people. May all be restored one glad day. May all hostages go free and the disenfranchised respected, not oppressed.

Astrology Note: there’s no time to post much on the Mumbai Siege,  but if I were investigating this brutal criminality I would not rule out presidents of countries such as India, Pakistan, and perhaps more to the point, Russia. Since they’re reporting on the weapons the gunmen used, I’d follow the trail of manufacture as well as who sold the guns and explosives to whom. Borders are an obvious consideration.

Untraceable cell phones may have been used as triggers for the bombs and could be a large part of the close coordination of the attacks. And now that ’24′ has returned to TV, I shall fret that the wrong people are getting ideas – not that ’24′ is the only TV show (or film) that inspires copycat acts by terroists or false flag operatives, if indeed they do. But most often in a dramatic portrayal, ‘untraceable’ cell phones actually can be traced by way of cell towers…to locations if not to precise identities.

Rising at 11:00 pm Local Time in Mumbai, India, is Russia’s ‘USSR’ Leo Ascendant of Nov, 1917. With both Ascendants falling around ’15Leo’ it seems of interest to me that ’15Leo’ is traditionally known as a ‘heart attack’ degree. The ‘heart of India’ was certainly attacked and my prayers go out to the good people of that nation.

Occurring under a Balsamic phase of the Moon, when secret activities are often initiated in the dark, the upcoming New Moon’s Sabian Symbol may be notable: “A Game of Cricket”…a particularly British game of one-up-manship which harkens to Britain’s colonial days in India and the hypocrisy of such rule. 

And conjunct this New Moon at ’6Sag’? Asteroid, Sisyphus, whose keywords include: determination; dogged persistence; to start over.’ As you know, the myth of Sisyphus tells of rolling a rock up the hill only for it to roll down again…and repeating.

(And ‘dogged’ reminds me of Sirius, the Dog Star, which has an ‘announcing’ or ‘heralding’ quality. This anciently worshipped Fixed Star (aka the ‘Nile Star’) relates closely to the US, London, and to Egypt. I’m simply making note of these links for future reference, if necessary.)

And since all New Moons are times of new starts, I hope for the sake of the good people of Mumbai that the siege is not the beginning of a round of inhuman violence and cruelty on their doorsteps.

As for foreign nationals and others, perhaps it’s time for them to return to their own folds and ‘lay low’…always good advice during and just after the darkening of the Moon – and in this case, perhaps well beyond.
