Obama searching for a VP
Headlines are screaming at me this morning: Barack Obama has begun his search for the perfect Vice President to run with him on the Democratic ticket.
Two candidates are, in my book, good choices, although their talents and strengths might indicate which would do for VP and the other for Attorney General or a cabinet post of Obama’s choice.
“But would they accept?” is the question. I hope so, if they are asked.
For VP? I suggest Senator Jim Webb.
The other man is John Edwards, whom I favored for the top post, but we know what happened there. Or do we? I still wonder about his daughter’s car accident not long before he announced he was dropping out, but that’s probably only my suspicious nature. Right?
If so, it’s based on a remembrance of the threat made toward Ross Perot’s daughter when he ran for prez and suddenly dropped out. People called Perot crazy over it, but recent years of political dirty tricks and mysterious deaths would indicate that it’s just the kind of thing people who are determined to win at any cost would do.
Well, these are my bossy ideas for Senator Obama as he searches for his running mate, assuming he’s the nominee, and I’m not alone in these sentiments, that’s for sure. I think Webb on the Dem ticket would be hard to beat because of his resume, directness, and talent for clearheaded thinking.
Plus, he seems to understand the meaning of the term ‘common good’ which is a trait completely missing in today’s usual politician. Guess you’d need a working conscience for that and most of them seem to function in conscience-free mode. It’s self first, Party second, American people…who? Yet sometimes they switch ’self’ and ‘Party’ just to confuse us…or because they’ve been leaned on!
Perhaps you caught it when Senator Webb was interviewed on NPR’s ‘Fresh Air’ a few days ago and stated that he’s primarily a writer (and novelist.) You may find my Nov 2006 post concerning his natal chart of interest (sunrise, birth time unknown–if anyone knows it, please clue me in–it’d be good to know) where I wrestle with two possible Moon positions for him, and favor Moon in Gemini, sign of the writer!
