Aug 31 2007: progressing the Iraq War chart

 Solar Arcs to 8.31.07

Here you see the charts–details for which appear at Stars Over Washington: http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com/2007/08/iraq-war-solar-arc-directions-for-83107.html

which gives the progressed placements using the Solar Arc Directed method (1 degree = 1 year) of the chart for the Iraq War which began Mar 20, 2003.

This SO’W post was inspired–if you can call it that–by Bush’s meeting at the Pentagon today with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a meeting which is, as reported by NPR and everywhere else, the start of a two-week marathon of reports and meetings about the Iraq occupation and its (totally predictable) woes.

8.31.07: the War’s Solar Arc (SA) Uranus, planet of rebellion and disruption, is today at 4Pis55 and was triggered or conjuncted by the Aug 28 Lunar Eclipse, and so we have:

Sun/Moon (the Eclipse) = Uranus: intensification of independence within relationship; possible break-up; sudden developments; the urge for freedom; the tendency to act independently; lack of adaptability; shared upsets; sudden conflicts; separation of partners.

As you probably know, Jupiter the General was retrograde at the beginning of the war while in conjunction with Bush’s natal Ascendant (his nibs himself–he was feelin’ mightily expansive back then), and the natal Mercuries of Bush, the Republican Party, and of Alberto Gonzales. You may remember that they were all feelin’ tres expansive in the build-up to their war.

Yes, that’s quite a pile-up in the 8-9 Leo degree area, isn’t it? Mercury represents our thinking and communication, and they apparently speak with the same ideas in mind.

Oh! and today was Karl Rove’s last official day at the White House–you’ll find a SO’W entry on that, too, posted earlier today.

Plus, if you follow the link above, you’ll discover info on the meteor shower we’re expecting early Saturday morning from the constellation Auriga, the Charioteer. This constellation has very interesting myths and images associated with it so I hope you’ll have a nice read-up before cranning your neck toward the heavens!
