Palin diverts as Bush expands presidential power

To paraphrase an earlier assertion: when politicians put on a big show in one direction, be sure to look elsewhere for what they’re really up to…and I may have found one of their shell games.

John Byrne at Raw Story has it: ‘Bush quietly seeks to make war powers permanent, by declaring indefinite state of war’:

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Bush_seeks_to_institutionalize_war_powers_0830.html

Byrne begins: “As the nation focuses on Senator John McCain’s choice of a running mate, President Bush has quietly moved to expand the reach of presidential power by ensuring that America stays in a state of permanent war.”

Did you think the Bush years were almost over? Improvements on the way? Saturn is approaching US natal Neptune, a depressive influence on dreams and ideals when reality comes to call.

This behind-the-Palin-diversion story tells me that whoever takes the White House in Jan 2009 (assuming it’s someone other than George Bush), is in cahoots with the program. You would hardly make such sweeping revisions of a nation’s very character and purpose only to hand it to the other faction’s top egos to wield as they desire, would you?

But possibly you would if there weren’t a puppytail’s worth of difference between factions in the ultimate goal department. Because that’s what we have in America: factions, not the much-advertised parties. “Left, right, center.”

And sometimes left and right gang up on center. Squoosh!
