Pisces and the magical melusine
Have you seen this mermaid before?
Everyone knows that Pisces, sign of the two fish swimming in opposite directions, is associated with the oceans and seas.
The ancient ruler of Pisces is Jupiter, aka Zeus or Jove. Yes, astrologically I use ancient rulers rather than the ‘moderns’…Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto, the transpersonal or generational planets.
Here you see an image of a melusine or mermaid, as known in fairy tales, with the lovely oceanic name of Maya. This drawing is named after my daughter, Maya, but I assure you she has feet (ruled by Pisces!) rather than a tail with scales and fins. Good swimmer though.
Melusines were reputed to have magical powers, the most famous one being the Piscean myth where a mortal man caught a melusine, fell in love, and married her but had to promise Not To Pry into Her Secrets.
Out of excessive nosiness, he didn’t keep his promise which resulted in a sad parting of ways for the both of them. Starfish-crossed lovers, I suppose. She only wanted to protect her illusive mystique.
If you know anyone with lots of Pisces energy within (and we all have Pisces somewhere in our natal charts) you’ll recognize this secretive side of Pisces. Sometimes it really is best not to ask…or your creative, dreamy Pisces may go pouf and disappear!

gaseous Neptune at Newark NJ Airport
‘Gas’ is Neptunian and so is Art…here’s a measily merging of the two in a shabby attempt to lighten one more than the other…

Well, I’ve just spent a good deal o’time posting http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2007/11/astrology-of-gaseous-odor-in-newark.html and it occurred to me that you might be interested in some of the chart’s details for 11:00 am est, Saturday, Teminal B at the Airport in Newark, N.J.
Or not, as you prefer.
I am, however, about to publish in the next few minutes some Newly-minted Art (a small detail of which you see here) at:
http://cosmicpersonadesigns.blogspot.com
…because I’ve been doing some drawing the last couple of days–pc been down so long, etc. I would appreciate your taking a peek if you have a mo to see a current perpetration done with my habitual Prismacolor oil and Rexel Derwent Watercolour pencils applied clumsily to black paper.
Bad News in Local Art Scene, Ga, USA: the black paper sketch pads I’ve been purchasing the last few years have been discontinued at Michaels’. Or is it, Michael’s ?
No matter how many Michaels you have, this sux for a particular pencil artist. It’s not enough I’ve not found the best black paper ever known–that which I could purchase in 1995-96, blackest of the black, velvet textured and with no undertones of red, brown, yellow, blue, or anything else to plague me by dimming colors.
Yet, I have a little paper still (I managed to score two sketchpads, 12″x12″), so I’m publ’ing a detail from a new draw-ring for you here at WordPress with full image to be found very soon at Cosmic Persona Designs, one of my art gallery blogs linked above.
My favorite drawing paper–discontinued!! I’m in a snit over it to the point of total miffdom.
And it’s tempting, of course, to give up all creative activities due to the oppressive shouldering of a massive sense of futility…but then they’d win by default.
